Riley Class of 2025 | Anjeanette Photography Phoenix Senior Photographer
This kids going places! Artist and actor Riley has been flying around the country auditions and vetting colleges for a major in Musical theatre- as you can imagine spots in the programs are extremely sought after and as a result the competition is high with each college only taking a small number each year. Beyond the normal college application process and essays etc, Musical theatre hopefuls also have sing, monologue, and dance auditions! I think Riley talked about 5 different schools she was considering, although she was applying to many more. She has an edge though, having already performed in musicals and preparing for this for years.
This musical actress was even nominated for a Lead Actress ariZoni Award for her performance as Lina Lamont in CYT’S 2022 production of “Singin’ in the Rain” and chosen by her cast members to receive the Rose of Sharon Award.
So before we headed over to Stelle India Park for senior photos in flowy dresses and classic Chuck’s, we stopped at Afternoon Studio for Acting Portfolio Headshots! Approachable, energetic, and charismatic smile- a winning combination to make your best first impression. And everything your looking for in an acting or modeling headshot where decisions are made in split seconds- you have to stand out.
Riley has all of these characteristics and more, her smile is cool and vibrant, only surpassed by a fantastic laugh and authentic personality. She is sure to take her dreams to reality with her determination, and I look forward to seeing her light up the world someday!
If you’re considering a senior portrait session in Phoenix, locations like Steele Indian Park are an amazing option in Phoenix, offering a balance of modern design, stunning light, and a connection to your personal journey. Whether you’re wrapping up high school or college, choosing a spot that holds significance to you makes all the difference. And we can always add on Pro Headshots to give you the competitive edge!
Riley, thank you for letting me document this chapter of your life! Your determination, personality, and enthusiasm for the future make you unforgettable. I can’t wait to see all the incredible things you’ll do as you sing and dance in college—you’re going to own it!

Brady Paradise Valley Christian Class of 2025 | Phoenix & Peoria Graduation Pictures & High School Photographer ANJEANETTE PHOTOGRAPHY
Brady’s senior portrait session was packed with adventure, personality, and just the right amount of Arizona sunshine. This Paradise Valley Christian senior brought a BMX bike, dirt ramps, and his chill vibe to the Peoria Desert—and dang, did it all come together! The whole day felt like a celebration, not just of Brady’s accomplishments, but of who he is: smart, fun, talented, and ready for the future.
Brady chose the mini session - which I literally designed around guys who just want photos for their mama and not a huge long hassle. I def don’t think longer sessions are hassles 😂 but photos are my thing, if they are NOT your thing the short and sweet mini is the way to go! Brady didn’t want 200 photos or more than a couple of outfits so the mini was the perfect fit.
Just because it’s a quick session doesn’t mean it has to be boring though- the Peoria Desert Preserve was the perfect backdrop for Brady’s session. There’s something about the desert’s raw beauty—the rugged terrain, the muted tones, and the way the light dances through the brush—that makes every photo feel timeless. But this wasn’t your typical desert shoot. Brady had a vision, and it included his BMX bike and the dirt ramps tucked away in the Peoria Preserve. Yes, we hit the ramps, and yes, it was amazing!
We started the session as the late afternoon light softened, creating that golden, dreamy glow photographers adore. Brady was totally in his element, and it showed in every frame. Whether he was casually leaning on his bike or catching air over the ramps, he brought an easy confidence to the shoot. It’s always exciting when seniors bring something personal to their session—it makes the photos so much more than portraits. They become a snapshot of who you are at this moment in your life.
What stood out to me most about Brady was how effortlessly cool and laid-back he was. He didn’t overthink the poses or try to put on a show; he just was. That kind of authenticity is what makes senior pictures unforgettable.
One of my favorite parts of the day was how we incorporated movement into the shoot. Brady’s BMX bike wasn’t just a prop—it was part of the action. Whether he was mid-jump or casually rolling across the frame, those moments added energy and excitement to the session. And let’s be honest, it’s not every day you get to photograph a senior doing BMX tricks in the middle of the desert.
The Peoria Preserve’s dirt ramps were a hidden gem. I’m 90% sure the ramps were created by neighborhood kids and they get more elaborate and kick ass every year! They gave us this incredible mix of textures—the soft desert sand, the rugged dirt trails between Saguaro Cacti, and the wide-open sky overhead. It was the kind of location that makes you want to shoot there every day. As the session wrapped up, the sun dipped lower, casting long shadows and turning the sky into a canvas of soft pinks and oranges. Those final moments were pure magic. Brady stood with his bike against the backdrop of the desert sunset, and it felt like the perfect closing chapter to his senior portraits.
Senior year is such an exciting time. It’s full of possibilities, reflection, and—let’s be honest—a little chaos. Capturing that in a way that feels personal and true is what makes senior portrait sessions so special. For Brady, it was all about blending his love for BMX, his laid-back personality, and the beauty of Arizona. And together, we created images that are as unique as he is.
If you’re thinking about your own senior portraits and wondering where to start, locations like the Peoria Desert are a fantastic choice. It’s one of the best places to take senior photos in Arizona, offering versatility, natural beauty, and endless possibilities for creativity. Whether you’re into sports, fashion, or something completely unexpected, we can create a session that feels just right for you.
Want to see what makes my senior sessions stand out? Check out more here and start planning your perfect portrait experience.
Brady, you crushed this session! From the dirt ramps to the golden light, every moment felt like it captured who you are right now. Here’s to finishing senior year strong and chasing big dreams—you’ve got this!
Let’s make magic happen for your senior portraits too. Ready to book your Phoenix high school senior graduation portraits in Arizona? I’d love to help you tell your story. Let’s do this!

Remy Class of 2025 | Phoenix & Peoria Graduation Pictures & High School Photographer ANJEANETTE PHOTOGRAPHY
TRACK: Neon Desert By Coma Svensson
Meet Remy, a Class of 2025 senior who traveled all the way from the Pacific Northwest to sunny Arizona for his senior pictures. Remy has big dreams of becoming a SunDevil, so it made perfect sense for him to choose the ASU campus as the backdrop for his senior portraits. ASU is hands down ( or Forks Up) one of the best places to take senior photos in Arizona! Between the mix of modern architecture, lush green spaces, and that signature desert sunshine, it’s a photographer’s dream.
When Remy’s mom reached out to book his senior pictures, I couldn’t wait to plan a session that captured both his laid-back personality and his excitement about ASU. We started near Old Main – one of the most iconic spots at ASU. The historic brick building, with its gorgeous landscaping and sprawling lawns, was the perfect backdrop to kick off the session. Remy’s easygoing personality shone through right away. This guy is cool, confident, and just plain fun to be around!
Mom wanted to schedule during winter break when they were visiting- and again I have to say breaks are the PERFECT time for campus photos. No lines for iconic spots, and no crowds in the background of your photos.
One of my favorite things about working with seniors is seeing their personalities come to life in front of the camera. And Remy? He made my job so easy! He brought a mix of outfits that perfectly reflected who he is. From a classic button-down for those timeless shots to a casual ASU ball cap and sweaters, every look was on point. His confidence, paired with his sweet and grounded personality, made for some seriously authentic and dynamic shots.
Coming to Arizona for his senior pictures was such a cool way to celebrate his SunDevil dreams. The contrast between his PNW roots and the sunny Arizona setting made this session so special. It’s not every day you get to photograph someone who traveled across states for their senior pictures – talk about dedication!
And let’s talk about that Arizona sunshine for a second. 🌞 While we had plenty of bright light to work with, the golden hour on campus was pure perfection. The way the light wrapped around Remy in those final shots of the day? Absolutely magical.
Senior pictures are more than just photos. They’re a celebration of who you are right now – your journey, your dreams, and everything that makes you you. Remy’s session reminded me of just how special this milestone is.
Watching him light up as he talked about his plans for ASU and capturing that excitement in his portraits was so rewarding. This wasn’t just about taking pictures; it was about telling his story.

