Had such a great time meeting up with Faith and her folks down on Hermitage Square for her high school senior portrait session! Downtown Phoenix is an adventure of colours, and great photo textures- and sometimes adventures in finding parking spaces!! But Faith’s smiles lit the city up brighter than the sunshine :)
Fantastic time with Katie for her graduation pictures at the Desert Botanical Gardens at the beginning of the month. She was all ethereal beauty one moment, and Carrie Fisher spunky smiles the next!
Now Senior photo session season is in full swing! (get it- golf joke) Can’t believe Katie and the rest of the Class of 2019 is just a few months from graduation!!!

I have had the pleasure of knowing her a few years now as she has lead my daughters band, and can I just say this kid is so dang cool! Lauren is a leader, a musician, and a haircut trendsetter- but she’s also the kindest, coolest, and funniest person! Loved out session down on roosevelt Row in Phoenix- we visited all the murals and lite them up with Lauren’s smile and some smoke bombs! Can’t wait to read all about her future adventures!!!
The splashes of colour and city vibe have def been the most popular spots this high school senior portrait session season! We are so blessed to live in a vibrant fun city with so many neat spots- and Mikaela rocked them all! From Roosevelt Row to Grand ave this Arizona girl stunned in her graduation photo session!
We had some help from Mikaleas brother Aaron- he manned the Ice Light on a fushia setting to create the zig zag halo behind her head for this photo!
Phoenix had a surprisingly windy and cold- snowy even- and so Hannah’s senior session was a whirlwind of colourguard flags in the wind and golden curls. After warming in up in charming BeCoffee the sun popped out to end the afternoon session in warmth and reflections in Phoenix!

The other night I got to go on a photography ‘playdate’ - you know us photographers, the glitz, the glam, the dump. Yep, we went to the dump! Shout out to Valerie Waldvogel for styling, providing amazing models, and securing the most wondrous of locations: aka the Glendale Dump for her new monthly styled sessions “What I See Shoot” aimed at photographers on every leg of their journey from noobies with their first dslr to more seasoned, professional photographers.
(Hmm what seasoning would I be? Am I in the Cumin stage of pro photography or a little more Paprika?)
Valerie used this session to provide education and experience to a group she taught throughout the afternoon , and to just boost camaraderie with all of us- be it on on manual mode with our own photography businesses or first ‘real’ camera.The shoot was a reminder to challenge oneself - find beauty in any situation, any location. I had a great afternoon meeting everyone in my group, folks in other groups, and just enjoying the warm sunshine through the lens.
Getting out and practicing and playing isn’t something you ever ‘get too good’ for. Creative meet ups like this one Valerie organized keep the passion alive!

Gorgeous session at the Phoenix Desert Botanical Garden with high school baccalaureate Hallie! Super smart and adorable, she did a fantastic job as we enjoyed a photo shoot through
a beautiful winter day. Great Seniors = Great Senior Portraits!!! So happy to have met Hallie and her folks and blessed they choose me for her portraits :)
Before I moved to Arizona I did not even know Aloe bloomed! Right now the city and gardens are lush and green in the state’s heavenly “winter” season.
So excited to release these images of amazing Carolyn!!! This theatre kid had to have her session at the most beautiful stage in town- none other than the Historic Orpheum Phoenix. Everything about this session melts me in puddles- great smiles, great kid, great location! Now she is off, continuing her stage career near the Great White Way! I know a lot of directors and friends will miss you here Carolyn, congrats on your adventures, go get that apple!!
Kealen isn’t just a great trumpet player- he is an exceptional all around musician. He started his senior year as a Drum Major leading his band through drills and challenges out of the students control with grace and a smile, and continues to wow everyone in concert season.
Senior year isn’t quite over yet- can’t wait to see what this guy will achieve the second half of the year and beyond!
Pa rum pum pum pum, Caylon killed it at her senior session! What a groaner of a lead in joke amiright? But seriously, she rock it, slayed, and kicked its ass- what an amazing portrait session Caylon!!! You are as sweet and funny as you are beautiful!

Last weeks Senior Sunday session with Collin! I didn’t realize how much I missed the sound of running water til we visited Arizona Falls in Scottsdale.

Fantastic session withPhoenix high school senior Davin a few weeks ago! We looked all over town for a baby grand - Davin's passion- to play at the session and The Nash delivered the perfect spot and keys!
Downtown Phoenix on Roosevelt Row for Davin’s senior session moments after he played piano at The Nash Jazz Club!
Had a great time meeting Preston and his mom at the anthem Community Park a little while for a short and sweet senior session! This one is a keep it simple, nothing fancy- and Preston was the perfect guy for it because he was ready with a quick smile and laugh to get everything his family wanted with lots of time to submit for the Anthem Preparatory Academy. I do love a school that lets seniors choose their own portraits!
The Senior mini session is great for kids that have an easy, relaxed smile right away, and are very comfortable in front of the camera. They don’t want to fuss with a bunch of wardrobe changes so we keep it fun and light- easy going and as painless as possible :)
The students interested in a mini are great kids who know what they want- andare not interested in a movie or have such busy schedules- but they know portraits matter to mom!
It was so great working with you Preston- congrats on a great High School experience and all the wonderful adventures that wait!!
Such a fantastic session with Tyler at Tempe Town Lake last week!
It was great getting to know this talented and young gentleman. Tyler is interested in music, the arts, and song/music rights and publishing for video games, movies ,and more.
It will be exciting to see where the future takes Tyler- or rather what he accomplishes with his bright future!
Fantastic session with Morgan at none other than the Phoenix Art Museum! The museum is an Arizona desert jewel-institution with an international reputation for excellence in visual arts and architecture.
Which made it the perfect location for unique. spunky, and cultured Morgan!

They faced challenges like none before, the drum majors even taught class for a while on their own before a string of temporany directors and teachers were able to help. It was a tough year without question, and it produced strong young people who were ready for the adventures to come.
Eagle Pride Class of 2019 Strong!
One of the sweetest traditions this band has is the State Hallway celebration- the parents spends hours, sometimes almost all night, to decorate the hallway to encourage the band before state performances. Its hard to tell from these pics but there is a lot of love on those walls, and for these kids!
