Justin Class of 2025 | Phoenix & Peoria Graduation Pictures & High School Photographer  ANJEANETTE PHOTOGRAPHY

Phoenix AZ Senior Graduation Pictures by Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography Peoria Scottsdale

Justin’s senior portrait session was one of the most unique shoots I’ve done this year! This Class of 2025 senior at Centennial High, he wanted something totally different—something that would reflect his style and personality and passions while being fun and memorable. Together we made it happen! We started the session at the West-MEC Big Rig campus and wrapped things up in the desert with some incredible shots featuring his car and smoke grenades. It was such a blast, and Justin absolutely nailed every moment. 🚛🌵

I always ask seniors their favorite kind of music or artist, so I can match their vibe with the artists I find on Epidemic Sound. For Justin I found the perfect fit with a track by Def Lev https://www.epidemicsound.com/track/V5NSEzbhfu/

The day started at West-MEC, and if you haven’t been there before, it’s such a cool location! The Big Rig campus has this industrial, rugged vibe that’s perfect for senior guys who want something more unique and edgy for their photos. The big trucks and equipment provided some amazing backdrops that made Justin’s session stand out. He brought a mix of casual and sharp outfits, which worked perfectly with the vibe of the location. His first look—his school work shirt and jeans—was so classic. Great choice for the West-MEC setting. We got shots of him leaning against a rig, looking confident and cool. These photos totally proved that senior pictures don’t have to be awkward or boring for guys. They can be fun and reflect who you are!

Justin’s personality shone through the whole session. He’s got this laid-back, chill vibe but also a fun, adventurous side, and we captured both. He joked about how he was a little nervous at first, but honestly, you’d never know it. By the time we got to his second outfit he was totally in his element. He even got some candid shots laughing and just hanging out near one of the rigs. I love how these moments turned out because they’re so authentic.

After wrapping up at West-MEC, we headed out to a desert loop in North Phoenix for the second half of the session. This was where Justin’s car came into play—and wow, what a cool feature to include! For any guys out there wondering if senior photos are “your thing,” bringing in something personal, like a car, can make all the difference. It’s a way to make the session about you and showcase something you’re proud of. Justin’s car added so much personality to the shoot, and it gave us some amazing photo opportunities.

The desert location was perfect for golden-hour lighting. The warm end-of-summer afternoon gave us that soft, golden glow that makes everything look magical. Justin switched into his third outfit—another casual but sharp look that matched the desert vibes. We found the perfect spot to park his car with the mountains in the background, and the combination of the car, the setting sun, and the desert landscape was kick ass. Now- this spot we had permission to use. It’s an abandoned road with very little traffic on it and we had dad also further down watching out just in case. Don’t try parking in the middle of the street just anywhere!

And then came the smoke grenades! This part of the session was such a highlight. Smoke grenades are such a fun way to add drama and creativity to a shoot, and Justin was all in for it. We positioned the grenades safely around his car, and the smoke added this moody, cinematic effect that looked incredible against the desert backdrop. The way the colors swirled and caught the light—it was next-level. Justin stood by his car with the smoke billowing around him, and he looked like he stepped out of an action movie poster. Seriously, these shots were unforgettable.

I think what made this session so special was how much it reflected Justin’s personality. From the industrial vibe at West-MEC to the adventurous feel of the desert, every part of the session told a little piece of his story. And that’s what senior photos should be about—capturing who you are at this amazing milestone in your life. For Justin, it wasn’t just about the photos (though they turned out incredible!). It was about celebrating his accomplishments, his interests, and his excitement for the future.

Baylee Arizona State University Class of 2024 | Anjeanette Photography Phoenix Senior Photographer

ASU AZ Senior university Graduation Pictures by Phoenix Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography

Baylee’s senior portrait session was golden magic! We spent the cool afternoon exploring the best spots on ASU’s Tempe campus and wrapped up with some golden-hour magic above Haden Library. Baylee is one of those people who lights up a room—and a camera frame—with her sweet, confident energy. She brought three outfits to show off all the different sides of her personality, and each one was a total Sun Devil vibe! Plus, we lucked out with the timing: If you’re planning a session at ASU, let me tell you—late fall is the best time. Crowds are low, the weather is perfect, and the whole campus just glows.