Alek, Anthem Prep Class of 2025 | Anjeanette Photography Phoenix Senior Photographer
Last week, I had the best time with Alek at the Sonoran Mountain Preserve for his senior portrait session! Alek is an honor student at Anthem’s Great Hearts, and he brought such a cool, laid-back vibe to the session. His personality and handsome smile shines in every single photo!
The Sonoran Mountain Preserve is one of my favorite spots in Arizona for senior photos. The views are everything! The landscape has those iconic desert vibes that are so Arizona, with cacti scattered all around and mountains that stretch across the horizon. It's the kind of place that feels big and beautiful and it’s perfect for seniors who want a mix of epic backdrops with a relaxed atmosphere. This location is always at the top of my list when someone asks, "Where should I take my senior pictures?" because it’s perfect for those high-quality, timeless shots.
Alek arrived ready to make the most of his mini session with quick outfit changes. I love it when seniors bring their own style to the shoot! Alek brought a great mix of looks that showed off his personality perfectly. He was casual yet well-dressed, and the way he transformed a simple shirt with a blazer was such a smart move! (I always tell my seniors that layering is key if they want quick changes that don’t take up too much time!) It’s fun to see how just adding or swapping one piece can give a totally different vibe to the photos.
What really added that extra spark to Alek’s session, though, were the items he brought that were so personal to him. He brought along his tennis racket – his favorite, of course – and his go-to sweater from school. Incorporating personal items like these is one of the best ways to make a senior session unique. Each time Alek pulled out one of these items, his face would light up, and I could just see how meaningful these little pieces were to him. It reminded me of why I love these sessions so much; it’s about capturing who you are at this amazing milestone in life!
One of my favorite moments was when we got some shots of him with the desert sunset behind him. The way the light hit those mountains and cast a golden glow across the desert floor was unreal. That’s the magic of Arizona sunsets. There’s nothing like that glow to add warmth to photos, and Alek totally soaked it up – he was a natural! I could see his confidence come through, and it was such a cool transformation to watch.
I know finding the perfect photographer can feel a bit overwhelming. There are so many choices out there, and Phoenix photographers are definetly some of the best!!! You want to be sure the person behind the camera understands your vision. If you’re looking for a Phoenix senior photographer who can capture your unique style and personality, I’d love to work with you! The best part of these sessions is working with seniors to bring out their personality in ways that feel totally authentic and relaxed. That’s what we did with Alek, and I think his photos are going to bring back all the memories of his senior year for years to come.
Are you ready to capture your senior year in one of Arizona’s most beautiful locations? Whether you’re from SDOHS, Mountain Ridge, Liberty High, or even ASU Prep, I’d love to help you celebrate this time! There are so many incredible spots for senior photos in Arizona, and the Sonoran Mountain Preserve is just the start. Give me a shout to book your session, and let’s capture your story together!
Emerson Class of 2025 | Phoenix & Peoria Graduation Pictures & High School Photographer ANJEANETTE PHOTOGRAPHY
Emerson, from the class of 2025 at Rancho Salano High School, recently made the big move from Atlanta to Arizona. And let me tell you, she has embraced it all—both the soccer field and the wide-open beauty of the desert. When she showed up for her senior session, she was ready to shine, bringing along five different outfits that each told a little part of her story. It was like seeing a snapshot of her personality in every look.
We kicked off the session with her in this super sweet, casual combo: a simple white top and jeans. It was the perfect start—timeless, relaxed, and totally Emerson. She was so natural in front of the camera, laughing and having a great time. The jeans paired with the Arizona desert made for a perfect backdrop. She fit right in, like the desert was her second home now. Emerson had a plan to have some barefoot portraits to express carefree spirit.
Then came her blue jumper—such a cute look! The jumper had this cool, casual vibe that Emerson carried off effortlessly. She looked like she belonged in one of those dreamy fashion campaigns where everything seems fun and carefree. We found a spot with some desert greenery to bring out the contrast between her outfit and the landscape. It was picture-perfect. Emerson was full of smiles, and I think this was when she really hit her stride in front of the camera.
One of the coolest moments? That denim tank dress paired with her brand-new red boots. These boots were special—they were a gift from her parents when she got accepted to the University of Arizona. She was clearly proud, and they just popped against the desert sand. This outfit had that perfect mix of laid-back and bold. The boots, with their bright red, were a statement all on their own. Emerson just strutted through the desert like it was her personal runway. The look was all her—a mix of her past, her present, and the exciting future waiting for her at U of A.
Next up, Emerson stepped out in the cutest pink mini shift skirt with a hundred tiny hot pink bows. It was so fun and girly! You could tell this outfit was all about showing off her playful side. We found a spot under one of the Westwing Mountains where the light just streamed in perfectly, adding this golden glow that made her look even more radiant. She twirled, she posed, and she absolutely rocked it.
But the real magic came at sunset. Emerson slipped into a stunning red satin dress, and oh my goodness—what a stunner!! That dress against the Arizona sunset was a total vibe. The way the light hit the fabric, turning it almost into a glowing ember, was just breathtaking. Emerson looked incredible, standing there with the desert stretching out behind her, the mountains silhouetted against that blazing sky. It was a moment where everything just clicked—the dress, the colors, the setting, her confidence. You could see her future as bright as that sky.
Throughout the entire session, Emerson was nothing short of amazing- and in 110 degrees! She embraced the desert, the heat, and the little quirks that come with shooting outdoors. At one point, we were gently reminded that Arizona likes to throw in a surprise or two—she giggled her way through a breeze that tried to play with her hair, and when we weren’t dodging a few curious insects, we were chasing that perfect light. No matter what, she kept her spirits high and her smile even brighter.
Senior photos are all about capturing a moment in time, but for Emerson, they were more than that. These photos weren’t just about marking her senior year; they were about celebrating her transition—from life in Atlanta to finding her footing here in Arizona. She’s stepping into new opportunities, from her love of soccer to her new adventure at the University of Arizona, and each outfit reflected a piece of her journey. Whether she was in jeans, red boots, or that stunning satin dress, Emerson was capturing more than just a look—she was telling her story.
For anyone reading, senior photos are such an important way to celebrate who you are right now. They’re a reflection of all the hard work, dreams, and fun moments that have led to this point. Emerson’s session was a great reminder of that. She showed up with style, confidence, and a genuine excitement for the future, and that’s what these photos are all about.
I always say it’s about more than just taking pictures—it’s about capturing who you are in this moment. Emerson, with her love of soccer, her style, and her new desert home, showed exactly that. She’s got big things ahead, and her senior photos were just the start.
To all the seniors out there—let your photos reflect the person you are, the journey you’re on, and where you’re headed next. Emerson’s session at the Sonoran Preserve was the perfect blend of old and new, fun and fierce, casual and bold. Whether you’re a soccer player, a fashionista, or a little bit of both, make your senior photos your own.
And with that, Emerson’s session came to a close just as the sun dipped below the horizon. 📸✨ We had such a blast capturing all her different looks and vibes, from the casual cool of her jeans to the elegant drama of that red satin dress. Here’s to Emerson and all the incredible adventures coming her way! Cheers to a future as bright as that Arizona sunset. 🌅👗🎓

