Riley Class of 2025 | Anjeanette Photography Phoenix Senior Photographer
This kids going places! Artist and actor Riley has been flying around the country auditions and vetting colleges for a major in Musical theatre- as you can imagine spots in the programs are extremely sought after and as a result the competition is high with each college only taking a small number each year. Beyond the normal college application process and essays etc, Musical theatre hopefuls also have sing, monologue, and dance auditions! I think Riley talked about 5 different schools she was considering, although she was applying to many more. She has an edge though, having already performed in musicals and preparing for this for years.
This musical actress was even nominated for a Lead Actress ariZoni Award for her performance as Lina Lamont in CYT’S 2022 production of “Singin’ in the Rain” and chosen by her cast members to receive the Rose of Sharon Award.
So before we headed over to Stelle India Park for senior photos in flowy dresses and classic Chuck’s, we stopped at Afternoon Studio for Acting Portfolio Headshots! Approachable, energetic, and charismatic smile- a winning combination to make your best first impression. And everything your looking for in an acting or modeling headshot where decisions are made in split seconds- you have to stand out.
Riley has all of these characteristics and more, her smile is cool and vibrant, only surpassed by a fantastic laugh and authentic personality. She is sure to take her dreams to reality with her determination, and I look forward to seeing her light up the world someday!
If you’re considering a senior portrait session in Phoenix, locations like Steele Indian Park are an amazing option in Phoenix, offering a balance of modern design, stunning light, and a connection to your personal journey. Whether you’re wrapping up high school or college, choosing a spot that holds significance to you makes all the difference. And we can always add on Pro Headshots to give you the competitive edge!
Riley, thank you for letting me document this chapter of your life! Your determination, personality, and enthusiasm for the future make you unforgettable. I can’t wait to see all the incredible things you’ll do as you sing and dance in college—you’re going to own it!

Joahua Mountain ridge Class of 2025 | Phoenix & Peoria Graduation Pictures & High School Photographer ANJEANETTE PHOTOGRAPHY
The golden Arizona sun, a sharp-dressed senior, and the timeless beauty of the Peoria Desert—Joshua’s senior mini session was everything you could want in a portrait shoot and more! This Mountain Ridge High School senior brought his A-game, and we had the best time capturing these milestone moments. It’s not every day you get to work with someone who’s so laid-back yet absolutely owns every shot.
We met up in the Peoria Desert, which always sets the stage beautifully for senior portrait sessions. The desert has this understated magic—wide open spaces, natural textures, and that incredible light Arizona is known for. Joshua arrived ready to go with two looks that perfectly balanced his personality. His first outfit was a sharp, formal vibe—tailored, polished, and perfect for those classic graduation portraits. His second look was a bit more relaxed, with a casual button-up that still said, “I’m ready to take on the world.” It was the best of both worlds!
The light that day was simply stunning. Late afternoon in the desert gives you that soft, backlit glow that makes everything pop. And oh man, did Joshua glow! Whether he was looking serious in his formal outfit or cracking a smile in the casual look, that golden light wrapped around him like a spotlight. But we didn’t just rely on the sun—we added a little flash to create some truly epic shots. It was all about balance. The natural light gave us those warm, timeless portraits, while the flash brought a dramatic, magazine-worthy flair to a few key moments.
What stood out to me most about Joshua was how effortlessly cool and chill he was during the session. Some seniors can be a little nervous in front of the camera (which is totally normal!), but Joshua made it look easy. His confidence was quiet but powerful, and his poses felt natural—never forced. You could see how comfortable he was in his own skin, and that’s exactly what senior portraits should capture.
Joshua’s session wasn’t just about taking pictures—it was about celebrating who he is at this moment in his life. Senior year is such a huge milestone, and it deserves to be documented in a way that feels authentic and meaningful. Whether it’s through a formal pose or a candid laugh, every photo tells a story.
If you’re a senior (or a parent of one!) and wondering where to take your senior pictures in Phoenix, let me just say: my favorite spot in the Peoria Desert is one of the best places to take senior photos in Arizona. It’s versatile, stunning, and has this way of making everyone look incredible. Whether you’re going for formal, casual, or something totally unique, it’s the perfect spot to capture your personality and your journey.
Joshua, thank you for trusting me to capture this milestone moment. Your confidence, chill vibes, and style made this session unforgettable. I can’t wait to see what amazing things you’ll do after graduation—you’ve got such a bright future ahead!

Brady Paradise Valley Christian Class of 2025 | Phoenix & Peoria Graduation Pictures & High School Photographer ANJEANETTE PHOTOGRAPHY
Brady’s senior portrait session was packed with adventure, personality, and just the right amount of Arizona sunshine. This Paradise Valley Christian senior brought a BMX bike, dirt ramps, and his chill vibe to the Peoria Desert—and dang, did it all come together! The whole day felt like a celebration, not just of Brady’s accomplishments, but of who he is: smart, fun, talented, and ready for the future.
Brady chose the mini session - which I literally designed around guys who just want photos for their mama and not a huge long hassle. I def don’t think longer sessions are hassles 😂 but photos are my thing, if they are NOT your thing the short and sweet mini is the way to go! Brady didn’t want 200 photos or more than a couple of outfits so the mini was the perfect fit.
Just because it’s a quick session doesn’t mean it has to be boring though- the Peoria Desert Preserve was the perfect backdrop for Brady’s session. There’s something about the desert’s raw beauty—the rugged terrain, the muted tones, and the way the light dances through the brush—that makes every photo feel timeless. But this wasn’t your typical desert shoot. Brady had a vision, and it included his BMX bike and the dirt ramps tucked away in the Peoria Preserve. Yes, we hit the ramps, and yes, it was amazing!
We started the session as the late afternoon light softened, creating that golden, dreamy glow photographers adore. Brady was totally in his element, and it showed in every frame. Whether he was casually leaning on his bike or catching air over the ramps, he brought an easy confidence to the shoot. It’s always exciting when seniors bring something personal to their session—it makes the photos so much more than portraits. They become a snapshot of who you are at this moment in your life.
What stood out to me most about Brady was how effortlessly cool and laid-back he was. He didn’t overthink the poses or try to put on a show; he just was. That kind of authenticity is what makes senior pictures unforgettable.
One of my favorite parts of the day was how we incorporated movement into the shoot. Brady’s BMX bike wasn’t just a prop—it was part of the action. Whether he was mid-jump or casually rolling across the frame, those moments added energy and excitement to the session. And let’s be honest, it’s not every day you get to photograph a senior doing BMX tricks in the middle of the desert.
The Peoria Preserve’s dirt ramps were a hidden gem. I’m 90% sure the ramps were created by neighborhood kids and they get more elaborate and kick ass every year! They gave us this incredible mix of textures—the soft desert sand, the rugged dirt trails between Saguaro Cacti, and the wide-open sky overhead. It was the kind of location that makes you want to shoot there every day. As the session wrapped up, the sun dipped lower, casting long shadows and turning the sky into a canvas of soft pinks and oranges. Those final moments were pure magic. Brady stood with his bike against the backdrop of the desert sunset, and it felt like the perfect closing chapter to his senior portraits.
Senior year is such an exciting time. It’s full of possibilities, reflection, and—let’s be honest—a little chaos. Capturing that in a way that feels personal and true is what makes senior portrait sessions so special. For Brady, it was all about blending his love for BMX, his laid-back personality, and the beauty of Arizona. And together, we created images that are as unique as he is.
If you’re thinking about your own senior portraits and wondering where to start, locations like the Peoria Desert are a fantastic choice. It’s one of the best places to take senior photos in Arizona, offering versatility, natural beauty, and endless possibilities for creativity. Whether you’re into sports, fashion, or something completely unexpected, we can create a session that feels just right for you.

Brady, you crushed this session! From the dirt ramps to the golden light, every moment felt like it captured who you are right now. Here’s to finishing senior year strong and chasing big dreams—you’ve got this!