We kicked things off at Old Main and the iconic giant grad numbers. The building has this incredible mix of history and charm that makes it one of the best places to take senior photos in Arizona. It’s especially stunning in the fall when the light catches the brick and makes the whole area feel warm and inviting. Baylee chose a classic black dress and her cap and gown for her first outfit—simple and elegant. She stood on the iconic Normal School steps, looking like a queen ready to take on the world! Fun fact: these steps are a hot spot for ASU grads, especially in spring. By April or May, it’s packed with seniors waiting their turn for photos, so planning a fall session means avoiding those long waits. Trust me, it’s worth it.

From there, we headed to the fountain near Old Main. The breezy fall weather gave us the perfect conditions- but dang that water was still super cold! It’s an ASU tradition to get in the fountain, sometimes with a bottle of champagne :) Baylee is a brave young woman hoping in and making the freezing water seem fun and easy!!

Baylee twirled, laughed, and completely owned the moment. Her dress flowed just right in the breeze, and her smile was radiant. Senior sessions like this remind me why I love what I do. Capturing someone’s joy and excitement as they celebrate such a big milestone is just the best.

Next up, we made our way to Palm Walk. If you’ve ever been on ASU’s campus, you know how iconic this spot is. The towering palms create the most amazing natural frame, making it one of the top spots for Arizona senior pictures. Baylee’s second outfit—a trendy black and white dress- was perfect for this part of the session. The way she walked confidently down Palm Walk was a whole mood. It was like she owned the place (which, honestly, she totally did during our session!).

The great thing about Palm Walk is how versatile it is. Whether you’re going for something casual or formal, the endless line of palms adds a touch of elegance to every photo. Plus, the fall light hitting the trees creates a beautiful play of shadows and sunlight. It’s one of those spots that never fails to deliver the best senior pictures.

As the sun dipped low, Baylee had switched into her third outfit: a classic ASU sweatshirt. The wind picked up just enough to give her dress movement, and the setting sun turned everything to gold. She looked incredible! We found a spot near one of the water features, and the reflection in the water added this dreamy quality to the shots. Moments like this are why I say Arizona has some of the best places for senior photos. The combination of natural beauty and great light is unbeatable.

Throughout the session, Baylee’s personality shone. She’s sweet, fun, and so full of life. Whether she was striking a pose or laughing between shots, she made every moment memorable. Senior portraits aren’t just about pretty backdrops and great outfits (though those are important!). They’re about capturing who you are at this milestone moment. Her confidence and excitement for graduation were so clear in every shot. You could see how much she’s ready for this next chapter. Baylee’s session was such a great reminder of that. Each photo tells a piece of her story—her hard work, her excitement for what’s next, and the joy she carries with her every day.

For those of you planning your own ASU senior pictures, here are a couple of tips based on Baylee’s session. If you’re thinking of ASU’s Tempe campus, plan ahead! Fall is a great time because the crowds are smaller and the weather is much more forgiving. By the time spring rolls around, Old Main and Palm Walk get pretty packed with grads waiting for their turn at these iconic spots. If you want those classic shots without the stress, fall is the way to go. Another tip? Bring multiple outfits! Baylee’s three looks added so much variety to her photos, and each outfit fit perfectly with its location. It’s a great way to show off different sides of your personality and keep things fun and fresh.

Alek, Anthem Prep Class of 2025 | Anjeanette Photography Phoenix Senior Photographer

Phoenix AZ Senior Graduation Pictures by Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography Peoria Scottsdale http://phoenixseniorphotography.com/

Last week, I had the best time with Alek at the Sonoran Mountain Preserve for his senior portrait session! Alek is an honor student at Anthem’s Great Hearts, and he brought such a cool, laid-back vibe to the session. His personality and handsome smile shines in every single photo!

The Sonoran Mountain Preserve is one of my favorite spots in Arizona for senior photos. The views are everything! The landscape has those iconic desert vibes that are so Arizona, with cacti scattered all around and mountains that stretch across the horizon. It's the kind of place that feels big and beautiful and it’s perfect for seniors who want a mix of epic backdrops with a relaxed atmosphere. This location is always at the top of my list when someone asks, "Where should I take my senior pictures?" because it’s perfect for those high-quality, timeless shots.

Alek arrived ready to make the most of his mini session with quick outfit changes. I love it when seniors bring their own style to the shoot! Alek brought a great mix of looks that showed off his personality perfectly. He was casual yet well-dressed, and the way he transformed a simple shirt with a blazer was such a smart move! (I always tell my seniors that layering is key if they want quick changes that don’t take up too much time!) It’s fun to see how just adding or swapping one piece can give a totally different vibe to the photos.