But Mooooom... When Senior Guys don't *think* they want a Senior Portrait Session - Phoenix Senior Photographer Anjeanette Photography
Senior year is a time of celebration, reflection, and capturing memories that will last a lifetime. For many moms, senior portraits are a cherished tradition, a way to freeze this fleeting moment in time. But what happens when your senior guy just isn’t into it? Many senior boys don’t care about photos, feel awkward in front of the camera, or think it’s not cool to care about senior portraits. This can create tension and frustration, especially for moms who value these keepsakes deeply.
I can honestly can tell you, Senior Guys sessions are my favorites- I love senior ladies but …some of my absolute best sessions have been for guys who didn’t think they wanted them, then turned into James Bond when they put on the suit mom “made” them wear. Most guys actually look forward to and enjoy their senior portraits, but they may not feel chatty about it. They have a lot of fun with them even if they feel uncertain at the beginning. theres this misconception that photo sessions are not hip with dudes- its not true even if they may tell each other that. Guys have just as many outfits, poses, and charm as the girls. I love it when guys bring a car, theirs or a friends. Or a jersey, or sword- seriously those sword session kick butt and are cool as heck. And if it is HIS idea…he will get into it mama!
I have seen this scenario at least a hundred times (no I am not exaggerating): You’ve booked a senior portrait session, chosen the perfect location, and even coordinated outfits. But your son, who could care less about photos, is dragging his feet. He feels awkward, self-conscious, and would rather be anywhere else than posing in front of a camera. He thinks showing enthusiasm for photos is like flexing, and he doesn’t want to come across as trying too hard. Meanwhile, you’re trying to make the best of it, but the session feels strained and uncomfortable.
Now, picture this frustration bubbling over. Your son’s reluctance turns into sullen behavior during the session. He’s uncooperative, his smile is forced, and the whole experience feels more like a chore than a celebration. As a mom, you’re heartbroken because you want these photos to reflect the joy and pride you feel for your son’s accomplishments. The tension between wanting perfect photos and respecting your son’s feelings can be overwhelming.
So, how do we bridge this gap? How do we turn a potentially stressful situation into a positive experience for senior guys and their parents? Here are some solutions that can make senior portrait sessions enjoyable and meaningful for everyone involved.
First and foremost, communication is key. Yeah I know I know, he def does NOT want to talk about it. so take a car ride and talk about it TO him, I promise he really is listening :)
Before the session, have an open conversation with your son about why these photos are important to you. Explain that senior portraits aren’t just about looking good; they’re about celebrating his journey and milestones. Share your feelings and listen to his concerns. Understanding each other’s perspectives can help ease some of the tension.
Next, consider a more relaxed approach to the session. Traditional portrait sessions can feel stiff and formal, which can be uncomfortable for someone who doesn’t like being in front of the camera. Keep the session short and sweet. My mini sessions are perfect for this, offering just enough time to capture a variety of shots without overwhelming your son. These shorter sessions are less intimidating and can be a great way to capture some fantastic shots without the pressure of a full-length session. They are designed to be quick and fun, ensuring that we get great photos without making it feel like a chore.
So, how can I help make this process smoother and more enjoyable for both you and your son? As an experienced photographer, I’ve worked with many seniors who were initially reluctant to have their photos taken. My goal is to make each session comfortable, fun, and tailored to the individual.
I understand that many senior guys feel uncomfortable or awkward in front of the camera. That’s why I take the time to get to know each client, ensuring that they feel relaxed and at ease during the session. We can start with simple poses and gradually move to more dynamic shots as your son becomes more comfortable. My experience has taught me how to bring out genuine smiles and capture the true essence of each senior.
One of the ways I make sessions enjoyable is by allowing your son to take the lead. Let him choose his outfits, even if they’re not what you would have picked. This gives him a sense of control and comfort, making the experience more enjoyable. Provide him with three location options unless he has his own ideas. This way, he feels involved in the planning process and more invested in the outcome. Now he may not have one clue or interest and you will need to pack his outfits, if he doesn’t care go for it! The point is to offer him the opportunity to make them what he wants.
If your son is into art, music, video games, sports or other activities, consider adding action as in my 2 hour Action Session. These sessions focus on capturing him doing what he loves, whether it’s playing basketball, D&D, skateboarding, or even playing an instrument. We go a place he feels good about: arcade, skate park, ball court. It’s a more dynamic and engaging way to showcase his personality and interests. Plus, he’ll feel more at ease in a familiar setting, doing something he enjoys.
During the session, I keep the atmosphere light and fun. Cracking jokes (even if they are super lame mom jokes like mine), playing his favorite music, or even bringing along a friend can help him relax. It’s all about creating a positive environment where he feels comfortable and can be himself. And remember, the goal isn’t to get the perfect posed shot but to capture his true spirit. Sometimes the best photos are the candid ones where he’s genuinely laughing or lost in thought.
Encourage your son to bring items that are meaningful to him. Whether it’s a sports jersey, a musical instrument, or a skateboard, incorporating personal elements can make the session more enjoyable and the photos more authentic. It’s a great way to showcase his unique personality and interests.
Finally, remind your son that these photos aren’t just for him—they’re for you too. Explain that having these memories captured is a gift that will mean the world to you. Sometimes, framing it as a way to make mom happy can be the extra motivation he needs to put in a bit of effort. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about making memories together.
Additionally, consider letting your son bring along someone who makes him feel at ease. Whether it’s dad, an older sibling, or a significant other, having a familiar face nearby can help him feel more relaxed and natural during the session. I have seen dudes light up for a significant other, especially if that person is into photos!! If he feels more comfortable without you being there, it’s okay to wait in the car or at home. This isn’t personally directed at you- often the guys who care about their moms the MOST are the ones most self-concious in front of them! They want to feel cool, and thats hard to do if a mom is there sometimes. Once i had a mom standing over my shoulder asking for his “real smile, like when you were in the 3rd grade and dumped ice cream on your lap!” eek! I know YOU wouldn’t do that mom. We can try starting it with you there, bring a friend of his, and if its not feeling good or getting the results you want, pop out for a water run or something! The goal is to create an environment where he can be himself, and he is growing up and wants portraits that reflect the man he is becoming.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to make the most of your senior portrait session:
Start with a Conversation: Discuss the importance of senior portraits and listen to your son’s concerns. Understanding each other’s perspectives can help ease tension.
Plan Together: Let your son choose his outfits and provide him with a few location options. This gives him a sense of control and makes him feel more comfortable.
Choose the Right Session: Consider a mini session or an action session tailored to his interests. These shorter, more dynamic sessions can make the experience more enjoyable.
Keep It Light: Create a fun and relaxed atmosphere during the session. Play his favorite music, crack jokes, and keep things light-hearted.
DO NOT MAKE HIM SMILE. I will ask, I run through a few poses and I direct prompts like “look at me, no smile, look to the left, chin down- look up at me” and then when the awkward warm up phase is over I do ask seniors to laugh at me- its weird, its dumb, they tell me so- and I encourage them to try it or give me a sift smile. I dont push it or force it. A forced smile is exactly that. Eventually by the end of the session he usually feel comfortable sharing a few smiles, even as a way to get it over with!
Incorporate Personal Elements: Encourage your son to bring items that reflect his personality and interests. This makes the photos more authentic and meaningful.
Bring a Friend or Family Member: Having someone he’s comfortable with can help him relax and enjoy the session. If he prefers, you can wait nearby or at home.
Focus on Candid Shots: Sometimes the best photos are the unplanned, candid moments. Encourage your son to be himself, and capture those genuine smiles and expressions. Cinematic photos where he is not looking into the camera, like in a movie poster.
Consider offering a faster ending IF he can cooperate until we get the needed shots! This wont effect the price, but if its a real dread offer to him that if the photographer gets the shots she needs for your photos we can end the session faster. This makes a mini session even mini-ier for him. and while this still has the same session fee, if he knows he can get ‘out of it’ faster we may get everything we need really fasy and in a happier fashion!
Do It for Mom: Remind your son that these photos are a gift to you as well. Framing it as a way to make mom happy can be a great motivator. He really does love you, even if he def doesn’t love photos.
I often have guys tell me “thats wasn’t as bad as I thought” or “that didn’t suck too bad” and even “that was a little fun actually”. High praise from a guy that was not looking forward to his session. A lot of guys secretly love it and I can tell!
By following these steps, you can turn a potentially stressful experience into a positive and enjoyable one. Senior portraits are about celebrating this important milestone and capturing your son’s true spirit.