James and Jonathan SDOHS Class of 2025 | Phoenix & Peoria Graduation Pictures & High School Photographer ANJEANETTE PHOTOGRAPHY
The session was on a perfect Arizona fall days—sunny but cool enough to keep us comfortable as we headed out to the Peoria Desert for a senior portrait session that was as unique as it was fun. James and Jonathan, twins from Sandra Day O’Connor High School’s Class of 2025, brought their laid-back charm, their sweet pup, and a whole lot of personality to the shoot. These guys were born with best friends for life, and even though they follow different pursuits they always have that brothers bond to carry them thru senior year and beyond.
The desert backdrop was stunning as always. There’s just something about those wide-open spaces, rugged textures, and that soft golden light filtering through the mesquite trees that sets the perfect stage for senior pictures. Add in James and Jonathan’s chill personalities, their variety of outfits, and even a few athletic props, and you’ve got yourself a session full of variety and storytelling. Bringing their adorable dog just sealed the deal!
James and Jonathan thought of the perfect outfits. They each brought three looks—everything from casual, everyday styles to slightly more polished options. A highlight was Jonny’s lacrosse gear and James’ track shoes. Incorporating their sports into the session not only added a personal touch but also showcased their unique interests and passions. I always love it when seniors bring props that represent who they are—it makes the photos so authentic.
There’s something so special about photographing siblings, especially twins. James and Jonathan had this easy, natural connection that made the entire session feel effortless. Whether they were joking around, giving each other a hard time (as brothers do), or simply standing side by side, their personalities just shone through.
We started with some dreamy backlit shots, letting the natural light wrap around them for those soft, glowing portraits everyone loves. But we also brought out the flash to create some bold, dynamic images that added a bit of drama to the scene. I mean, if you’re going to the desert for senior portraits, why not go all in for those epic shots?
Their pup was the unexpected star of the day! There’s something so sweet about adding a furry friend to a photo session. Not only did their dog bring even more personality to the shoot, but they also helped break the ice and added a playful energy to the whole experience.
Senior year is such a big milestone, and James and Jonathan are clearly ready to take on the world—each in their own way. They’re not just incredibly talented athletes but also genuinely kind, fun, and full of life. Capturing this moment for them, knowing it’s just the beginning of all the amazing things they’re going to do, was such a privilege.
For anyone reading this and thinking, "Where should I take senior pictures in Phoenix?" or "What makes a session truly special?"—this is it. It’s about choosing a location that reflects your personality (the Peoria Desert was perfect for these guys), bringing items that represent your journey, and letting your true self shine through. Whether it’s lacrosse sticks, track shoes, a favorite outfit, or even a furry companion, the details make all the difference.
If you’re a senior (or a mom of one) looking for affordable senior pictures in Arizona, I’d love to help you create something just as unique and fun. Every session is tailored to highlight who you are, and we’ll make sure you feel confident, comfortable, and—most importantly—like yourself.
So, what are you waiting for? Let’s find the perfect spot—whether it’s the Peoria Desert, a lush garden, or somewhere completely unexpected—and make some magic happen. You’ll leave with high-quality portraits and memories that will last a lifetime.
James and Jonathan, thank you for bringing your A-game to this session. Your humor, chill vibes, and love for your pup made this day unforgettable. Here’s to finishing senior year strong and chasing your dreams. I can’t wait to see what’s next for you both!

Remy Class of 2025 | Phoenix & Peoria Graduation Pictures & High School Photographer ANJEANETTE PHOTOGRAPHY
TRACK: Neon Desert By Coma Svensson
Meet Remy, a Class of 2025 senior who traveled all the way from the Pacific Northwest to sunny Arizona for his senior pictures. Remy has big dreams of becoming a SunDevil, so it made perfect sense for him to choose the ASU campus as the backdrop for his senior portraits. ASU is hands down ( or Forks Up) one of the best places to take senior photos in Arizona! Between the mix of modern architecture, lush green spaces, and that signature desert sunshine, it’s a photographer’s dream.
When Remy’s mom reached out to book his senior pictures, I couldn’t wait to plan a session that captured both his laid-back personality and his excitement about ASU. We started near Old Main – one of the most iconic spots at ASU. The historic brick building, with its gorgeous landscaping and sprawling lawns, was the perfect backdrop to kick off the session. Remy’s easygoing personality shone through right away. This guy is cool, confident, and just plain fun to be around!
Mom wanted to schedule during winter break when they were visiting- and again I have to say breaks are the PERFECT time for campus photos. No lines for iconic spots, and no crowds in the background of your photos.
One of my favorite things about working with seniors is seeing their personalities come to life in front of the camera. And Remy? He made my job so easy! He brought a mix of outfits that perfectly reflected who he is. From a classic button-down for those timeless shots to a casual ASU ball cap and sweaters, every look was on point. His confidence, paired with his sweet and grounded personality, made for some seriously authentic and dynamic shots.
Coming to Arizona for his senior pictures was such a cool way to celebrate his SunDevil dreams. The contrast between his PNW roots and the sunny Arizona setting made this session so special. It’s not every day you get to photograph someone who traveled across states for their senior pictures – talk about dedication!
And let’s talk about that Arizona sunshine for a second. 🌞 While we had plenty of bright light to work with, the golden hour on campus was pure perfection. The way the light wrapped around Remy in those final shots of the day? Absolutely magical.
Senior pictures are more than just photos. They’re a celebration of who you are right now – your journey, your dreams, and everything that makes you you. Remy’s session reminded me of just how special this milestone is.
Watching him light up as he talked about his plans for ASU and capturing that excitement in his portraits was so rewarding. This wasn’t just about taking pictures; it was about telling his story.

If you’re searching for “senior portraits near me” or wondering where to book your session, I’d love to help! Whether you’re a local or traveling from out of state like Remy, I’m here to make your session unforgettable.

Incorporate your interests – Whether it’s a favorite shirt, a prop, or a hobby, these personal touches make your photos unique.
Choose a meaningful location – ASU was perfect for Remy because of his SunDevil dreams. Let’s pick a spot that feels special to you!
Relax and have fun! – The best photos happen when you’re just being yourself.
A Big Thank You to Remy
Remy, thank you for trusting me with your senior portraits and for bringing so much fun and energy to your session. Watching you embrace your SunDevil dreams and capturing this exciting moment in your life was such an honor. You’re going to do amazing things at ASU and beyond – I just know it!