What really added that extra spark to Alek’s session, though, were the items he brought that were so personal to him. He brought along his tennis racket – his favorite, of course – and his go-to sweater from school. Incorporating personal items like these is one of the best ways to make a senior session unique. Each time Alek pulled out one of these items, his face would light up, and I could just see how meaningful these little pieces were to him. It reminded me of why I love these sessions so much; it’s about capturing who you are at this amazing milestone in life!

One of my favorite moments was when we got some shots of him with the desert sunset behind him. The way the light hit those mountains and cast a golden glow across the desert floor was unreal. That’s the magic of Arizona sunsets. There’s nothing like that glow to add warmth to photos, and Alek totally soaked it up – he was a natural! I could see his confidence come through, and it was such a cool transformation to watch.

I know finding the perfect photographer can feel a bit overwhelming. There are so many choices out there, and Phoenix photographers are definetly some of the best!!! You want to be sure the person behind the camera understands your vision. If you’re looking for a Phoenix senior photographer who can capture your unique style and personality, I’d love to work with you! The best part of these sessions is working with seniors to bring out their personality in ways that feel totally authentic and relaxed. That’s what we did with Alek, and I think his photos are going to bring back all the memories of his senior year for years to come.

Are you ready to capture your senior year in one of Arizona’s most beautiful locations? Whether you’re from SDOHS, Mountain Ridge, Liberty High, or even ASU Prep, I’d love to help you celebrate this time! There are so many incredible spots for senior photos in Arizona, and the Sonoran Mountain Preserve is just the start. Give me a shout to book your session, and let’s capture your story together!

Addie SDOHS Class of 2025 | Magical Senior Portrait Session at OdySea Aquarium | Arizona Senior Photographer

You guys!! I am SO excited to share this absolutely incredible senior portrait session with you!

Scottsdale AZ Senior Graduation Pictures by Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography

🌟 Addie’s senior portrait session was one for the books! Before I dive into all the gorgeousness (pun totally intended! 😉), I have to give a huge shoutout to the amazing Yolanda Lake Hair and Makeup for making our girl look absolutely flawless while still feeling 100% like herself. When you have the right glam squad, magic happens! We started our adventure at the incredible Odysea Aquarium, and it was a dream come true. If you’re looking for a unique, jaw-dropping backdrop for senior photos, Odysea has it all: shimmering blue tanks, graceful sea creatures, and the perfect lighting that makes everyone look amazing. was literally THE perfect choice for her vibrant personality! As one of the best places to take senior photos in Arizona, this unique venue gave us such amazing variety - I mean, where else in Phoenix can you capture senior pictures with sharks swimming behind you?! Especially for a senior planning to study Marine Biology after graduation 🦈

Scottsdale AZ Senior Graduation Pictures by Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography

Addie came prepared, too—five fabulous outfits, each showing a different side of her personality. She started with a sweet and simple look, then switched it up with some trendy pieces, which fit perfectly with the aquarium’s vibrant, underwater world. Each change brought out something new in her, and it was so much fun capturing every bit of her playful, bright spirit. We had the best time wandering through the exhibits, catching magical moments with the clownfish (found Nemo!), watching the playful otters, and capturing some seriously frame-worthy shots by the stunning anemone displays.

We started the session with Addie’s first outfit in front of the floor-to-ceiling tank, and wow… what a stunner!! With the graceful sharks gliding by, the anemones swaying, and colorful clownfish darting around, Addie looked like she was in her own magical underwater scene. The aquarium lighting created this beautiful, soft glow on her, adding a dreamy vibe to her photos. Her dress was a simple white, which contrasted so beautifully with the blues and greens of the tanks. Absolute magic!

Scottsdale AZ Senior Graduation Pictures by Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography

Moving through Odysea, we found endless unique spots. There was a tank of otters that stole Addie’s heart—and mine too! She looked so cute laughing and watching them swim. I snapped a few candid shots as she was mesmerized by the otters. It was such an authentic moment, capturing her joy and sense of wonder. These are the kind of memories you just can’t plan for, but they turn out to be some of the best shots.

After we wrapped up at Odysea, we headed to our second location: The Boardwalks Carousel and Talking Stick Golf Course. And let me tell you, this place at sunset is just something else. The willow trees and the way the setting sun bathes everything in a warm, glowy light… it's a whole vibe! Addie wore two outfits in this spot: striking green shift, then a playful golden dress that was perfect for the setting, and as soon as she stepped out, I knew we were going to get some epic shots.