5 Months to Make the most of Senior Year! | Senior Pictures near me, Phoenix Arizona
I’m here to help you navigate through this incredible year with a handy timeline and checklist to make sure you don’t miss a thing. Let’s dive into the must-dos for your senior year, from scheduling your senior portraits with me to marking those all-important yearbook dates and planning for special occasions like homecoming and prom.
Y’all, Senior year of high school is such an exciting time, filled with milestones, memories, and a lot to prepare for. I’m here to help you navigate through this incredible year with a handy timeline and checklist to make sure you don’t miss a thing. I remember being a first time senior parent and just barely making some of these dates despite my first senior being very organized and prepared- because you don’t know if you don’t know!
Let’s dive into the must-dos for your senior year, from scheduling your senior portraits with me to marking those all-important yearbook dates and planning for special occasions like homecoming and prom.
August - September: Kick Off the Year Right!
Get Organized: Start by getting a planner or calendar to keep track of important dates and deadlines. some schools provide them or great tracking apps.
Schedule Senior Portraits: One of the first things you’ll want to do is schedule your senior portraits with me. These photos are a major milestone, and we want to capture you at your best! Click here to book your session.
Schedule Yearbook Picture: You do need to make an appointment, usually with Dorian Studio or Grads, for the yearbook photo. No, you do not have to go to *JUST* the school yearbook photographer. BUT I THINK YOU’LL WANT TO DO BOTH! More about that here
Join Clubs and Activities: Get involved in school clubs and extracurricular activities. It’s a great way to make the most of your last year.
College Planning: Start researching colleges, preparing for the SAT/ACT, and planning college visits if you have not already. Remeber not every post graduation adventure has to be college! Take time to think about something you love doing, that you automatically go to and can do for hours without making yourself concentrate- it just feels natural and you get lost in it…then research places to further explore that interest. You really might be surprised what options are out there that do not involve a student loan. Colelege is fantastic, if it takes you to the path you want, or if you are not sure what that path is but know that classes excited you. But everyone has a different path and there are also amazing schools for music, art, mechanics, and other things that will help you find your passion and get you paid to do what you love too.
October - November: Capture the Moments
Homecoming: Homecoming is a special time, and you’ll want to capture it! Schedule a mini-session for homecoming photos. Trust me, these memories are worth it.
Yearbook Photos: Make sure you know the deadlines for your yearbook photos. Submit your senior portraits and any other required photos on time.
Start College Applications: Begin working on your college applications. Keep track of deadlines and make sure to get letters of recommendation from your teachers.
Senior Portraits: If you haven’t already, get your senior portraits done! We’ll create beautiful, timeless photos that you’ll cherish forever. Book your session here.
December - January: Mid-Year Checkpoint
Finalize College Applications: Complete and submit all your college applications. Double-check everything to make sure it’s perfect.
Holiday Photos: Consider scheduling a holiday-themed photo session with your friends or family. It’s a fun way to celebrate the season and make lasting memories.
Check Yearbook Deadlines: Make sure all your photos and entries for the yearbook are submitted. This includes senior quotes, baby photos, and any club or activity photos, and senior ads.
Cap and Gown: Order your cap and gown for graduation. It might seem early, but it’s better to be prepared.
Senior Portraits Reminder: If you still haven’t scheduled your senior portraits, now is the time! Don’t wait any longer to capture these special moments.
February - March: Focus on Fun
Plan for Prom: Start planning for prom. Schedule your prom photoshoot with me to ensure you get beautiful, professional photos of this unforgettable night.
Spring Break Plans: Make the most of your spring break. Whether you’re traveling or staying local, consider scheduling a fun photoshoot to capture your adventures.
Stay on Top of Schoolwork: Keep up with your studies. It’s easy to get distracted with all the fun events, but staying focused is key.
April - May: The Home Stretch
Prom Night: Enjoy your prom night to the fullest! Schedule a pre-prom photoshoot to capture you and your friends in your glamorous outfits.
Senior Activities: Participate in all the senior activities and events your school offers. These are moments you’ll treasure.
Prepare for Graduation: Make sure you have everything you need for graduation day. Check the dates and plan your family celebrations.
Final Senior Portraits: If you want a few last-minute senior photos in your cap and gown, schedule a quick session. It’s a wonderful way to wrap up your senior year.
June: Celebrate and Reflect
Graduation Day: This is your big day! Enjoy every moment and take plenty of photos with family and friends.
Thank You Notes: Send thank you notes to teachers, mentors, and anyone who helped you along the way.
Summer Fun: Celebrate your achievements over the summer. Plan trips, hang out with friends, and make the most of your time before college.