Kay Class of 2025 | Phoenix & Peoria Graduation Pictures & High School Photographer ANJEANETTE PHOTOGRAPHY
I am beyond excited to share this incredible senior portrait session with you! Recently, I had the privilege of photographing Kay, a beautiful and talented senior from Mountain Ridge High School's Class of 2025. Kay’s session was an absolute joy – filled with personality, color, and those sweet golden moments that make my heart sing.
When Kay’s mom reached out to book her senior pictures, I couldn’t have been more thrilled. I’ve known Kay and her family for years through the Mountain Ridge Marching Band where the family is very dear to myself and the entire band program. My son was a Mountain Ridge grad, so I help out with the band’s media team and their senior banners. Seeing Kay grow over these past four years has been such a gift. Now, she’s getting ready to take on the world, dual majoring in Music and Business! Talk about ambitious- and she is smart and determined too so she can make anything she wants to happen.
TRACK: Telekenisis By Tellsonic
We kicked off Kay’s senior portrait session at the Desert Botanical Garden, one of the best places to take senior pictures in Arizona. If you’ve never been, it’s a breathtaking location filled with vibrant desert plants, winding paths, and those iconic towering cacti. It’s hands down one of my favorite spots for senior photos near Phoenix!
The weather that day was pure magic. Overcast skies gave us this dreamy, soft light that made Kay’s photos pop with color and detail. You’d think overcast days would dull things down, but nope! The desert colors came alive. 🌵💚
Kay arrived with five outfits, each one perfectly showcased a different side of her personality. From a 70’s chic top, to a chic red top and leather skirt outfit and then suit that screamed confidence, she nailed every look. We strolled through the garden, capturing her natural smiles, contagious laughter, and those quiet, reflective moments that made her session feel so authentic. I love working with seniors who are ready to have fun and be themselves, and Kay was no exception.
I def felt a Stevie Nicks vibes at the end! When we headed to to Papago Park Kay wore a slinky dress and then a flowy lacey skirt and velvet top that added a perfect amount of drama to the mountain top. By this point, the sun was starting to peek through the clouds, and we caught the most gorgeous golden hour light. Papago’s iconic red rock formations were glowing, and the warm light wrapped around Kay like a hug. Seriously, it was magical. ✨
The sunset was being dramatic and I had her spinning around on top of with a green smoke grenade- very theatrical and rock-star cool. Watching the burst of color swirl around her was just so much fun. It added a bold and edgy vibe to her portraits, which perfectly balanced her softer, more whimsical looks from earlier. And yes, we made sure it was safe to use them and cleaned up after ‘leave no trace!’ Thanks mama for helping me clean up <3 .
Senior portrait sessions are about so much more than just photos. They’re about capturing this special, transitional moment in your life – the excitement, the nerves, the dreams for the future. And for me, it’s about celebrating YOU!
Kay’s session reminded me why I love what I do. She’s sweet, smart, and full of life. Seeing her shine in front of the camera was everything.
If you’re looking for high-quality senior pictures that are unique, fun, and full of personality, I’d love to work with you! My goal is to make your session stress-free and unforgettable. From picking the perfect locations to helping you feel confident in front of the camera, I’m here to create photos you’ll cherish forever.
So, if you’re asking yourself, “Where can I find senior portraits near me?” or “How do I book a photographer for my senior pictures in Phoenix?” – you’ve found the right place! Let’s make some magic together.
To Kay and her amazing family: thank you for trusting me with this milestone moment. Kay, you are a shining star, and I can’t wait to see all the incredible things you’ll achieve in college and beyond. You’ve got this! 💖
If you’re a senior or a parent of a senior looking for unique and affordable senior pictures in Arizona, let’s talk! Whether it’s Desert Botanical Garden, Papago Park, or another one of the top 10 places for senior pictures in Arizona, I can’t wait to capture your story.
Let’s make this your year to shine! ✨

Justin Class of 2025 | Phoenix & Peoria Graduation Pictures & High School Photographer ANJEANETTE PHOTOGRAPHY
Justin’s senior portrait session was one of the most unique shoots I’ve done this year! This Class of 2025 senior at Centennial High, he wanted something totally different—something that would reflect his style and personality and passions while being fun and memorable. Together we made it happen! We started the session at the West-MEC Big Rig campus and wrapped things up in the desert with some incredible shots featuring his car and smoke grenades. It was such a blast, and Justin absolutely nailed every moment. 🚛🌵
I always ask seniors their favorite kind of music or artist, so I can match their vibe with the artists I find on Epidemic Sound. For Justin I found the perfect fit with a track by Def Lev https://www.epidemicsound.com/track/V5NSEzbhfu/
The day started at West-MEC, and if you haven’t been there before, it’s such a cool location! The Big Rig campus has this industrial, rugged vibe that’s perfect for senior guys who want something more unique and edgy for their photos. The big trucks and equipment provided some amazing backdrops that made Justin’s session stand out. He brought a mix of casual and sharp outfits, which worked perfectly with the vibe of the location. His first look—his school work shirt and jeans—was so classic. Great choice for the West-MEC setting. We got shots of him leaning against a rig, looking confident and cool. These photos totally proved that senior pictures don’t have to be awkward or boring for guys. They can be fun and reflect who you are!
Justin’s personality shone through the whole session. He’s got this laid-back, chill vibe but also a fun, adventurous side, and we captured both. He joked about how he was a little nervous at first, but honestly, you’d never know it. By the time we got to his second outfit he was totally in his element. He even got some candid shots laughing and just hanging out near one of the rigs. I love how these moments turned out because they’re so authentic.
After wrapping up at West-MEC, we headed out to a desert loop in North Phoenix for the second half of the session. This was where Justin’s car came into play—and wow, what a cool feature to include! For any guys out there wondering if senior photos are “your thing,” bringing in something personal, like a car, can make all the difference. It’s a way to make the session about you and showcase something you’re proud of. Justin’s car added so much personality to the shoot, and it gave us some amazing photo opportunities.
The desert location was perfect for golden-hour lighting. The warm end-of-summer afternoon gave us that soft, golden glow that makes everything look magical. Justin switched into his third outfit—another casual but sharp look that matched the desert vibes. We found the perfect spot to park his car with the mountains in the background, and the combination of the car, the setting sun, and the desert landscape was kick ass. Now- this spot we had permission to use. It’s an abandoned road with very little traffic on it and we had dad also further down watching out just in case. Don’t try parking in the middle of the street just anywhere!
And then came the smoke grenades! This part of the session was such a highlight. Smoke grenades are such a fun way to add drama and creativity to a shoot, and Justin was all in for it. We positioned the grenades safely around his car, and the smoke added this moody, cinematic effect that looked incredible against the desert backdrop. The way the colors swirled and caught the light—it was next-level. Justin stood by his car with the smoke billowing around him, and he looked like he stepped out of an action movie poster. Seriously, these shots were unforgettable.
I think what made this session so special was how much it reflected Justin’s personality. From the industrial vibe at West-MEC to the adventurous feel of the desert, every part of the session told a little piece of his story. And that’s what senior photos should be about—capturing who you are at this amazing milestone in your life. For Justin, it wasn’t just about the photos (though they turned out incredible!). It was about celebrating his accomplishments, his interests, and his excitement for the future.
For anyone wondering, “Where can I find senior pictures near me that feel unique and fun?” or the “best places to take senior photos in Arizona for guys?,” the answer is all about finding a location that feels personal to you. Alek, Anthem Prep Class of 2025 | Anjeanette Photography Phoenix Senior Photographer
Last week, I had the best time with Alek at the Sonoran Mountain Preserve for his senior portrait session! Alek is an honor student at Anthem’s Great Hearts, and he brought such a cool, laid-back vibe to the session. His personality and handsome smile shines in every single photo!
The Sonoran Mountain Preserve is one of my favorite spots in Arizona for senior photos. The views are everything! The landscape has those iconic desert vibes that are so Arizona, with cacti scattered all around and mountains that stretch across the horizon. It's the kind of place that feels big and beautiful and it’s perfect for seniors who want a mix of epic backdrops with a relaxed atmosphere. This location is always at the top of my list when someone asks, "Where should I take my senior pictures?" because it’s perfect for those high-quality, timeless shots.
Alek arrived ready to make the most of his mini session with quick outfit changes. I love it when seniors bring their own style to the shoot! Alek brought a great mix of looks that showed off his personality perfectly. He was casual yet well-dressed, and the way he transformed a simple shirt with a blazer was such a smart move! (I always tell my seniors that layering is key if they want quick changes that don’t take up too much time!) It’s fun to see how just adding or swapping one piece can give a totally different vibe to the photos.
What really added that extra spark to Alek’s session, though, were the items he brought that were so personal to him. He brought along his tennis racket – his favorite, of course – and his go-to sweater from school. Incorporating personal items like these is one of the best ways to make a senior session unique. Each time Alek pulled out one of these items, his face would light up, and I could just see how meaningful these little pieces were to him. It reminded me of why I love these sessions so much; it’s about capturing who you are at this amazing milestone in life!
One of my favorite moments was when we got some shots of him with the desert sunset behind him. The way the light hit those mountains and cast a golden glow across the desert floor was unreal. That’s the magic of Arizona sunsets. There’s nothing like that glow to add warmth to photos, and Alek totally soaked it up – he was a natural! I could see his confidence come through, and it was such a cool transformation to watch.
I know finding the perfect photographer can feel a bit overwhelming. There are so many choices out there, and Phoenix photographers are definetly some of the best!!! You want to be sure the person behind the camera understands your vision. If you’re looking for a Phoenix senior photographer who can capture your unique style and personality, I’d love to work with you! The best part of these sessions is working with seniors to bring out their personality in ways that feel totally authentic and relaxed. That’s what we did with Alek, and I think his photos are going to bring back all the memories of his senior year for years to come.
Are you ready to capture your senior year in one of Arizona’s most beautiful locations? Whether you’re from SDOHS, Mountain Ridge, Liberty High, or even ASU Prep, I’d love to help you celebrate this time! There are so many incredible spots for senior photos in Arizona, and the Sonoran Mountain Preserve is just the start. Give me a shout to book your session, and let’s capture your story together!
Emerson Class of 2025 | Phoenix & Peoria Graduation Pictures & High School Photographer ANJEANETTE PHOTOGRAPHY
Emerson, from the class of 2025 at Rancho Salano High School, recently made the big move from Atlanta to Arizona. And let me tell you, she has embraced it all—both the soccer field and the wide-open beauty of the desert. When she showed up for her senior session, she was ready to shine, bringing along five different outfits that each told a little part of her story. It was like seeing a snapshot of her personality in every look.
We kicked off the session with her in this super sweet, casual combo: a simple white top and jeans. It was the perfect start—timeless, relaxed, and totally Emerson. She was so natural in front of the camera, laughing and having a great time. The jeans paired with the Arizona desert made for a perfect backdrop. She fit right in, like the desert was her second home now. Emerson had a plan to have some barefoot portraits to express carefree spirit.
Then came her blue jumper—such a cute look! The jumper had this cool, casual vibe that Emerson carried off effortlessly. She looked like she belonged in one of those dreamy fashion campaigns where everything seems fun and carefree. We found a spot with some desert greenery to bring out the contrast between her outfit and the landscape. It was picture-perfect. Emerson was full of smiles, and I think this was when she really hit her stride in front of the camera.
One of the coolest moments? That denim tank dress paired with her brand-new red boots. These boots were special—they were a gift from her parents when she got accepted to the University of Arizona. She was clearly proud, and they just popped against the desert sand. This outfit had that perfect mix of laid-back and bold. The boots, with their bright red, were a statement all on their own. Emerson just strutted through the desert like it was her personal runway. The look was all her—a mix of her past, her present, and the exciting future waiting for her at U of A.
Next up, Emerson stepped out in the cutest pink mini shift skirt with a hundred tiny hot pink bows. It was so fun and girly! You could tell this outfit was all about showing off her playful side. We found a spot under one of the Westwing Mountains where the light just streamed in perfectly, adding this golden glow that made her look even more radiant. She twirled, she posed, and she absolutely rocked it.
But the real magic came at sunset. Emerson slipped into a stunning red satin dress, and oh my goodness—what a stunner!! That dress against the Arizona sunset was a total vibe. The way the light hit the fabric, turning it almost into a glowing ember, was just breathtaking. Emerson looked incredible, standing there with the desert stretching out behind her, the mountains silhouetted against that blazing sky. It was a moment where everything just clicked—the dress, the colors, the setting, her confidence. You could see her future as bright as that sky.
Throughout the entire session, Emerson was nothing short of amazing- and in 110 degrees! She embraced the desert, the heat, and the little quirks that come with shooting outdoors. At one point, we were gently reminded that Arizona likes to throw in a surprise or two—she giggled her way through a breeze that tried to play with her hair, and when we weren’t dodging a few curious insects, we were chasing that perfect light. No matter what, she kept her spirits high and her smile even brighter.
Senior photos are all about capturing a moment in time, but for Emerson, they were more than that. These photos weren’t just about marking her senior year; they were about celebrating her transition—from life in Atlanta to finding her footing here in Arizona. She’s stepping into new opportunities, from her love of soccer to her new adventure at the University of Arizona, and each outfit reflected a piece of her journey. Whether she was in jeans, red boots, or that stunning satin dress, Emerson was capturing more than just a look—she was telling her story.
For anyone reading, senior photos are such an important way to celebrate who you are right now. They’re a reflection of all the hard work, dreams, and fun moments that have led to this point. Emerson’s session was a great reminder of that. She showed up with style, confidence, and a genuine excitement for the future, and that’s what these photos are all about.
I always say it’s about more than just taking pictures—it’s about capturing who you are in this moment. Emerson, with her love of soccer, her style, and her new desert home, showed exactly that. She’s got big things ahead, and her senior photos were just the start.
To all the seniors out there—let your photos reflect the person you are, the journey you’re on, and where you’re headed next. Emerson’s session at the Sonoran Preserve was the perfect blend of old and new, fun and fierce, casual and bold. Whether you’re a soccer player, a fashionista, or a little bit of both, make your senior photos your own.
And with that, Emerson’s session came to a close just as the sun dipped below the horizon. 📸✨ We had such a blast capturing all her different looks and vibes, from the casual cool of her jeans to the elegant drama of that red satin dress. Here’s to Emerson and all the incredible adventures coming her way! Cheers to a future as bright as that Arizona sunset. 🌅👗🎓

