Katelyn's high school experience wasn't just about academics; it was also about personal growth and leadership development. Throughout her years, she actively participated in FFA, a national organization dedicated to fostering agricultural education and leadership skills. Her involvement wasn't just a hobby; it was a passion that allowed her to connect with like-minded individuals, hone her communication and teamwork abilities, and develop a strong sense of responsibility. These experiences undoubtedly played a significant role in shaping Katelyn into the confident and well-rounded young woman she is today.

The session began with a casual and chic combination of jeans and a tank top, showcasing her down-to-earth demeanor. We split her 4-hour Adventure package into two different days so we could include even more locations and outfits! Each outfit change wasn't just about aesthetics; it was a chance for Katelyn to express different aspects of herself, highlighting her unique sense of style and confidence.

With the sun hidden in clouds, Maggie's senior portrait session at The Ghost Ship and Bookmans took on an air of mystery and intrigue. This was a fitting backdrop for a young woman whose artistic vision embraces the enigmatic and the unexplored.
Maggie is no ordinary high school senior. She is an artist and photographer in her own right, with a dark and captivating aesthetic that draws inspiration from the depths of the unknown. Her love for pirates and the haunting melodies of her guitar strings perfectly encapsulate her fascination with the mysterious. She is NOT gloomy shadows however, but a gorgeous spirit who finds beauty in things some may consider dark. An intelligent, romantic, and artistic realist.
As Albert Einstein so eloquently put it, "The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and science." Maggie embodies this sentiment, using her own camera lens to capture the beauty that lies beyond the veil of the ordinary.
In the shelves of Bookmans Maggie was in her element, surrounded by the wisdom, music, and stories of those who have dared to explore the boundaries of the unknown. At the Ghost Ship bar downtown, we ran around like excited kids at Disney whose favorite rides are The Haunted Mansion and The Pirates of the Caribbean! So many curious corners and gestures!

Set against the breathtaking backdrop of Sahuro Ranch, adorned with gem tones and graced by majestic peacocks, Amelia's portraits captured her essence with remarkable clarity. It was a dark and stormy Sunday…well not exactly but it WAS overcast, winter rain was threatening, and it was cloudy as all get out. Do people still say that? Thing is - I hate cloudy days! Clouds are a favorite of many photographers with their ‘giant softbox’ ‘saturated colors’ and blah blah blah, but not for me. I didn’t move to Arizona to see no clouds! As a professional you gotta be ready for anything, and able to make any condition work. So I prefer the golden hour backlit glow. USUALLY that is. This session was so dramatic and epic I almost change my mind about cloudy days!
Thomas’ easy, relaxed smile and fun loving personality make any day light up- aw! He is a cute kid! A member of the Class of 2024, he holds the distinguished role of Drum Major in the Eagle Pride Marching Band with a dedication to music and leadership shines through in every frame of his senior pictures. As an Arizona native, Thomas is no stranger to the desert heat, but with graduation on the horizon, he's eagerly anticipating the cooler temperatures and new adventures awaiting him at NAU.
The stunning backdrop of Sonoran Mountain Preserve served as a unique canvas for capturing Thomas' personality and accomplishments. Today, we're celebrating Isabella, a Liberty High School dreamer who traded Bunsen burners for blooming cacti in her epic senior portrait session at the Phoenix Desert Botanical Gardens, a vibrant wonderland where science and beauty collide.
Towering saguaro cacti stood like silent sentinels, vibrant desert flowers bloomed in impossible hues, and the air buzzed with the hum of hummingbirds and the whisper of the wind. It was the perfect canvas for Isabella's scientific spirit and adventurous soul.
Amidst the vibrant flora, there was a quiet wonder to Isabella. As the hazy overcast sky filtered through the desert leaves, painting the landscape in soft golden hues, she spoke of her future aspirations – and that while she wasn’t 100% sure yet she was interested in STEM studies. In that moment, you could see the scientist within her big gorgeous eyes, the mind that analyzes, questions, and seeks to solve the mysteries.