Dante SDOHS Class of 2022 | senior pictures near me Peoria AZ Senior Graduation Pictures by Phoenix Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography
What an unforgettable afternoon capturing Dante’s senior portrait session in the picturesque North Phoenix desert! Dante, a standout from Sandra Day O’Connor High School and the homecoming king, brought so much energy and charm to his session. His natural charisma and enthusiasm made the whole experience incredibly fun and dynamic.
Dante's session was set against the stunning backdrop of the North Phoenix desert. The rugged beauty of the desert, with its vast expanses and dramatic rock formations, provided the perfect setting to capture his vibrant spirit and accomplishments. The landscape was breathtaking, and Dante’s confidence shone through in every shot.
One of the highlights of the session was talking to Dante share stories about his high school journey. Becoming homecoming king was a significant milestone for him, and you could see the pride in his eyes as he talked about spending that evening with his girlfriend, who he met in the EaglePride Marching Band at OC. We incorporated this achievement into the session, capturing his regal demeanor with the stunning desert landscape as a backdrop.
As we explored different areas of the desert, we found some incredible spots that added a unique charm to the photos. There was a rugged rocky area where the setting sun cast a warm, golden glow over everything. The way the light played with the shadows created a dreamy, almost magical atmosphere. Dante’s silhouette against the sunset was absolutely mesmerizing, adding a touch of serenity and contemplation to the session.
Dante also brought along a few personal items that were meaningful to him, including his Sandra Day O’Connor cap and gown with many academic achievement cords and honor society stolle.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, the sky transformed into a canvas of vibrant oranges and pinks. We wrapped up the session with a few final shots, capturing the last rays of sunlight.

DON’T I HAVE TO USE THE SCHOOL YEARBOOK COMPANY? | Anjeanette Photography Seniors Phoenix Az
No, you do not have to go to *JUST* the school yearbook photographer.
But I think you’ll want to do BOTH!
The schools portrait company is hired to take your yearbook mug-shot, tux or drape, and cap and gown. Unless otherwise stated that is the image they will use in the yearbook regardless. You are so much more than one shot!
Honestly, I love and have taken the traditional tux and drape shot. Its a classic! Secret Confession: I WAS a school yearbook photographer for 8 years- its a great business. One of the school the company I worked with service a high school that had large composites sheets from every year the school had been open- back to the 1920’s! It was amazing- and being a small town there were kiddos going to school with their great grandmothers, grandpa’s, and parents watching over them! Its timeless and sentimental and I loved it!
So get that yearbook pic and enjoy it. I suggest getting the school-approved print portrait package for a formal yearbook shot too. I bought my kid’s yearbook photos and senior photos from the school-approved studio too. I mean let’s face it I am the ideal client…I want all the images of my baby ha! But I also wanted something that REALLY showed off who they are and their personalities too.
..... what about YOU? Your hobbies and passions? Some schools allow independent photographers’ images- like mine- to also appear in your book. Regardless an individualized senior session is an important milestone. All other photographs beyond one formal headshot from the school’s photographer will be fast, cookie-cutter images, and they are completely optional to purchase!
Over and over I’ve been encountering seniors who believe that they must use the school photographer for all of their senior portraits. The school’s yearbook photography companies will attempt to lead you to believe that they are the ONLY photographers and you must go to them since they purchased a contract with your school for your photos, that is not true and you are not obligated to buy anything from them-
I encourage a classic formal portrait in cap & Gown or Tux or Drape- its a milestone shared by your parents and grandparents, an iconic part of the senior experience. But wait- there can be so much MORE!
AFTER THE YEARBOOK FORMAL ADD THE REAL YOU PERSONALITY AND ARTISTIC MODERN PORTRAIT FROM ANJEANETTE PHOTOGRAPHY!
You are free to make your choice about your senior photographer!
I encourage you to look around at several talented, small, independent photographers such as myself in your area. Make a decision based on the quality of their work. You will get better quality images, more time spent with you and more poses to choose from if you use an independent photographer with years of training and artistic experience.
The yearbook photography companies are usually high-volume studios that profit from getting students in and out quickly with just a few backgrounds- the same ones all of your class will have. And that’s their business model because it works- AND its inportant to get a photo of every kid. Not everyone will want a special session just for them and sad as that maes me personally hahah I want every kid in the yearbook. Sometimes when they are actually there in the yearbook folks studio they realize its a pretty cool experience and want more poses…You’ll still pay big bucks for your senior pictures at a bigger studio, but what you won’t realize is that you are paying for the business name. Consider your options. In the world of digital imagery, why would a studio only let you pick a few poses? Independent photographers will provide you with lots of options and will take the time to individually edit your images. They will take pride in their work because the images they produce will be a direct reflection of their abilities.
Do you charge more than the school photographer?
It really depends, however, most high-volume yearbook photographers charge more than I do for their sessions and products. Please compare our prices. ;)

Faith Sandra Day O'Connor Class of 2024 | Anjeanette Photography Phoenix Senior Photographer
Faith’s senior portrait session at Thunderbird Park in Glendale, AZ, was truly an unforgettable experience! Faith, an amazing young woman with a passion for childhood education, is already making waves by working in a daycare. You can see how much she loves it in her eyes!
She chose two outfits that were just perfect for the setting. First, she rocked a boho red shirt with jeans. The vibrant red contrasted beautifully with the natural surroundings of Thunderbird Park. Then, she slipped into a flowy black dress with cowboy boots that is so on trend with the Class of 2024. Both looks were spot-on, highlighting her unique style.
Thunderbird Park is a treasure trove of natural beauty, making it the ideal location for senior photos. The scenery is simply stunning, and we were blessed with perfect weather. We started shooting in the late afternoon, capturing the soft, flattering light. Faith was a total natural in front of the camera, exuding confidence and joy in every frame. Her blonde hair gleaming in the sunlight was simply gorgeous.
We explored the park, discovering fantastic spots along the way. One area, bursting with wildflowers, perfectly matched her boho outfit. Faith twirled and laughed, creating candid shots that truly captured her free spirit. The whole vibe was relaxed and fun, and she was absolutely glowing with happiness.
Golden hour was the pinnacle of the session. The sun’s warm, golden light bathed everything in a magical glow. Faith looked breathtaking in her black dress, her hair illuminated by the setting sun. The combination of the soft dress and the rugged park scenery was stunning. That glow? Pure magic!
Faith’s dedication to childhood education is truly inspiring. She shared stories about her daycare experiences and her future aspirations. Her nurturing spirit shines through, and it’s clear she’s on the right path. Capturing this milestone for her was a true privilege, and the photos reflect her beauty, kindness, and commitment to making a difference.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, we wrapped up the session with a few last shots. The sky was a canvas of oranges and pinks, creating a dreamy backdrop. Faith’s silhouette against this vibrant sky was mesmerizing and the perfect close to a fantastic session.
Faith, your senior portrait session was such a joy! Your warmth and enthusiasm made it truly special. Keep shining and following your dreams. You have an incredible future ahead, and I can’t wait to see what you achieve. You’re a star! 🌟 Remember, the key to fantastic photos is to have fun and be yourself. That’s when the magic happens!