But Mooooom... When Senior Guys don't *think* they want a Senior Portrait Session - Phoenix Senior Photographer Anjeanette Photography
Senior year is a time of celebration, reflection, and capturing memories that will last a lifetime. For many moms, senior portraits are a cherished tradition, a way to freeze this fleeting moment in time. But what happens when your senior guy just isn’t into it? Many senior boys don’t care about photos, feel awkward in front of the camera, or think it’s not cool to care about senior portraits. This can create tension and frustration, especially for moms who value these keepsakes deeply.
I can honestly can tell you, Senior Guys sessions are my favorites- I love senior ladies but …some of my absolute best sessions have been for guys who didn’t think they wanted them, then turned into James Bond when they put on the suit mom “made” them wear. Most guys actually look forward to and enjoy their senior portraits, but they may not feel chatty about it. They have a lot of fun with them even if they feel uncertain at the beginning. theres this misconception that photo sessions are not hip with dudes- its not true even if they may tell each other that. Guys have just as many outfits, poses, and charm as the girls. I love it when guys bring a car, theirs or a friends. Or a jersey, or sword- seriously those sword session kick butt and are cool as heck. And if it is HIS idea…he will get into it mama!
I have seen this scenario at least a hundred times (no I am not exaggerating): You’ve booked a senior portrait session, chosen the perfect location, and even coordinated outfits. But your son, who could care less about photos, is dragging his feet. He feels awkward, self-conscious, and would rather be anywhere else than posing in front of a camera. He thinks showing enthusiasm for photos is like flexing, and he doesn’t want to come across as trying too hard. Meanwhile, you’re trying to make the best of it, but the session feels strained and uncomfortable.
Now, picture this frustration bubbling over. Your son’s reluctance turns into sullen behavior during the session. He’s uncooperative, his smile is forced, and the whole experience feels more like a chore than a celebration. As a mom, you’re heartbroken because you want these photos to reflect the joy and pride you feel for your son’s accomplishments. The tension between wanting perfect photos and respecting your son’s feelings can be overwhelming.
So, how do we bridge this gap? How do we turn a potentially stressful situation into a positive experience for senior guys and their parents? Here are some solutions that can make senior portrait sessions enjoyable and meaningful for everyone involved.
First and foremost, communication is key. Yeah I know I know, he def does NOT want to talk about it. so take a car ride and talk about it TO him, I promise he really is listening :)
Before the session, have an open conversation with your son about why these photos are important to you. Explain that senior portraits aren’t just about looking good; they’re about celebrating his journey and milestones. Share your feelings and listen to his concerns. Understanding each other’s perspectives can help ease some of the tension.
Next, consider a more relaxed approach to the session. Traditional portrait sessions can feel stiff and formal, which can be uncomfortable for someone who doesn’t like being in front of the camera. Keep the session short and sweet. My mini sessions are perfect for this, offering just enough time to capture a variety of shots without overwhelming your son. These shorter sessions are less intimidating and can be a great way to capture some fantastic shots without the pressure of a full-length session. They are designed to be quick and fun, ensuring that we get great photos without making it feel like a chore.
So, how can I help make this process smoother and more enjoyable for both you and your son? As an experienced photographer, I’ve worked with many seniors who were initially reluctant to have their photos taken. My goal is to make each session comfortable, fun, and tailored to the individual.
I understand that many senior guys feel uncomfortable or awkward in front of the camera. That’s why I take the time to get to know each client, ensuring that they feel relaxed and at ease during the session. We can start with simple poses and gradually move to more dynamic shots as your son becomes more comfortable. My experience has taught me how to bring out genuine smiles and capture the true essence of each senior.
One of the ways I make sessions enjoyable is by allowing your son to take the lead. Let him choose his outfits, even if they’re not what you would have picked. This gives him a sense of control and comfort, making the experience more enjoyable. Provide him with three location options unless he has his own ideas. This way, he feels involved in the planning process and more invested in the outcome. Now he may not have one clue or interest and you will need to pack his outfits, if he doesn’t care go for it! The point is to offer him the opportunity to make them what he wants.
If your son is into art, music, video games, sports or other activities, consider adding action as in my 2 hour Action Session. These sessions focus on capturing him doing what he loves, whether it’s playing basketball, D&D, skateboarding, or even playing an instrument. We go a place he feels good about: arcade, skate park, ball court. It’s a more dynamic and engaging way to showcase his personality and interests. Plus, he’ll feel more at ease in a familiar setting, doing something he enjoys.
During the session, I keep the atmosphere light and fun. Cracking jokes (even if they are super lame mom jokes like mine), playing his favorite music, or even bringing along a friend can help him relax. It’s all about creating a positive environment where he feels comfortable and can be himself. And remember, the goal isn’t to get the perfect posed shot but to capture his true spirit. Sometimes the best photos are the candid ones where he’s genuinely laughing or lost in thought.
Encourage your son to bring items that are meaningful to him. Whether it’s a sports jersey, a musical instrument, or a skateboard, incorporating personal elements can make the session more enjoyable and the photos more authentic. It’s a great way to showcase his unique personality and interests.
Finally, remind your son that these photos aren’t just for him—they’re for you too. Explain that having these memories captured is a gift that will mean the world to you. Sometimes, framing it as a way to make mom happy can be the extra motivation he needs to put in a bit of effort. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about making memories together.
Additionally, consider letting your son bring along someone who makes him feel at ease. Whether it’s dad, an older sibling, or a significant other, having a familiar face nearby can help him feel more relaxed and natural during the session. I have seen dudes light up for a significant other, especially if that person is into photos!! If he feels more comfortable without you being there, it’s okay to wait in the car or at home. This isn’t personally directed at you- often the guys who care about their moms the MOST are the ones most self-concious in front of them! They want to feel cool, and thats hard to do if a mom is there sometimes. Once i had a mom standing over my shoulder asking for his “real smile, like when you were in the 3rd grade and dumped ice cream on your lap!” eek! I know YOU wouldn’t do that mom. We can try starting it with you there, bring a friend of his, and if its not feeling good or getting the results you want, pop out for a water run or something! The goal is to create an environment where he can be himself, and he is growing up and wants portraits that reflect the man he is becoming.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to make the most of your senior portrait session:
Start with a Conversation: Discuss the importance of senior portraits and listen to your son’s concerns. Understanding each other’s perspectives can help ease tension.
Plan Together: Let your son choose his outfits and provide him with a few location options. This gives him a sense of control and makes him feel more comfortable.
Choose the Right Session: Consider a mini session or an action session tailored to his interests. These shorter, more dynamic sessions can make the experience more enjoyable.
Keep It Light: Create a fun and relaxed atmosphere during the session. Play his favorite music, crack jokes, and keep things light-hearted.
DO NOT MAKE HIM SMILE. I will ask, I run through a few poses and I direct prompts like “look at me, no smile, look to the left, chin down- look up at me” and then when the awkward warm up phase is over I do ask seniors to laugh at me- its weird, its dumb, they tell me so- and I encourage them to try it or give me a sift smile. I dont push it or force it. A forced smile is exactly that. Eventually by the end of the session he usually feel comfortable sharing a few smiles, even as a way to get it over with!
Incorporate Personal Elements: Encourage your son to bring items that reflect his personality and interests. This makes the photos more authentic and meaningful.
Bring a Friend or Family Member: Having someone he’s comfortable with can help him relax and enjoy the session. If he prefers, you can wait nearby or at home.
Focus on Candid Shots: Sometimes the best photos are the unplanned, candid moments. Encourage your son to be himself, and capture those genuine smiles and expressions. Cinematic photos where he is not looking into the camera, like in a movie poster.
Consider offering a faster ending IF he can cooperate until we get the needed shots! This wont effect the price, but if its a real dread offer to him that if the photographer gets the shots she needs for your photos we can end the session faster. This makes a mini session even mini-ier for him. and while this still has the same session fee, if he knows he can get ‘out of it’ faster we may get everything we need really fasy and in a happier fashion!
Do It for Mom: Remind your son that these photos are a gift to you as well. Framing it as a way to make mom happy can be a great motivator. He really does love you, even if he def doesn’t love photos.
I often have guys tell me “thats wasn’t as bad as I thought” or “that didn’t suck too bad” and even “that was a little fun actually”. High praise from a guy that was not looking forward to his session. A lot of guys secretly love it and I can tell!
By following these steps, you can turn a potentially stressful experience into a positive and enjoyable one. Senior portraits are about celebrating this important milestone and capturing your son’s true spirit.