Sunsets have a magical way of painting the sky with vibrant hues, creating the perfect backdrop for capturing memorable moments. I had the pleasure of photographing a sunset mini session with Ellie, a Class of 2024 senior from Mountain Ridge High School.
Senior pictures are more than just photographs; they are a celebration of achievements and a reflection of personality. Ellie's senior photos captured her essence perfectly, showcasing her radiant smile and infectious enthusiasm for life.
Throughout her high school journey, Ellie was actively involved in various activities, including band and winterguard. These pursuits not only enriched her high school experience but also shaped her into the remarkable individual she is today. Incorporating elements of her interests into the photoshoot like her with her flute and a few dancers leaps added a personal touch, capturing the essence of who Ellie is as a person.
As the sun dipped below the horizon behind a wall of clouds, the greyness was transformed to a painting with the sky in shades of orange and pink. We wrapped up the session almost in the dark, which I am ausre was a little concerning to Ellie and her folks, but being a flash and natural light photographer (aka any available light) I knew I captured the portraits without fake AI skies added later- because flash photography allows you to set the background in camera to capture what’s really there, then turn on the flash to capture your subject!
I was so excited for what we captured with an amazing young lady. Graduation portraits serve as a timeless reminder of a significant milestone in one's life, encapsulating the anticipation and excitement of embarking on a new chapter.
Sunset sessions offer the perfect opportunity to capture senior pictures that are not only visually stunning but also deeply meaningful. Hannah Arizona State University Class of 2023 | Phoenix Senior Photographer Anjeanette Photography
You guys! I had the most amazing time capturing Hannah's senior portraits at ASU's Tempe campus! The vibe was just perfect, and we kicked things off at the Old Main fountain, which is like THE spot for senior pics. The iconic champagne spray and hoping in the water is a Sun Devil rite of passage. Hannah looked incredible in a chic black dress, and her energy was totally contagious.
Hannah's graduating from Arizona State's College of Art and Design with a degree in graphic design. Can we talk about how impressive that is? She tackled college during the whole COVID craziness and came out shining. Seeing her now, so ready to take on the world, is beyond inspiring. It's wild to think back to when I first moved to Arizona and did her high school senior photos. Watching her grow and achieve so much has been a total privilege.
I first met Hannah through the Sandra Day O’Connor band and color guard, where she's still rocking it as an instructor. I was lucky enough to be her high school senior photographer as well! She had this spark, this energy that was so infectious. Now, fast forward a few years, and here we are again, capturing her college senior photos. It’s incredible to see how far she’s come and how much she’s grown.Plus, she's part of the Fenix ASU World Class winter guard team which I absolutely love capturing at events like WGAZ competitions. The dedication and passion she has for these activities are evident. It’s not just a hobby for her; it’s a huge part of her life. Watching her perform, you can see the love she has for it, and it’s clear she puts her heart and soul into every routine. Getting to know Hannah and her mom, Kristi, and seeing her and her sister grow up has been one of the best parts of my job.
The Tempe campus was such a beautiful backdrop for our session. The architecture, the greenery, and all the students hustling NOT around in the photos was the best. Hannah choose the absolute BEST time to have her photos- right at the begining of spring break! It left her with plenty of time to go play the next day and weeks- but it also gave us an empty canvas (punny arn’t I) and cool sweet weather without waiting in line at popular spots like Palm Walk and The Normal School steps. The light was just right too, making Hannah glow even more. 📸✨
Kristi joined us for the shoot, and it was so heartwarming to see their bond. She’s been there every step of the way, cheering her on and helping her navigate through the challenges.We laughed about how fast time flies since the high school shoot. Kristi's support has been huge for Hannah, and it was great to capture that connection in the photos. During our shoot, we talked about her college experience. COVID-19 definitely threw a wrench in things, but Hannah didn’t let it stop her. She adapted, found new ways to stay creative, and kept pushing forward. It wasn’t easy, but she made it work. She shared some stories about virtual classes, group projects done over Zoom, and the challenges of staying motivated when everything went online. It was a tough time for everyone, but hearing how she handled it with grace and determination. Kristi’s pride in Hannah was clear,i t’s moments like these that remind me why I love what I do.
One of my favorite moments from our shoot was when we used smoke grenades for some of the photos outside of the Graduate Hotel on campus. Back when Hannah was in high school our session together had one bummer- the two smoke grenades I brought were duds :( I wanted to be sure to bring some for the session! As I set off the grenades, the colors swirled around Hannah created this magical, almost surreal atmosphere. Even though they kinda have a mild sulfur smell, it was like we were in a dream ha. The photos turned out absolutely stunning, and I think they perfectly capture Hannah’s vibrant personality and artistic spirit.
Hannah's story is all about determination and talent. Balancing school, teaching, and competing in winter guard is no joke, but she nailed it. As we wrapped up the shoot, I felt so proud of all she's achieved. 🎓👏 This session wasn’t just about photos; it was about celebrating Hannah's journey and the bright future ahead. The joy, laughter, and memories made it unforgettable.
Hannah’s faced so many obstacles, but she’s come out stronger on the other side. Her determination, creativity, and positive attitude are truly admirable. She’s not just a talented graphic designer and performer; she’s an incredible person with a bright future ahead.

Old Main and the iconic Normal School steps have an incredible mix of history and charm that makes it one of the best places to take senior photos on campus. It’s especially stunning in the fall when the light catches the brick and makes the whole area feel warm and inviting. These steps are a hot spot for ASU grads, especially in spring. By April or May, it’s packed with seniors waiting their turn for photos, so planning a fall OR end of February, March, or spring break session means avoiding those long waits. Trust me, it’s worth it.
For those of you planning your own ASU senior pictures, here are a couple of tips based on Baylee’s session. If you’re thinking of ASU’s Tempe campus, plan ahead! Fall is a great time because the crowds are smaller and the weather is much more forgiving. By the time spring rolls around, Old Main and Palm Walk get pretty packed with grads waiting for their turn at these iconic spots. If you want those classic shots without the stress, fall or spring break is the way to go.