Charlotte's BFF session with friends | Anjeanette Photography Phoenix Senior Photographer
Charlotte's BFF senior session was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment her friends arrived, the energy was off the charts. This wasn’t just a photo shoot – it was a celebration of friendship, laughter, and the end of an amazing high school journey.
Charlotte and her besties chose stunning Papago park for their session. The sun was shining, and the light filtering through the trees created the most beautiful glow. We started with some group shots to capture their bond. The way they interacted was so genuine and heartwarming. You could tell these friendships were built to last a lifetime.
Each of Charlotte’s friends brought their unique style to the session. From trendy outfits to casual chic, the variety was incredible. We had a blast incorporating their personalities into the photos. One of my favorite moments was when they all jumped in the air together, their joy perfectly captured in that split second. LOVE IT!
We also took some individual shots of each friend. It was important to highlight their individual achievements and personalities. They’ve all come so far and have such bright futures ahead. Charlotte, the star of the day, was radiant. Her confidence and happiness shone through in every shot. This glow is a whole vibe! 🌟
As the sun started to set, we captured some amazing golden hour shots. The light was perfect, casting a warm glow that added a magical touch to the photos. Charlotte and her friends were in awe of the beautiful colors in the sky, and it made for some truly stunning images. The whole scene felt like a dream.
By the end of the session, it was clear that these photos were more than just pictures. They were memories. Capturing this important milestone with the people who matter most to you is priceless. Charlotte and her friends will have these photos to look back on and remember all the good times they shared.
Charlotte, your BFF senior session was an absolute blast! You and your friends were amazing, and the photos turned out beautifully. Keep being awesome and making memories with those who mean the most to you. Your future is so bright, and I can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll accomplish.

Samantha Sandra Day O'Connor Class of 2022 | Phoenix Senior Photographer Anjeanette Photography
Samantha, a senior at Sandra Day O’Connor High, has such a cool story. Her family decided to leave the freezing winters of Illinois behind and move to Arizona. And wow, did Samantha fit right in! She jumped right into the Phoenix marching and concert bands, and dance to become a key player, especially with her saxophone skills.
Colleges noticed her talent and were eager to get her on their teams. But Samantha chose to stay in Arizona, joining the NAU Lumberjack band. It’s clear she loves it here and wants to keep making music in the Grand Canyon State.
I first met Samantha during a photo session with the Eagle Pride Marching Band. She stood out right away, not just because she’s talented but because she’s so bubbly and confident. Samantha has this energy that just makes everyone around her happy. I was also lucky enough to see her dance in performance with the Winterguard team.
For her senior photos, we picked Anthem, AZ, and Sunset Point. Anthem has some really pretty spots, perfect for capturing Samantha’s lively spirit. Then we went to Sunset Point, which was amazing with its golden grasses and the sun setting behind the mountains. The light was perfect, giving a warm glow that made Samantha’s smile shine even more.
Samantha’s fashion sense is spot on. She picked outfits that were bright and stylish, just like her. One of my favorite looks was a short flowy baby-blue dress . Another standout was her white and blue floral, but honestly my favorite was the casual jeans and yellow bc it was really cute, perfect for the relaxed Arizona vibe. Of course, we had to include her saxophone in some shots, showing off her love for music.
Samantha was a natural in front of the camera. She posed effortlessly, and her bubbly personality made the whole session fun. We had a lot of laughs, and it felt more like hanging out than a photo shoot. She was great at turning little challenges, like curious bugs or gusts of wind, into fun moments.
As the sun set, the landscape changed, and each photo captured a different side of Samantha—her joy, her thoughtful side, her excitement for what’s next. The pictures are more than just photos; they show who Samantha is and where she’s heading.
For all the high school seniors and parents out there, senior photos are more than just a milestone. They capture a special time in your life, showing your personality and your journey. Samantha’s photos do just that. They’re not just about her senior year; they’re a celebration of her journey and her bright future with the NAU Lumberjack band.
I love getting to know seniors and their families, and being a part of such important milestones & memories, Samantha’s photos make me smile. Each one tells a part of her story, from Illinois to Arizona, her love for music, and her bright future. Samantha, you’re amazing, and it was so much fun capturing these moments for you.
To all the seniors, pick places and themes that show who you are. Whether it’s a spot with great memories or one that reflects your dreams, let your senior photos be a true reflection of you. And most importantly, have fun with it! Your senior year is a time to celebrate, and your photos should show that joy and excitement.
And that’s a wrap! 📸✨ What a fantastic session with Samantha. From the beautiful spots in Anthem to the stunning views at Sunset Point, it was a day filled with fun and unforgettable moments. Here’s to celebrating the end of high school and the amazing adventures ahead! Cheers to making memories that last a lifetime. 🌵🎷🎓

Michael Class of 2023 Sandra Day O’Connor High | Anjeanette Photography Phoenix Senior Photographer
Michael, a senior at Sandra Day O’Connor High, wanted his senior photos to reflect his dreams and personality. He chose the ASU Gammage Theatre area and Changing Hands Bookstore, two iconic places in Arizona that perfectly captured his unique vibe. The Gammage Theatre, with its distinctive architecture, offered an exceptional backdrop for his photos. Its bold lines and curves, designed by the legendary Frank Lloyd Wright, provided an artistic setting that highlighted Michael's individuality.
We started our session at the ASU Gammage Theatre. The structure is a marvel, with its sweeping lines and dramatic angles. It's a photographer’s dream, especially on a cloudy Arizona day. The light was overcast and diffused, giving everything a softfinish, but when I used my flash strobe there was a very cool and epic edge that balancing the light gave the darkly exposed sky.
Next, we moved to Changing Hands Bookstore. This place is a gem! It's not just a bookstore; it’s a haven for book lovers and a fantastic spot for cozy, intimate photos. Michael wanted his photos to show different facets of his life and interests. The bookstore provided a perfect setting for this. He looked right at home among the shelves, flipping through pages and lounging in the reading nooks. His outfit for this location was more relaxed and casual, perfect for a day spent in a warm, inviting atmosphere. This place brought out a different side of Michael, capturing his love for reading and learning.
Michael's involvement in the Eagle Pride Marching Band is a significant part of his high school experience. I first met him while working on the band's portraits as a Phoenix Team and Marching Band volume photographer. Seeing him in his element, surrounded by his bandmates, gave me a glimpse into his world. The dedication, hard work, and passion he showed were truly inspiring.
Taking photos at these two locations was not just about the backgrounds; it was about capturing Michael’s journey and dreams. The Gammage Theatre represented his aspirations and love for the arts, while Changing Hands Bookstore showed his intellectual curiosity and love for knowledge. Each photo session was a celebration of his achievements and a glimpse into his bright future. It was incredible to see how comfortable and natural he was in both settings, making the photos truly reflect who he is.
The weather was on our side that day, with the cloudy skies providing perfect lighting conditions. The natural light was soft and flattering, highlighting Michael’s features and adding depth to the photos. Despite the occasional challenges, like finding the right angle in low light to avoid unwanted shadows or dealing with curious onlookers, the session was a blast. Michael’s positive energy and willingness to experiment made the entire process enjoyable and rewarding.
Senior photos are more than just a milestone; they’re a way to capture a moment in time that reflects who you are and what you love. Michael’s choice of locations and his involvement in the process made his photos unique and personal. It’s important to choose places and themes that resonate with you, just like Michael did. Whether it’s a favorite hangout spot, a place that represents your dreams, or somewhere that holds special memories, make your senior photos a true reflection of yourself.
Looking back at the photos from that day, I can’t help but smile. Each shot tells a story, from the dramatic lines of the Gammage Theatre to the cozy corners of Changing Hands Bookstore. They’re a testament to Michael’s journey through high school and his excitement for what lies ahead. Michael, you truly shone in front of the camera, and it was an honor to capture these moments for you.
To all the seniors out there, remember that your senior photos should be as unique and special as your journey has been. Don’t be afraid to choose unconventional locations or themes that reflect your personality and dreams. Your senior year is a time of celebration, and your photos should capture that joy and anticipation for the future.
And that’s a wrap! 📸✨ What an unforgettable session with Michael. From the stunning architecture of the Gammage Theatre to the cozy charm of Changing Hands Bookstore, it was a day to remember. Here’s to celebrating the end of high school and the exciting adventures that lie ahead! Cheers to making memories that last a lifetime. 🌵📚🎓