5 Months to Make the most of Senior Year! | Senior Pictures near me, Phoenix Arizona
I’m here to help you navigate through this incredible year with a handy timeline and checklist to make sure you don’t miss a thing. Let’s dive into the must-dos for your senior year, from scheduling your senior portraits with me to marking those all-important yearbook dates and planning for special occasions like homecoming and prom.
Y’all, Senior year of high school is such an exciting time, filled with milestones, memories, and a lot to prepare for. I’m here to help you navigate through this incredible year with a handy timeline and checklist to make sure you don’t miss a thing. I remember being a first time senior parent and just barely making some of these dates despite my first senior being very organized and prepared- because you don’t know if you don’t know!
Let’s dive into the must-dos for your senior year, from scheduling your senior portraits with me to marking those all-important yearbook dates and planning for special occasions like homecoming and prom.
August - September: Kick Off the Year Right!
Get Organized: Start by getting a planner or calendar to keep track of important dates and deadlines. some schools provide them or great tracking apps.
Schedule Senior Portraits: One of the first things you’ll want to do is schedule your senior portraits with me. These photos are a major milestone, and we want to capture you at your best! Click here to book your session.
Schedule Yearbook Picture: You do need to make an appointment, usually with Dorian Studio or Grads, for the yearbook photo. No, you do not have to go to *JUST* the school yearbook photographer. BUT I THINK YOU’LL WANT TO DO BOTH! More about that here
Join Clubs and Activities: Get involved in school clubs and extracurricular activities. It’s a great way to make the most of your last year.
College Planning: Start researching colleges, preparing for the SAT/ACT, and planning college visits if you have not already. Remeber not every post graduation adventure has to be college! Take time to think about something you love doing, that you automatically go to and can do for hours without making yourself concentrate- it just feels natural and you get lost in it…then research places to further explore that interest. You really might be surprised what options are out there that do not involve a student loan. Colelege is fantastic, if it takes you to the path you want, or if you are not sure what that path is but know that classes excited you. But everyone has a different path and there are also amazing schools for music, art, mechanics, and other things that will help you find your passion and get you paid to do what you love too.
October - November: Capture the Moments
Homecoming: Homecoming is a special time, and you’ll want to capture it! Schedule a mini-session for homecoming photos. Trust me, these memories are worth it.
Yearbook Photos: Make sure you know the deadlines for your yearbook photos. Submit your senior portraits and any other required photos on time.
Start College Applications: Begin working on your college applications. Keep track of deadlines and make sure to get letters of recommendation from your teachers.
Senior Portraits: If you haven’t already, get your senior portraits done! We’ll create beautiful, timeless photos that you’ll cherish forever. Book your session here.
December - January: Mid-Year Checkpoint
Finalize College Applications: Complete and submit all your college applications. Double-check everything to make sure it’s perfect.
Holiday Photos: Consider scheduling a holiday-themed photo session with your friends or family. It’s a fun way to celebrate the season and make lasting memories.
Check Yearbook Deadlines: Make sure all your photos and entries for the yearbook are submitted. This includes senior quotes, baby photos, and any club or activity photos, and senior ads.
Cap and Gown: Order your cap and gown for graduation. It might seem early, but it’s better to be prepared.
Senior Portraits Reminder: If you still haven’t scheduled your senior portraits, now is the time! Don’t wait any longer to capture these special moments.
February - March: Focus on Fun
Plan for Prom: Start planning for prom. Schedule your prom photoshoot with me to ensure you get beautiful, professional photos of this unforgettable night.

