Athlete Rylie visited her favorite state Arizona for epic senior pictures this month while on a whirlwind tour of gymnastic competitions and clinics across the Southwest. She is expected to excel at a top level in all areas of the demanding sport, but she says her favorite parts are uneven bars, balance beam. Her hard work and training were really evident in every effortless movement from walking, to posing, to leaping on top of a mountain barefoot she made it look so easy! A fun session full of smiles and grace!
It’s my babies senior year and I just may have gone a little overboard with senior pictures! But can you really go overboard? Nah! My girl is an outside of the box dreamer, with music and art in her heart always- we wanted to plan a fun trip that also expressed her personality and charm!
I actually like to keep my packages pretty simple! 30mins for the more camera shy senior, two hours with a mini senior movie (the most popular), and the travel Adventure package!
For my daughter’s road trip session we started from Phoenix to Palm Springs, California. The next day we hit Newport Beach and Balboa Pier, then onto a day in Los Angeles where we visited The Last Bookstore - has to be seen by any book lover- and the MOCA. Another day on the beach at El Matador and La Piedra for gorgeous sea spray and sand. We popped by the Rose Bowl to catch a DCI drum corps show one day, then we were off to one of my bucket list photo session spots: the Nelson Nevada Ghost Town and Eldorado Canyon Mine Tours!
SO are YOU up for an adventure for your Senior Portrait Experience?? Its more possible and affordable than you might think! What adventure calls to you?
So this collection of photos is what my “Adventure Package” looks like- travel and unlimited outfits and poses! You can find out more about all my packages here:
It was hot when we got home to Phoenix- so indoor studio marching band portraits of course! I am so thankful she puts up with me :)
I had so much fun building this puzzle on Instagram to feature
Oonagh’s senior picture adventure!
Had such a fantastic first full senior season in Arizona- ALL because of these fantastic seniors! Go get the world Class of 2019! Thank you so much for choosing me for your portraits! Thank you seniors and parents.
Alright #2020 let’s get ready!!!
Don’t stress worrying about getting announcements in time by waiting to the last minute- Schedule early in the fall or winter for your first pick of the best senior session dates!
Senior pictures should be a fun experience- and Kiana wanted to head to downtown Phoenix for a sophisticated urban cityscape backdrop to celebrate her upcoming graduation! Phoenix has the best colours and light for fantastic grad photos, and Kiana really lit up the city with her smile and poses- no wonder as she is an accomplished pageant winner, as well as her high schools Homecoming AND Prom queen! Such a wonderful and accomplished young person- it was fantastic meeting Kiana for her Graduation senior portraits!
I am so blessed to have met Jayde! I didn’t know that I had already met her twice- or at least my camera had- at WGI winterguarde competitions the past two season!
She is a fantastic young person, gorgeous in every way, and she did such an amazing job at her senior session with so many lovely looks and her spunky personality!
make sure you click HD on the video!
Such a great, fun session with sparkling Carly!! Don’t her big eyes make you want to sing? Wonderful high school graduation senior session on the top of Peoria Az’s little Eastwing Mountain overlook with the bright Class of 2019 choir kid! So happy I got to meet Carly and her family, so excited to see what adventures this star takes through graduation and beyond!!
Left: natural light at the end of golden hour. 85mm, ISO 100, f1.4, 1/800SS
Right: off camera flash just at the start of blue hour. 35mm, ISO 200, f5.6, 1/1000SS
Another reason I just can’t resist using BOTH beautiful kinds of light at my portrait sessions- I love the creamy artistic natural light looks but also oh my, oh my those dramatic skies!
That sky ain’t photoshopped folks- its just able to show off its blues when I light the subject, lovely Carly, with an off camera flash :)
Had such a great time meeting up with Faith and her folks down on Hermitage Square for her high school senior portrait session! Downtown Phoenix is an adventure of colours, and great photo textures- and sometimes adventures in finding parking spaces!! But Faith’s smiles lit the city up brighter than the sunshine :)
I have had the pleasure of knowing her a few years now as she has lead my daughters band, and can I just say this kid is so dang cool! Lauren is a leader, a musician, and a haircut trendsetter- but she’s also the kindest, coolest, and funniest person! Loved out session down on roosevelt Row in Phoenix- we visited all the murals and lite them up with Lauren’s smile and some smoke bombs! Can’t wait to read all about her future adventures!!!