Makhia Adventure Travel Senior Portrait session in Phoenix Arizona | Anjeanette Photography Phoenix Senior Photographer
Class of 2023 grad to be Makhia, graduating from Cole Valley Christian Academy in Meridian, Idaho, wanted senior photos that would stand out. She wasn't interested in the conventional high school portraits that everyone else was getting in her city. So, she and her mom made the bold decision to hop on a plane and come visit me in Phoenix, AZ! Talk about dedication to getting those perfect shots!
A lot of photographers won’t tell you the spots they go for senior photos, but the truth is you can get great photos anyplace in Peoria and Phoenix- the location isn’t as important as the experience the senior has which really brings out their sparkle, and connection they have with their photographer. That being said, while anyone can take good pictures I strive to make the senior experience so awesome you get GREAT one of a kind portraits back! That being said, one of my favorite places is Sonoran Mountain Ranch Park where Makhia and I went for her sweet little Aspect Mini Session. We choose the perfect time – right at sunset.
There's something magical about that time of day in Arizona. The sky starts its symphony of colors, and the desert landscape glows like it’s been kissed by golden light. We started with natural light to capture that rich, artistic glow. Trust me, when the sun starts to dip, everything looks like it’s bathed in liquid gold. No wonder this scene with its sunrays and colors is our state logo! Occationally, I switched to using a flash to balance the sky’s dramatic hues with Makhia’s complection. It was like capturing two masterpieces in one frame!
Makhia’s nailed her outfit choices. Seriously, both ‘fits she picked were on point, but there was this hat – that hat was the cherry on top for the cloudy Arizona day. It added a dash of personality and flair to her look. Speaking of the clouds, here's a fun fact: In my almost unbiased opinion Arizona sunsets are the most spectacular in the world, but they need a bit of cloud cover to really show off. And we got exactly that – a canvas of vibrant pinks, purples, and oranges painted across the sky. Pure magic.
One of my favorite moments was when we found this perfect spot overlooking the desert. The view was breathtaking, with the sun slowly sinking behind the mountains. Makhia stood there, looking like she owned the world, with her hat tilted just right and a confident smile. I clicked away, capturing her in her element, surrounded by the natural beauty of Arizona. These photos were more than just pictures; they were a celebration of her journey, her achievements, and her unique style.
It wasn’t just about the scenery or the outfits, though. What made this session truly special was Makhia herself. Her energy, her laughter, and her willingness to try different poses and ideas made the whole process a blast. Whether she was twirling around, laughing at some silly joke, or striking a fierce pose, she brought so much life to the shoot. It was clear that these photos were a true reflection of her – bold, beautiful, and unapologetically herself.
For the parents and high school seniors reading this, let me tell you – senior photos are more than just a tradition. They’re a way to capture a pivotal moment in time, a way to celebrate the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. And sometimes, it’s worth taking that extra step (or flight!) to make sure those photos are as unique and special as you are. Makhia and her mom made that leap, and the result was a stunning collection of images that they’ll treasure forever.
Each shot tells a story, from the soft, golden light of the early evening to the dramatic, flash-lit moments against the vibrant sunset. They’re a testament to the beauty of Arizona and the vibrant spirit of a young woman ready to take on the world. Makhia, you rocked that photoshoot, and I’m so glad I could be a part of your senior year memories.
So, to all the seniors out there dreaming of something different, something uniquely you – don’t be afraid to take a chance. Whether it’s hopping on a plane or just trying out a new look, go for it. Your senior photos should be as extraordinary as your journey has been. And trust me, when you see those pictures, you’ll know it was all worth it.
And that’s a wrap! 📸✨ What an unforgettable session with Makhia. From the stunning Arizona landscapes to her infectious energy, it was a day to remember. Here’s to celebrating the end of high school and the exciting adventures that lie ahead! Cheers to making memories that last a lifetime. 🌵🌞🎓
Kate MRHS Class of 2024 | Anjeanette Photography Phoenix Senior Photographer
Meet Kate, graduating senior from Mountain Ridge High School. I met Kates while they were an incredible member of the marching and concert bands, and the wind ensemble, where they played the saxophone. Kate’s dedicated to their music but is still unsure if they will continue in band when in their future adventures in Tucson at the University of Arizona. After years of hard practicing it may be time for a break to explore other interests and passions! I feel so honored to have been a part of Kate’s Marching band career, at competitions and senior banners while with the Pride of the West Media Team, and individually after my kids graduated band. Their senior banner was proudly displayed on the football field and at competitions, was a testament to their hard work and accomplishments. Kate’s journey has been nothing short of amazing.
For our photo session, Kate chose a Mini Sesh at Deems Hills Park at sunset. The mini is the sweet spot for seniors and parents who want great senior photos, but are only want a couple of outfits, and a shorter time commitment without a video.
This location is absolutely magical, especially as the sun dips below the mountain horizon, casting a warm, golden light over everything.
Natural Light
The natural light at Deems Hills was perfect for creating a rich, artistic glow. I love working with natural light; it brings out such beautiful, authentic tones. I also love using a flash to capture both the stunning sky and Kate in perfect lighting. Because I don’t photoshop in fake skies (or skies that were not really there) using flash to illuminate the subject while the camera is set to capture the sky gives me the best of both worlds for awesome lighting! Without flash you have the choice to see either your subject OR the sky…but the cool thing about being an available light photographer like myself is the chance to capture both distinct looks! The combination of natural and artificial light created dynamic effects, highlighting Kate’s unique style and personality.
Flash Lighting
Kate’s outfit choices were spot on – they started with a burgundy suit jacket paired with classic Chucks, giving off a cool, confident vibe. Later, they changed into a University of Arizona sweatshirt, ready for their exciting new chapter in Tucson.
Kate’s choice of outfits really showcased their personality. The burgundy suit jacket was bold and stylish, a perfect match for their confident demeanor. One of my favorite captures was when Kate stood against the backdrop of the setting sun, their burgundy suit jacket catching a little wind with the rare and epic blue clouds behind them. Ok there wasn’t actually any wind! Mom stood by to flip up the jacket before quickly diving out of the way! Kate is so poised and confident, ready to take on the world. The contrast between the deep burgundy and the cool blues of the sky well before sunset was stunning.
The University of Arizona sweatshirt, on the other hand, was a nod to their future and all the exciting opportunities that await. It was a great way to capture both who they are now and who they’re on the way to becoming.
We had a lot of fun during the session, too. Kate’s sense of humor and laid-back attitude kept things light and enjoyable. We wandered through the park, chatting about their future plans and reminiscing about their time in the band. Kate is so excited about heading to the University of Arizona & can’t wait to explore all that Tucson has to offer!
As the session came to an end, the sky turned a deep, dusky pink, providing the perfect backdrop for some final shots. These photos will be a wonderful keepsake for Kate as they embark on their new journey.
I’m so proud of Kate and all they’ve accomplished. From their time in the marching and concert bands to their upcoming adventures at the University of Arizona, they have shown incredible dedication, talent, and resilience. I can’t wait to see all the amazing things they’ll do in the future. Kate, thank you for such a memorable session. Your enthusiasm, humor, and passion for music are truly inspiring. I wish you all the best at the University of Arizona and beyond. Keep shining bright and chasing your dreams!
To all the high school seniors and parents out there, Kate’s story is a beautiful reminder of the importance of celebrating your unique journey. Senior year is such a special time, full of growth, discovery, and new beginnings. Whether you’re pursuing your passions, heading off to college, or exploring new opportunities, take a moment to capture these memories. They are the ones you’ll look back on and cherish for years to come.