April - May: The Home Stretch
Prom Night: Enjoy your prom night to the fullest! Schedule a pre-prom photoshoot to capture you and your friends in your glamorous outfits.
Senior Activities: Participate in all the senior activities and events your school offers. These are moments you’ll treasure.
Prepare for Graduation: Make sure you have everything you need for graduation day. Check the dates and plan your family celebrations.
Final Senior Portraits: If you want a few last-minute senior photos in your cap and gown, schedule a quick session. It’s a wonderful way to wrap up your senior year.
June: Celebrate and Reflect
Graduation Day: This is your big day! Enjoy every moment and take plenty of photos with family and friends.
Thank You Notes: Send thank you notes to teachers, mentors, and anyone who helped you along the way.

Dante SDOHS Class of 2022 | senior pictures near me Peoria AZ Senior Graduation Pictures by Phoenix Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography
What an unforgettable afternoon capturing Dante’s senior portrait session in the picturesque North Phoenix desert! Dante, a standout from Sandra Day O’Connor High School and the homecoming king, brought so much energy and charm to his session. His natural charisma and enthusiasm made the whole experience incredibly fun and dynamic.
Dante's session was set against the stunning backdrop of the North Phoenix desert. The rugged beauty of the desert, with its vast expanses and dramatic rock formations, provided the perfect setting to capture his vibrant spirit and accomplishments. The landscape was breathtaking, and Dante’s confidence shone through in every shot.
One of the highlights of the session was talking to Dante share stories about his high school journey. Becoming homecoming king was a significant milestone for him, and you could see the pride in his eyes as he talked about spending that evening with his girlfriend, who he met in the EaglePride Marching Band at OC. We incorporated this achievement into the session, capturing his regal demeanor with the stunning desert landscape as a backdrop.
As we explored different areas of the desert, we found some incredible spots that added a unique charm to the photos. There was a rugged rocky area where the setting sun cast a warm, golden glow over everything. The way the light played with the shadows created a dreamy, almost magical atmosphere. Dante’s silhouette against the sunset was absolutely mesmerizing, adding a touch of serenity and contemplation to the session.
Dante also brought along a few personal items that were meaningful to him, including his Sandra Day O’Connor cap and gown with many academic achievement cords and honor society stolle.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the sky transformed into a canvas of vibrant oranges and pinks. We wrapped up the session with a few final shots, capturing the last rays of sunlight.

Settle in and get ready for some exciting news, friends! I'm thrilled to share Addison's senior portrait session at the Mesa Arts Center in Phoenix, AZ. This session was filled with fun, creativity, and lots of laughter. Addie, a state champion track athlete from Mountain Ridge High School, is off to NAU after graduation. Can we just take a moment to celebrate this incredible achievement? 🎉
From the moment Addison arrived, I could tell this was going to be a fantastic session. Her enthusiasm and energy were infectious. We kicked things off at the Mesa Arts Center, a place known for its vibrant arts scene and stunning architecture. The blend of modern design and artistic flair provided a perfect backdrop for Addison's portraits.
Addison’s confidence shone through right away. We started with some dynamic shots, capturing her athletic prowess. The way she moved with such grace and strength was truly inspiring. Each pose was a testament to her dedication and hard work as a track athlete. The interplay of shadows and light on the architectural elements of the Arts Center added a dramatic touch to the photos. Talk about a strong start!

Each location offered something different, and Addison rocked every single shot. Her smile was radiant, and her excitement for the future was palpable. This girl is ready to take on the world!
One of my favorite moments was when we discovered one of a kind Bookstore. Addison’s outfit complemented the place perfectly. We captured some candid shots of her laughing and enjoying the moment. Her joy was contagious, and those spontaneous shots turned out to be some of my favorites. Oh man, I’m so glad we found that spot!
We didn’t stop there. Addison had brought along her track cleats, and we incorporated them into the session. She proudly displayed her hard-earned medals, and you could see the pride in her eyes. It was a powerful reminder of all she’s accomplished and how far she’s come. The medals added a personal touch to the portraits, making them even more special.
The golden hour light bathed everything in a warm glow, creating a magical atmosphere. Addison looked stunning with the sunset reflecting off her hair and skin. We captured some truly enchanting shots that highlighted her natural beauty and the serene ambiance of the evening.
We wrapped up the session with a few final shots as the sky turned into a canvas of pastel colors. Addison’s silhouette against the dreamy backdrop was mesmerizing. It was the perfect conclusion to a session filled with creativity, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

Hannah Mountain ridge Class of 2024 | Anjeanette Photography Phoenix Senior Photographer
I’m so excited to share Hannah’s senior mini portrait session in Phoenix, AZ. This session was an absolute delight, and I can’t wait for you to see the magic we created.
Hannah is a pride of the West State Champion marching band piccolo musician. Her talent and dedication have earned her a spot at Purdue after graduation. What an accomplishment! I’m so proud of her and thrilled to have captured this special moment in her life.
We chose Deem Hills for her session, and it was the perfect backdrop. The natural beauty of the hills, combined with the golden light of the sunset, created a stunning setting for Hannah’s portraits. She arrived with a big smile and an even bigger heart, ready to make some memories.
One of my favorite parts of the session was when we started with some casual shots. Hannah’s joy and enthusiasm were infectious. She played her piccolo, filling the air with beautiful music. It was like having our own private concert. Her passion for music shone through, making each photo come alive. And oh man, I’m so glad we did this! Her glow? A whole vibe!
As the session progressed, we moved to different spots around Deem Hills. Each location offered something unique. From the rocky terrain to the lush greenery, every angle was perfect. Hannah’s natural beauty and grace were evident in every shot. We captured a mix of posed and candid photos, each one telling a part of her story.
One of the highlights was the sunset portraits. The way the light bathed the hills in a warm, golden glow was simply magical. Hannah looked like a goddess with the sunset reflecting off her hair and skin. We found a perfect spot with the sun setting behind her, and the result was breathtaking. LOVE IT!
We had a few laughs along the way too. A curious lizard decided to join our session, and Hannah’s reaction was priceless. It’s those unexpected moments that add a touch of humor and make the experience memorable. We even managed to get a fun shot with our little friend in the background. These spontaneous moments are what make each session unique.
Hannah’s mom was there to support and cheer her on. The bond between them was heartwarming. We took a few shots of them together, capturing their special relationship. It’s always a joy to see the love and pride parents have for their seniors.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, we wrapped up the session with a few final shots. The sky was painted with hues of orange and pink, creating a dreamy backdrop. Hannah’s silhouette against the vibrant sky was stunning. It was the perfect end to a perfect session.
Hannah, your senior mini portrait session was an absolute joy! Your talent, beauty, and spirit made every moment special. Keep shining and chasing your dreams at Purdue. Your future is incredibly bright, and I can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll achieve. You’re a star! 🌟
For everyone reading, if you’re looking for a unique and unforgettable senior portrait session, Deem Hills is a fantastic choice. The natural beauty and dramatic skies provide the perfect setting for capturing those special moments. And remember, it’s all about having fun and being yourself. That’s when the magic happens!

