Today's spotlight shines on Matthew, a dude with wanderlust in his soul and a future at NAU etched on his horizon. Forget about stuffy studios and forced smiles; Matthew craved a backdrop as wild and free as his spirit, and what better fit than the Sonoran Mountain Desert's rugged beauty?

Golden sunlight was bleeding over saguaro silhouettes, casting long shadows across the dusty trails. Add in a cool breeze whispering through prickly pear patches and the distant call of a coyote – nature's symphony in full swing. No really, we heard them that’s not just poetic bs! It was the perfect spot for Matthew to paint his senior portraits with the desert's vibrant brushstrokes.

Matthew soaked it all in. You could practically see the gears of his mind turning, maybe dreaming of future hikes, mountain expeditions, and maybe even a touch of stargazing under NAU's open skies. He spoke of his passion for environmental science, his plans to explore the world's hidden corners, and the excitement of leaving his mark on the planet. And in those moments, the desert wasn't just a backdrop; it became a symbol of the challenges and possibilities that awaited him.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, painting the cacti in fiery hues, we captured the essence of Matthew's journey. These weren't just senior portraits; they were a visual narrative of his transformation from high schooler to adventurer, to a young man ready to embrace the wild unknown.

One of the hardest choices I have had to make in a while...which of Gabe’s dirt bike photos to share on Insta bc holy crap was this entire sesh LIT! Gabe is 100% senior guy style for sure! Fantastic job Gabe!! This was so much fun!

Triple threat rocker Jonathan is a drummer, bassist, and guitarist (and prolly 5-6 other ‘ists’ I don’t even know about) This dude is TALENTED and HARDWORKING! The night of his senior session we ended up pushing the time up a little bit as he had a gig on stage in Tempe Az performing live at the Marketplace Friday night stage with one of his many bands- Corridor Sixteen!

After his session, I obviously had to go check out the performance- great music, great energy, great vibe. The duo of Jonathan and lead vocalist and guitarist Jude David was incredible. From covers to originals they had a passion that just got your heart pumping. Exciting to see live and excited for later on when I get to brag- hey! I took this guys photo when he was just graduating from high school!

I’ve been asking myself that question a lot recently, especially having just graduated high school and joining many new projects. It’s becoming clearer and clearer every day that music isn’t just my passion or hobby, it’s my purpose in life. The night these photos were taken, it really hit me: big things are coming, much bigger than I could possibly imagine, so I better be ready. Gods already taken me on an adventurous path in life, and I can see that he’s only got more, this is just the beginning of a new path.”