Ryan SDOHS 2024 | Arizona Senior Portrait Sessions by Phoenix photographer Anjeanette Photography
As a student at Sandra Day O'Connor High School, Ryan's high school experience was a whirlwind of activities. Can you imagine juggling competitive marching band, ROTC, playing electric guitar, and being a member of the track team to mention a few? When it came time for his senior portraits, Ryan wanted to capture not just his academic achievements but also the passions that defined his high school journey.
Into the Wild Blue Yonder
With his parents help, we went above (flight pun sorry) and beyond to create a one-of-a-kind experience for this exceptional senior. Ryan's parents had a special surprise in store for him at the end of his senior portrait session. Ryan recently received an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy – a dream come true for this aspiring aviator. To celebrate this momentous achievement, his parents arranged for me to visit the airport for portraits with a friends plane, and then Lt Colonel Daniel Deahler, USAF (ret.) took Ryan on a flight, soaring through the skies in an experimental plane!
Can you imagine the thrill of capturing Ryan's portraits with this backdrop? It was as if his dreams of becoming a pilot had already taken flight and I got to be there to document it!
These portraits tell the story of a young man who embraced every opportunity, who dared to dream big, and who left an indelible mark on the halls of Sandra Day O'Connor High School. As Ryan embarks on his next adventure at the United States Air Force Academy, his senior portraits will serve as a cherished reminder of the journey that brought him to this point. It will be amazing to see him to continue reaching for the stars, knowing that his dreams truly have no limits.

Piper Anthem Prep Class of 2024 | Arizona Senior Portrait Sessions: | Phoenix Senior Picture sessions by Arizona photographer Anjeanette.Photography
Let's talk about Piper's senior pictures! Piper’s Phoenix senior pictures Action package took us to Gold Canyon’s Boyce Thompson Arbetorum, one of the most beautiful areas in the southern eastern side of Tonto National Forest.
This sweet class of 2024 senior is a student at Anthem Prep active in her church community, volunteering, writing, & crafting. You could just feel her bubbly, upbeat personality shining through in every single shot. Brighter than the sun, before and after it dipped behind clouds to make the sky a giant dramatic softbox!
Can we talk about her outfits for a sec? Piper had not one, not two, but FIVE outfits for her session - perfectly centered around her signature sunny yellow color! I was excited when she showed me her outfit ideas a few weeks before the session when we chatted with mom...you can never have too many outfit changes during a senior portrait session. Ok well you COULD, especially if you change fromon e to the next slowly ha! But 3-5 outfits seemsto be the perfect amount to keep the session fresh and full of variety whileshowingoff aspects of your fashion personalities. Seriously, not having enough outfits is such a bigger problem than having too many. Think about it - if you only have one or two looks, we're really limited for your portraits. But if you bring a whole wardrobe of cute attire? We can switch up the vibe and take advantage of all the amazing scenery around us.
With Piper's five fits, we were able to capture her bright, cheerful essence at multiple scenic spots around the arboretum grounds. Those brilliant yellow hues popped so beautifully against the lush greenery and desert flora. I'm obsessed! Now you know how I feel about wardrobe changes during sessions. The more, the merrier! An abundance of outfits equals an abundance of amazing portraits. It's honestly a struggle for me to photograph an entire senior session with just one or two looks. I always see a little more of a persons vibe with each outfit.
Seniors, if Piper's vibrant pictures have you eager for your own portrait session, get on my calendar ASAP! I'm already booking fast for the Class of 2025. This year, I actually had to turn seniors away because my schedule was completely full by mid-February. The popular dates go so quickly!
Avoid FOMO get your session booked early. Trust me, you don't want to be left out when everyone else is posting their killer senior pics all over Instagram next year. Secure your spot, then we can strategize outfit choices galore!
In the end, Piper's sunny senior portraits turned out absolutely beautifully. Her bright yellow outfits were the perfect embodiment of her joyful, optimistic spirit. I'm so grateful she took my advice about wardrobe changes to heart - it resulted in a vibrant, multi-faceted gallery her family will treasure forever.

Kaitlyn Mountain Ridge Class of 2024 | Phoenix & Peoria Graduation Pictures & High School Photographer ANJEANETTE PHOTOGRAPHY
Hey senior squad! SO goofy sounding hahah. ANYWAYS…Picture this: senior year is winding down, the future beckons, and you're ready to capture all the feels in epic photos. Well, that's exactly what Kaitlyn, a soon-to-be college music major and Mountain Ridge High School grad, did with her Adventure package senior session! We traded the familiar hallways for the majestic Glanis Sand Dunes in Brawley, California, and the results were pure magic.
For the past four years, Kaitlyn's been a rockstar (well, technically a bass clarinetist!) in the Mountain Ridge Wind Ensemble and Marching Band. Remember the band that keeps on winning State competition? Yep, Kaitlyn was right there in the heart of it all, leading her section with passion and precision. I’m blessed to have been there to document a lot of it and watch her grow! That's right, yours truly! Seeing her dedication and musicality translate from the field to her future at GCC and NAU is truly inspiring.
Kaitlyn came prepared for her session with a wardrobe mix of casual and dressy, each outfit reflecting a different facet of her personality. Comfy jeans for that laid-back vibe, a flowy dresses that danced in the desert breeze, and even a stunning gown that transformed the dunes into a high-fashion runway. It wasn't just about looking good (though let's be honest, she rocked every single look!), it was about showcasing the many sides of Kaitlyn – the musician, the adventurer, the future music major ready to conquer the world.
Kaitlyn's fashion was epic. Having 3-5 well-chosen outfits that reflect your personality is key. Just one or two outfit changes can feel limiting during a session. Finding the sweet spot is important.‘
Senior portraits are more than just photos; they're a time capsule of this unforgettable chapter in your life. This year, my calendar filled up by mid-February, so many seniors missed their chance to shine. Don't let that happen to you! Book your session early to secure your spot and capture the magic of senior year.