DON’T I HAVE TO USE THE SCHOOL YEARBOOK COMPANY? | Anjeanette Photography Seniors Phoenix Az
No, you do not have to go to *JUST* the school yearbook photographer.
But I think you’ll want to do BOTH!
The schools portrait company is hired to take your yearbook mug-shot, tux or drape, and cap and gown. Unless otherwise stated that is the image they will use in the yearbook regardless. You are so much more than one shot!
Honestly, I love and have taken the traditional tux and drape shot. Its a classic! Secret Confession: I WAS a school yearbook photographer for 8 years- its a great business. One of the school the company I worked with service a high school that had large composites sheets from every year the school had been open- back to the 1920’s! It was amazing- and being a small town there were kiddos going to school with their great grandmothers, grandpa’s, and parents watching over them! Its timeless and sentimental and I loved it!
So get that yearbook pic and enjoy it. I suggest getting the school-approved print portrait package for a formal yearbook shot too. I bought my kid’s yearbook photos and senior photos from the school-approved studio too. I mean let’s face it I am the ideal client…I want all the images of my baby ha! But I also wanted something that REALLY showed off who they are and their personalities too.
..... what about YOU? Your hobbies and passions? Some schools allow independent photographers’ images- like mine- to also appear in your book. Regardless an individualized senior session is an important milestone. All other photographs beyond one formal headshot from the school’s photographer will be fast, cookie-cutter images, and they are completely optional to purchase!
Over and over I’ve been encountering seniors who believe that they must use the school photographer for all of their senior portraits. The school’s yearbook photography companies will attempt to lead you to believe that they are the ONLY photographers and you must go to them since they purchased a contract with your school for your photos, that is not true and you are not obligated to buy anything from them-
I encourage a classic formal portrait in cap & Gown or Tux or Drape- its a milestone shared by your parents and grandparents, an iconic part of the senior experience. But wait- there can be so much MORE!
AFTER THE YEARBOOK FORMAL ADD THE REAL YOU PERSONALITY AND ARTISTIC MODERN PORTRAIT FROM ANJEANETTE PHOTOGRAPHY!
You are free to make your choice about your senior photographer!
I encourage you to look around at several talented, small, independent photographers such as myself in your area. Make a decision based on the quality of their work. You will get better quality images, more time spent with you and more poses to choose from if you use an independent photographer with years of training and artistic experience.
The yearbook photography companies are usually high-volume studios that profit from getting students in and out quickly with just a few backgrounds- the same ones all of your class will have. And that’s their business model because it works- AND its inportant to get a photo of every kid. Not everyone will want a special session just for them and sad as that maes me personally hahah I want every kid in the yearbook. Sometimes when they are actually there in the yearbook folks studio they realize its a pretty cool experience and want more poses…You’ll still pay big bucks for your senior pictures at a bigger studio, but what you won’t realize is that you are paying for the business name. Consider your options. In the world of digital imagery, why would a studio only let you pick a few poses? Independent photographers will provide you with lots of options and will take the time to individually edit your images. They will take pride in their work because the images they produce will be a direct reflection of their abilities.
Do you charge more than the school photographer?
It really depends, however, most high-volume yearbook photographers charge more than I do for their sessions and products. Please compare our prices. ;)

Faith Sandra Day O'Connor Class of 2024 | Anjeanette Photography Phoenix Senior Photographer
Faith’s senior portrait session at Thunderbird Park in Glendale, AZ, was truly an unforgettable experience! Faith, an amazing young woman with a passion for childhood education, is already making waves by working in a daycare. You can see how much she loves it in her eyes!
She chose two outfits that were just perfect for the setting. First, she rocked a boho red shirt with jeans. The vibrant red contrasted beautifully with the natural surroundings of Thunderbird Park. Then, she slipped into a flowy black dress with cowboy boots that is so on trend with the Class of 2024. Both looks were spot-on, highlighting her unique style.
Thunderbird Park is a treasure trove of natural beauty, making it the ideal location for senior photos. The scenery is simply stunning, and we were blessed with perfect weather. We started shooting in the late afternoon, capturing the soft, flattering light. Faith was a total natural in front of the camera, exuding confidence and joy in every frame. Her blonde hair gleaming in the sunlight was simply gorgeous.
We explored the park, discovering fantastic spots along the way. One area, bursting with wildflowers, perfectly matched her boho outfit. Faith twirled and laughed, creating candid shots that truly captured her free spirit. The whole vibe was relaxed and fun, and she was absolutely glowing with happiness.
Golden hour was the pinnacle of the session. The sun’s warm, golden light bathed everything in a magical glow. Faith looked breathtaking in her black dress, her hair illuminated by the setting sun. The combination of the soft dress and the rugged park scenery was stunning. That glow? Pure magic!
Faith’s dedication to childhood education is truly inspiring. She shared stories about her daycare experiences and her future aspirations. Her nurturing spirit shines through, and it’s clear she’s on the right path. Capturing this milestone for her was a true privilege, and the photos reflect her beauty, kindness, and commitment to making a difference.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, we wrapped up the session with a few last shots. The sky was a canvas of oranges and pinks, creating a dreamy backdrop. Faith’s silhouette against this vibrant sky was mesmerizing and the perfect close to a fantastic session.
Faith, your senior portrait session was such a joy! Your warmth and enthusiasm made it truly special. Keep shining and following your dreams. You have an incredible future ahead, and I can’t wait to see what you achieve. You’re a star! 🌟 Remember, the key to fantastic photos is to have fun and be yourself. That’s when the magic happens!

Charlotte's BFF session with friends | Anjeanette Photography Phoenix Senior Photographer
Charlotte's BFF senior session was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment her friends arrived, the energy was off the charts. This wasn’t just a photo shoot – it was a celebration of friendship, laughter, and the end of an amazing high school journey.
Charlotte and her besties chose stunning Papago park for their session. The sun was shining, and the light filtering through the trees created the most beautiful glow. We started with some group shots to capture their bond. The way they interacted was so genuine and heartwarming. You could tell these friendships were built to last a lifetime.
Each of Charlotte’s friends brought their unique style to the session. From trendy outfits to casual chic, the variety was incredible. We had a blast incorporating their personalities into the photos. One of my favorite moments was when they all jumped in the air together, their joy perfectly captured in that split second. LOVE IT!
We also took some individual shots of each friend. It was important to highlight their individual achievements and personalities. They’ve all come so far and have such bright futures ahead. Charlotte, the star of the day, was radiant. Her confidence and happiness shone through in every shot. This glow is a whole vibe! 🌟
As the sun started to set, we captured some amazing golden hour shots. The light was perfect, casting a warm glow that added a magical touch to the photos. Charlotte and her friends were in awe of the beautiful colors in the sky, and it made for some truly stunning images. The whole scene felt like a dream.
By the end of the session, it was clear that these photos were more than just pictures. They were memories. Capturing this important milestone with the people who matter most to you is priceless. Charlotte and her friends will have these photos to look back on and remember all the good times they shared.