The splashes of colour and city vibe have def been the most popular spots this high school senior portrait session season! We are so blessed to live in a vibrant fun city with so many neat spots- and Mikaela rocked them all! From Roosevelt Row to Grand ave this Arizona girl stunned in her graduation photo session!
We had some help from Mikaleas brother Aaron- he manned the Ice Light on a fushia setting to create the zig zag halo behind her head for this photo!
Phoenix had a surprisingly windy and cold- snowy even- and so Hannah’s senior session was a whirlwind of colourguard flags in the wind and golden curls. After warming in up in charming BeCoffee the sun popped out to end the afternoon session in warmth and reflections in Phoenix!
THE photo contest is here again!!! So excited for the Superbowl of annon photographers-
Here are my hopes and dreams for the past season- 2018 & 2019 seniors in here (strict contest rule- you cannot enter any image you have entered previously!)
So in between Sportsball commercials I will be click happy voting for and being inspired by the contest entries! Voting starts Feb 1st and ANYONE can vote!
Had a great time meeting Preston and his mom at the anthem Community Park a little while for a short and sweet senior session! This one is a keep it simple, nothing fancy- and Preston was the perfect guy for it because he was ready with a quick smile and laugh to get everything his family wanted with lots of time to submit for the Anthem Preparatory Academy. I do love a school that lets seniors choose their own portraits!
The Senior mini session is great for kids that have an easy, relaxed smile right away, and are very comfortable in front of the camera. They don’t want to fuss with a bunch of wardrobe changes so we keep it fun and light- easy going and as painless as possible :)
The students interested in a mini are great kids who know what they want- andare not interested in a movie or have such busy schedules- but they know portraits matter to mom!
It was so great working with you Preston- congrats on a great High School experience and all the wonderful adventures that wait!!
Such a fantastic session with Tyler at Tempe Town Lake last week!
It was great getting to know this talented and young gentleman. Tyler is interested in music, the arts, and song/music rights and publishing for video games, movies ,and more.
It will be exciting to see where the future takes Tyler- or rather what he accomplishes with his bright future!
Had a fantastic time exploring downtown with Charis and her mom❤ She is such a smart, happy, and bubbly person- fantastic images and conversation!!! Pretty sure she can slay anything she wants to- go get it girl!
I told her mom, however, that there was a problem. Far too many of these photos are amazing and just picking a few favorites has been one of the hardest decisions I have had all week! Can’t wait to see all this kid is going to accomplish in the future!!
We played with faerie lights inspired by @brandonwoelfel awesome style after the sun went down on @karis.kalei fab senior session downtown! Been wanting to try this for a while-💯bokeh captured in camera- edited but no overlays. Heck, I love overlays and such, we just didn't need to use em this time once we found some neon in Phoenix
I KNOW its Christmas time- but a bunch of my spring dates filled up for the Class of 2019 this past week- here is what left! Thinking ahead this year so I do not have to turn anyone away again and so that prints or galleries arrive BEFORE graduation. Its gonna speed up on you fast folks- if you choose a date we will schedule you and cross it off just for you :)
Dates only scheduled and held with contract and retainer. First come first served. Some dates have slight restrictions (see asterisks etc)
This guy here, he is cool and calm as can be. Casually sitting for his senior portraits like it isn't the hottest dang day of my whole life! HA! But Nathan has been forged in the heat of the desert- as a trumpet marching for SDOHS and Phenom SoundSport he is no stranger to hard work and 100% effort regardless of the Arizona sun! Enjoy this sneak peek of a remarkable young man- more coming soon!!!
Thank you all for a fantastic Class of 2018 Senior season!

Where can you take senior pictures in the greater Phoenix area and beyond? This post is just lists of ideas for places and props for YOUR senior experience portraits with Anjeanette Photography! The best places are ones close to your heart, or even near your school campus- however, you can use these ideas to start brainstorming the perfect lo-cal.
Many are free or have a small park or org fees, there is a very small travel fee only if I travel over 30 mins, everything under that is included.
This is in no way an exhaustive list- so what have you always dreamed of for YOUR epic and stylish session???
Where can we NOT go?
No railroad tracks, no tresspassing, no middle of the road, no canals, no bars- yep been asked. Just not cool for a senior experience k? :)
Let's start planning! Tell me your ideas or ask for suggestions below:
