Ryan SDOHS 2024 | Arizona Senior Portrait Sessions by Phoenix photographer Anjeanette Photography

As a student at Sandra Day O'Connor High School, Ryan's high school experience was a whirlwind of activities. Can you imagine juggling competitive marching band, ROTC, playing electric guitar, and being a member of the track team to mention a few? When it came time for his senior portraits, Ryan wanted to capture not just his academic achievements but also the passions that defined his high school journey.

Into the Wild Blue Yonder

With his parents help, we went above (flight pun sorry) and beyond to create a one-of-a-kind experience for this exceptional senior. Ryan's parents had a special surprise in store for him at the end of his senior portrait session. Ryan recently received an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy – a dream come true for this aspiring aviator. To celebrate this momentous achievement, his parents arranged for me to visit the airport for portraits with a friends plane, and then Lt Colonel Daniel Deahler, USAF (ret.) took Ryan on a flight, soaring through the skies in an experimental plane!

Can you imagine the thrill of capturing Ryan's portraits with this backdrop? It was as if his dreams of becoming a pilot had already taken flight and I got to be there to document it!

These portraits tell the story of a young man who embraced every opportunity, who dared to dream big, and who left an indelible mark on the halls of Sandra Day O'Connor High School. As Ryan embarks on his next adventure at the United States Air Force Academy, his senior portraits will serve as a cherished reminder of the journey that brought him to this point. It will be amazing to see him to continue reaching for the stars, knowing that his dreams truly have no limits.

Let's talk about Piper's senior pictures! Piper’s Phoenix senior pictures Action package took us to Gold Canyon’s Boyce Thompson Arbetorum, one of the most beautiful areas in the southern eastern side of Tonto National Forest.  

This sweet class of 2024 senior is a student at Anthem Prep active in her church community, volunteering, writing, & crafting. You could just feel her bubbly, upbeat personality shining through in every single shot. Brighter than the sun, before and after it dipped behind clouds to make the sky a giant dramatic softbox!

Can we talk about her outfits for a sec? Piper had not one, not two, but FIVE outfits for her session - perfectly centered around her signature sunny yellow color! I was excited when she showed me her outfit ideas a few weeks before the session when we chatted with mom...you can never have too many outfit changes during a senior portrait session. Ok well you COULD, especially if you change fromon e to the next slowly ha! But 3-5 outfits seemsto be the perfect amount to keep the session fresh and full of variety whileshowingoff aspects of your fashion personalities. Seriously, not having enough outfits is such a bigger problem than having too many. Think about it - if you only have one or two looks, we're really limited for your portraits. But if you bring a whole wardrobe of cute attire? We can switch up the vibe and take advantage of all the amazing scenery around us.

With Piper's five fits, we were able to capture her bright, cheerful essence at multiple scenic spots around the arboretum grounds. Those brilliant yellow hues popped so beautifully against the lush greenery and desert flora. I'm obsessed! Now you know how I feel about wardrobe changes during sessions. The more, the merrier! An abundance of outfits equals an abundance of amazing portraits. It's honestly a struggle for me to photograph an entire senior session with just one or two looks. I always see a little more of a persons vibe with each outfit.

Seniors, if Piper's vibrant pictures have you eager for your own portrait session, get on my calendar ASAP! I'm already booking fast for the Class of 2025. This year, I actually had to turn seniors away because my schedule was completely full by mid-February. The popular dates go so quickly!

Avoid FOMO get your session booked early. Trust me, you don't want to be left out when everyone else is posting their killer senior pics all over Instagram next year. Secure your spot, then we can strategize outfit choices galore!

In the end, Piper's sunny senior portraits turned out absolutely beautifully. Her bright yellow outfits were the perfect embodiment of her joyful, optimistic spirit. I'm so grateful she took my advice about wardrobe changes to heart - it resulted in a vibrant, multi-faceted gallery her family will treasure forever.

Abe Class of 2022 | Anjeanette Photography Senior portraits Phoenix Az (Copy)

Gorgeous girl and gorgeous smile- but what you can’t see is the strength and determination in every photo. This spunky fun senior has been thru multiple foot surgeries, and was on crutches for this entire session although her Doctor gave the all-clear for travel and portraits! Don’t worry, mom and I made sure she took frequent breaks and didn’t push this passionate kid. Safety first always, no photo is worth risking her health.

Resolved not to be slowed down, she flew to Arizona from Montana to get photos like ones she fondly remembered from being a kid and playing in the backyard of her grandparents to sunsets with Sonoran Cacti silhouettes. So of course the best place for cacti and dreamy desert views in Phoenix is the Botanical Gardens. No sunsets of this rare overcast afternoon, but Abe’s smile beams away the clouds, and cloudy days are lovely for soft shadows and vibrant color.

This northern plains basketball and volleyball star has beaten the odds before- and will again! On the road to healing and enjoying her senior year!

As the sun dipped low over the dusty plains of Sahuro Ranch, casting long shadows across the saguaro cacti, Amelia's emerald eyes sparkled with a mix of excitement and anticipation. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Sahuro Ranch, adorned with gem tones and graced by majestic peacocks, Amelia's portraits captured her essence with remarkable clarity. It was a dark and stormy Sunday…well not exactly but it WAS overcast, winter rain was threatening, and it was cloudy as all get out. Do people still say that? Thing is - I hate cloudy days! Clouds are a favorite of many photographers with their ‘giant softbox’ ‘saturated colors’ and blah blah blah, but not for me. I didn’t move to Arizona to see no clouds! As a professional you gotta be ready for anything, and able to make any condition work. So I prefer the golden hour backlit glow. USUALLY that is. This session was so dramatic and epic I almost change my mind about cloudy days!

Thomas’ easy, relaxed smile and fun loving personality make any day light up- aw! He is a cute kid! A member of the Class of 2024, he holds the distinguished role of Drum Major in the Eagle Pride Marching Band with a dedication to music and leadership shines through in every frame of his senior pictures. As an Arizona native, Thomas is no stranger to the desert heat, but with graduation on the horizon, he's eagerly anticipating the cooler temperatures and new adventures awaiting him at NAU.

Today, we're celebrating Isabella, a Liberty High School dreamer who traded Bunsen burners for blooming cacti in her epic senior portrait session at the Phoenix Desert Botanical Gardens, a vibrant wonderland where science and beauty collide.

Towering saguaro cacti stood like silent sentinels, vibrant desert flowers bloomed in impossible hues, and the air buzzed with the hum of hummingbirds and the whisper of the wind. It was the perfect canvas for Isabella's scientific spirit and adventurous soul.

Amidst the vibrant flora, there was a quiet wonder to Isabella. As the hazy overcast sky filtered through the desert leaves, painting the landscape in soft golden hues, she spoke of her future aspirations – and that while she wasn’t 100% sure yet she was interested in STEM studies. In that moment, you could see the scientist within her big gorgeous eyes, the mind that analyzes, questions, and seeks to solve the mysteries.

The final portraits? A botanical bouquet of brilliance. They're not just senior pictures; they're a visual testament to Isabella's spirit. They capture her curiosity, her passion for the natural world, and the spark of scientific genius that shines within her.

As a photographer, there are few things more rewarding than capturing moments that will be cherished for a lifetime. This past week, I had the pleasure of being featured by ProPrints Lab, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share my work with their audience. Sunsets have a magical way of painting the sky with vibrant hues, creating the perfect backdrop for capturing memorable moments. I had the pleasure of photographing a sunset mini session with Ellie, a Class of 2024 senior from Mountain Ridge High School.

Senior pictures are more than just photographs; they are a celebration of achievements and a reflection of personality. Ellie's senior photos captured her essence perfectly, showcasing her radiant smile and infectious enthusiasm for life.

Throughout her high school journey, Ellie was actively involved in various activities, including band and winterguard. These pursuits not only enriched her high school experience but also shaped her into the remarkable individual she is today. Incorporating elements of her interests into the photoshoot like her with her flute and a few dancers leaps added a personal touch, capturing the essence of who Ellie is as a person.

As the sun dipped below the horizon behind a wall of clouds, the greyness was transformed to a painting with the sky in shades of orange and pink. We wrapped up the session almost in the dark, which I am ausre was a little concerning to Ellie and her folks, but being a flash and natural light photographer (aka any available light) I knew I captured the portraits without fake AI skies added later- because flash photography allows you to set the background in camera to capture what’s really there, then turn on the flash to capture your subject!

I was so excited for what we captured with an amazing young lady. Graduation portraits serve as a timeless reminder of a significant milestone in one's life, encapsulating the anticipation and excitement of embarking on a new chapter.

Sunset sessions offer the perfect opportunity to capture senior pictures that are not only visually stunning but also deeply meaningful. As a photographer specializing in capturing the essence of the Class of 2024 through senior pictures and graduation portraits, I've had the privilege of witnessing incredible stories unfold in front of my lens. Liesa and Caden's journey is one that tugs at the heartstrings and makes you say “awwwww”. On the last day of 2023, Liesa and Caden celebrated their Class of 2024 journey with a portrait session from Anthem to the vista of Sunset Point. Even though it was a little overcast these two radiated energy and optimism. Their portraits capture not just a moment in time, but the perseverance and spirit that will see them conquer whatever comes their way. ✨ 

COSPE “Teenage Emotions”

These two remarkable individuals first crossed paths as percussionists in the State Champion Mountain Ridge Marching Band and Wind Ensemble. From the cadence of their drumbeats to the harmonious notes they created together, it was evident that their connection extended beyond the musical realm. As their senior year approached, we decided to freeze these moments of camaraderie in time with a special BFF senior portrait session.

Anthem Park and Sunset Point provided the perfect canvas for our photographic adventure, where we went from a giant sky sized softbox of a soft cloudy day to being bathed in the Arizona sunset. The landscape served as a backdrop, mirroring the journey these two have shared throughout their high school years.

Navigating the waterfalls of Anthem, we captured nervous giggles to genuine laughter and shared memories that define Liesa and Caden's relationship. Later we drove up to the edge of the sky above the Phoenix Valley to Sunset Point surrounded by the Bradshaw Mountains.

To Liesa and Caden, as you stand on the brink of new adventures, may these graduation portraits be a cherished reminder of the incredible relationship and lifetime memories you've built together. Today's spotlight shines on Matthew, a dude with wanderlust in his soul and a future at NAU etched on his horizon. Forget about stuffy studios and forced smiles; Matthew craved a backdrop as wild and free as his spirit, and what better fit than the Sonoran Mountain Desert's rugged beauty?

Golden sunlight was bleeding over saguaro silhouettes, casting long shadows across the dusty trails. Add in a cool breeze whispering through prickly pear patches and the distant call of a coyote – nature's symphony in full swing. No really, we heard them that’s not just poetic bs! It was the perfect spot for Matthew to paint his senior portraits with the desert's vibrant brushstrokes.

Matthew soaked it all in. You could practically see the gears of his mind turning, maybe dreaming of future hikes, mountain expeditions, and maybe even a touch of stargazing under NAU's open skies. He spoke of his passion for environmental science, his plans to explore the world's hidden corners, and the excitement of leaving his mark on the planet. I was SO EXCITED for this session, Ben knew exactly what he wanted from a hip studio, to pose ideas, and urban backdrops. He took the reins and drove this session straight into a whole new lane. Think streetwear swagger meets classic car cool, with a dash of timeless style and a whole lot of personality.

And then there was the Corvette– a cherry & chrome masterpiece that ALMOST stole the show (don't worry, Ben, you held your own!).

I am fresh off an epic senior portrait session that left me buzzing with inspiration! Today, I’m spotlighting Ryan, a dude who's as versatile as the Arizona landscape itself. Ryan isn't your average senior. This guy packs a double punch (pun intended!), excelling both in the serene world of karate and the high-energy realm of the Arizona State Champion Mountain Ridge marching band drumline. So, how do you capture that kind of dynamism in a single session? We headed straight for Lake Pleasant, where mountains meet water and senior photos take on a whole new vibe. The golden Arizona sun bathed the lake in a warm glow as Ryan posed against the backdrop of rugged cliffs. We found this epic rock overlooking the lake to create a portrait in his Italian jacket from a recent trip overseas!

Then, with a quick wardrobe change and a mischievous twinkle in his eye, Ryan transformed into James Bond in his suit! Love it when senior bring a formal outfit.