Maxie Perry High class of 2024 | Anjeanette Photography Phoenix Senior Photographer
Maxie's senior portrait session on Roosevelt Row was absolutely incredible! Maxie isn't just any senior; he's also a photographer. He knows how to work the camera, both in front of and behind it.
We started the sesh with Maxie showing up in the first of two fantastic outfits. Each one was on point. First, he had this casual, red polo and relaxed denims look that was effortlessly stylish. Then he switched it up with a crisp brown shirt and edgy black jeans.Every look was a total hit. LOVE IT!
Roosevelt Row is the perfect spot for photos. The murals, vibrant colors, and artsy atmosphere make it an ideal backdrop. And Maxie nailed every pose. Honestly, it was like he’d been modeling forever. 📸
One of my favorite moments was when we checked out the 1 1/2 Street Mural alley behind The Churchill. Maxie stood in front of it, and hopped up on a nearby set of mailboxes to hit all the angle. The contrast was just perfect. His posing was spot on, and we captured some stunning shots. It was like the mural was made for him. The energy of Roosevelt Row matched Maxie's personality so well – friendly, confident, and just cool.
The best part of the session was the laughter and fun we had. At one point, some curious passerbys decided to join our shoot. Why do people always ask “Are you taking photos?” Maxie took it all in stride, laughing and making the best of every moment. It’s those unexpected moments that make the shoot so unique. City Life! It isn’t just about the photos; it’s about the experience.
Maxie told me about his love for photography and it really shone through when he described some real estate work he was part of. He’s been taking photos for himself and his school, and you can tell he’s got an eye for it. His passion is contagious, and it made the session even more enjoyable. Seeing him so engaged and excited was truly inspiring.
We ended the day with some golden hour shots on top of the 1st street garage, and the lighting was perfect. That glow was everything. Maxie looked absolutely radiant, and the photos captured that dreamy, warm light beautifully. It was the perfect way to wrap up an amazing session.
Maxie, you are a star! Your senior session was one for the books. Keep being awesome and chasing your dreams. Your talent and passion for photography are going to take you far, and I can’t wait to see what you do next.
If you’re looking for a spot that’s full of life and color for your senior portraits, Roosevelt Row is the place to be. And remember, it’s all about having fun and being yourself. That’s when the magic happens!
Thanks for tagging along on this adventure with Maxie and me. Until next time, keep shining and making memories! 📸✨

There's fire, and there's FIRE | Indoor studio sessions for summer: Anjeanette Photography Phoenix Senior Photographer
Hey everyone! Let’s talk about why senior photos in a studio are so chic and totally trending right now! 📸✨ I know, I know, the thought of studio photos might bring back memories of those awkward school photo sessions with weird props and stiff poses. But trust me, my studio sessions are NOTHING like that! We're all about capturing your unique style and making sure you look fab.
First off, studio photos are super fashionable. They give off this sleek, modern vibe that's just perfect for senior portraits. The controlled lighting in a studio means we can create all sorts of cool looks, from soft and dreamy to bold and dramatic. Natural lighting and or strobe flash. It's all about showcasing your personality and making you look like a total stunner!
And let's be real, Arizona summers are HOT. When the temperature hits over 95 degrees, there's no way we’re doing an outdoor shoot. Here’s why I only do studio sessions when it's blazing outside:
Safety First: We don’t want anyone getting heatstroke. It's serious business. Staying indoors means everyone stays cool and safe.
Skin Matters: Greasy, shiny skin from sweat? Not cute. And trust me, it shows up in photos, highlighting every bump and texture. In the studio, your skin stays fresh and flawless.
Makeup Meltdown: Even with the best setting spray, makeup can melt right off in the heat. In the studio, your makeup stays put, keeping you looking fabulous throughout the session.
Fresh Faces: Heat can make your eyes and face look tired. We want bright, vibrant expressions, not the look of someone who just ran a marathon!
Equipment Overheat: My camera gear does not love the heat. Keeping everything cool ensures we get the best shots without any technical hiccups.
Now, I do have a small studio space in North Phoenix, but there are some amazing studio options in Phoenix. Each place has its own vibe and unique charm. TO NAME A FEW:
Studio House AZ, Downtown Phoenix: This spot has such an urban, artsy feel. Perfect for those looking to capture a bit of the city’s edge.
Parkwood Studios, Midtown Phoenix: A versatile space that can go from classic to contemporary in a heartbeat. This places looks like a Hollywood sesh. Love it!
Stone Studios, Mesa: Known for its rustic charm and natural light. If you’re into a more organic, laid-back look, this is your place.
Casa Peony, Scottsdale: Totally chic and glamorous. Ideal for those who want a touch of elegance in their photos.
And don’t worry, we’ve got some great options in Peoria and North Phoenix too. Wherever you are, there’s a fab studio nearby to make your senior photos pop!
I can’t stress enough how studio sessions can elevate your senior portraits. It’s all about capturing YOU in the best light (literally) and making sure your photos are as unique and awesome as you are. No awkward props, no outdated poses. Just pure, fashionable fun!
So, why are studio sessions so popular? It’s simple. They offer a controlled environment where we can play with lighting, backdrops, and your style to create photos that are totally YOU. Plus, we avoid all the hassle that comes with shooting in extreme heat. Trust me, once you go studio, you won’t look back!
If you’re ready to rock your senior portraits and create some stunning memories, let’s get in the studio and make some magic happen. Your senior year is a big deal, and your photos should be too. Can’t wait to see you shine! 🌟📸✨
Until next time, stay cool and keep slaying!

Ricky Mountain Ridge High Class of 2022 |
Shooting Ricky’s senior portraits was such an adventure! 🌟 The day turned out to be one of the hottest spring days, and let me tell you, it was scorching. But the lush, green surroundings were so stunning that we didn’t even mind the heat and Ricky didn’t let em see she sweat. It was like stepping into a wonderland at Rio Salado Park with the water features, tall trees, grassy paths and wildflowers. A very un-Arizona oasis.
Ricky is graduating from Mountain Ridge High School, Class of 2022, and she has the most amazing spirit. She's decided to take a gap year after high school, which I think is such a smart move. Finals, activities, winter guard, color guard with the marching band—she was involved in so much! I am not sure she was initially excited about senior portraits even because this kid was suffering some serious burnout after a long year. It makes total sense to take a breather. Plus, she might want to explore medical careers after her break. How cool is that?
The vibe of the shoot was seriously on point. After realizing Senior pictures can be FUN Ricky started enjoying herself, and she had picked out the coolest boho outfits that totally matched her free spirit and unique aesthetic. Each outfit was like a new chapter in her story. From sweet dresses to striped wide legged pants, everything just screamed Ricky. And the way she posed! Like a natural. It was like she’d been modeling her whole life.
During the shoot, we talked about her plans and dreams. Taking a gap year is such a great idea, especially after the intense last few years. Ricky’s got big dreams and taking time to recharge and explore is so important. Maybe she'll end up in the medical field, helping people and making a difference. With her determination, I know she’ll succeed in whatever she chooses.
The location we picked was perfect. The greenery and natural beauty provided a perfect backdrop. The contrast of Ricky’s boho outfits against the lush scenery was pure magic. Every shot was a hit, capturing her essence and joy. And let's not forget the weather. It was 108 degrees with crazy humidity. But Ricky handled it like a champ, smiling through the convection oven waves. 🌞 the photos do not show the heat except the heat of how awesome she looked!
Golden hour light at the end of the session gave everything a magical glow. Ricky was absolutely radiant, the warm tones highlighting her features and making her look like a goddess. This glow is a whole vibe! 🌅
We also had a bit of fun with smoke grenades. Ricky wanted to check out the Grand Street murals down the street so we fired up a red one and she danced through the smoke blooms. these grenades are epic- I love them and seeing how each senior uniquely interacts with them while I snap away to create kick ass portraits.
By the end of the shoot, we were all exhausted but so happy with how everything turned out. Ricky’s senior portraits are more than just photos—they’re memories. They capture a moment in time, a milestone, and the beginning of a new chapter.
I’m so proud of Ricky and can’t wait to see what she does next. Whether she’s traveling the world during her gap year or diving into medical studies, she’s got a bright future ahead. Ricky, you’re a total star! 🌟 Keep shining and chasing your dreams. The world is yours for the taking, and I know you’ll do amazing things.
Thanks for letting me be part of this special moment in your life. Your photos turned out stunning, and I hope you love them as much as I do. Here’s to new adventures, unforgettable moments, and making dreams come true! 📸✨
Alright, friends, that’s a wrap on Ricky’s senior session! I can’t wait to share these beautiful moments with you all. Stay tuned for more awesome senior stories and gorgeous photos. Until next time, keep shining!