With laser-sharp focus, his movements precise and graceful, Ryan unleashed his kata, detailed patterns of movements executed as a specified series of a variety of Karate moves. The sunset glow behind saguaro cacti set the perfect stage for silhouettes showing his talent and hard work.

If you haven't been to the Boyce Thompson Arboretum in Gold Canyon, Arizona, let me tell you, it's a photographer's paradise! Imagine towering cacti, vibrant desert flowers, and dramatic rock formations – the perfect backdrop for capturing Phoenix Country Day senior Lanae's unique personality and celebrating her upcoming graduation.

Our adventure began amidst the urban charm of downtown Phoenix. The city provided the perfect backdrop for Kenna's senior pictures – a fusion of modernity and tradition. Madison ASU Class of 2023 | Peoria AZ Senior Graduation Pictures by Phoenix Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography

As an Arizona Valley based photographer AND Sun Devil mom myself, I’ve photographed countless Arizona State University seniors on the cusp of graduation. Each one has a unique story to tell, and Madison, an accomplished scholar with a passion for literature, is no exception. Madison’s senior portrait session was a true delight.

The bookstore was a vibe of a  metaphor for the vast knowledge Madison has acquired during her time at ASU, a place where each book represents a chapter of her academic journey.

Jacob Sunnyslope Class of 2024 | Phoenix Graduation Pictures & High School Senior Portrait sessions

I've been capturing the senior portraits of athletes for many years, but Jacob, a football captain at Sunnyslope Viking High School, ranks among the best. Jacob is a force to be reckoned with on the field, but off the field, he's a down-to-earth guy with a fantastic smile. We adventured into the picturesque landscapes of the Paradise Valley palm lined lanes, to the Vikings stadium, then we kicked it up a notch by venturing out to the stunning Lake Pleasant. The change of scenery added a whole new dimension to Jacob's senior portraits. Against the serene backdrop of the lake, we documented portraits of a young man transitioning to the wider world beyond high school. It was an adventure that mirrored the exciting journey Jacob is about to embark on.

By the end of those intense Friday Night Lights, he was understandably worn out, but when it came time for his senior pictures the next day, he powered through like a true champion. The football stadium provided a backdrop that resonated with Jacob's passion for the game. We captured those fantastic smiles and cool, tough vibes that make Jacob the charismatic captain guy is.

Olivia Class of 2024 | Phoenix Senior Portraits by Anjeanette Photography Peoria Arizona

It's hard to believe how fast time has flown. Senior year is a reminder that childhood doesn’t last forever- but that the transition to adulthood and beyond should still be fun!

I recently photographed Olivia's senior portrait session at the stunning Boyce Thompson Arboretum. It was an unforgettable experience capturing this amazing young woman as she embarks on her senior year.

Olivia is part of the Class of 2024, and her enthusiasm for this milestone year was truly contagious. As we ventured through the Arboretum, she told me about her Senior Sunrise that day at the football stadium, inncocent fun pranks by the senior class, and upcoming milestones like the last homecoming, and her plans in the medical field after hogh school. Golden rays of the sun played peek-a-boo through the lush greenery, creating the most magical setting. It was a day filled with laughter and candid moments.

When I asked Olivia about her choice of location, she knew she wanted as much greenery as we could possibly find in Arizona- and Boyce was the top of list for this reason! Even after the end of what I call “crispy season” (summer) the Master Gardners at Boyce has tropical lush forest areas, huge trees, and huge flower bushes everywhere still in a spring like bloom. The variety of backdrops at the Arboretum allowed us to capture Olivia's portraits in many ways. From a serene ivy covered veranda to vibrant wildflowers, each location added a unique touch to her senior photos. We even managed to sneak in a few shots amidst the iconic cacti, creating a beautifully harmonious blend of nature and Olivia's spirit.

Olivia's vibrant personality shone through in every frame. Her smile was infectious, and her eyes sparkled with excitement for the future. It was clear that she was savoring every moment of this day.

I love my job folks! Honored that Olivia nd her mother Jaime chose me for these milestone photographs! Olivia's session was a wonderful reminder of the significance of capturing these cherished moments as we transition into new chapters of our lives. It was a true honor to be a part of her senior year, and I can't wait to see where this Class of 2024 grad will go.