We found a little spot by the willow trees, and the way the branches framed her was just picture-perfect. Addie laughed, twirled, and really soaked in the moment, and that’s exactly what made these photos come alive. There’s just something about sunset sessions that add a little extra magic.

Looking back, I think my favorite part of the session was seeing how Addie’s confidence grew with each outfit and each shot. She started out a little shy but quickly warmed up, and by the time we got to Talking Stick, she was posing like a pro, completely in her element. That’s one of the best parts about senior sessions: watching these young women step into their power and own the moment. It’s not just about photos—it’s about capturing who they are at this incredible milestone in their lives.

I can’t say enough about how amazing it was to capture Addie’s senior photos at both Odysea Aquarium and Talking Stick Golf Course. The locations gave us such a rich variety of backdrops, each one more beautiful than the last. I honestly believe Arizona has some of the best places to take senior photos, from unique spots like aquariums to stunning outdoor venues at sunset. These are the places that turn a photo session into an unforgettable experience.

If you’re looking for the best senior pictures or want to find senior pictures near you that truly capture who you are, I’d love to chat! There’s something special about crafting a session that tells a senior’s story, especially in the vibrant and unique places Arizona has to offer. Whether it’s finding that dream spot on Roosevelt Row or creating a magical scene at Odysea, we’re here to make it happen.

To all the seniors out there dreaming of photos that are a bit different, let’s talk! I’m here to help you find the perfect location, pick outfits that make you feel amazing, and capture memories that last a lifetime. From Sandra Day O’Connor High School to Mountain Ridge and Liberty High, I love working with students from all over Phoenix, North Peoria, and beyond.

Addie, thank you for bringing your joyful spirit and style to this session. Here’s to all the big dreams and amazing adventures waiting for you after graduation. You absolutely rocked it!

And that’s a wrap! 📸✨ Ready to capture your own unique senior portrait session? Reach out and let’s make magic happen. Whether it’s an aquarium adventure or a golden hour moment in the desert, I’m here to make sure your senior photos reflect the amazing person you are.

Emerson Class of 2025 | Phoenix & Peoria Graduation Pictures & High School Photographer  ANJEANETTE PHOTOGRAPHY

Emerson, from the class of 2025 at Rancho Salano High School, recently made the big move from Atlanta to Arizona. And let me tell you, she has embraced it all—both the soccer field and the wide-open beauty of the desert. When she showed up for her senior session, she was ready to shine, bringing along five different outfits that each told a little part of her story. It was like seeing a snapshot of her personality in every look.

We kicked off the session with her in this super sweet, casual combo: a simple white top and jeans. It was the perfect start—timeless, relaxed, and totally Emerson. She was so natural in front of the camera, laughing and having a great time. The jeans paired with the Arizona desert made for a perfect backdrop. She fit right in, like the desert was her second home now. Emerson had a plan to have some barefoot portraits to express carefree spirit.

Then came her blue jumper—such a cute look! The jumper had this cool, casual vibe that Emerson carried off effortlessly. She looked like she belonged in one of those dreamy fashion campaigns where everything seems fun and carefree. We found a spot with some desert greenery to bring out the contrast between her outfit and the landscape. It was picture-perfect. Emerson was full of smiles, and I think this was when she really hit her stride in front of the camera.

One of the coolest moments? That denim tank dress paired with her brand-new red boots. These boots were special—they were a gift from her parents when she got accepted to the University of Arizona. She was clearly proud, and they just popped against the desert sand. This outfit had that perfect mix of laid-back and bold. The boots, with their bright red, were a statement all on their own. Emerson just strutted through the desert like it was her personal runway. The look was all her—a mix of her past, her present, and the exciting future waiting for her at U of A.

Next up, Emerson stepped out in the cutest pink mini shift skirt with a hundred tiny hot pink bows. It was so fun and girly! You could tell this outfit was all about showing off her playful side. We found a spot under one of the Westwing Mountains where the light just streamed in perfectly, adding this golden glow that made her look even more radiant. She twirled, she posed, and she absolutely rocked it.

But the real magic came at sunset. Emerson slipped into a stunning red satin dress, and oh my goodness—what a stunner!! That dress against the Arizona sunset was a total vibe. The way the light hit the fabric, turning it almost into a glowing ember, was just breathtaking. Emerson looked incredible, standing there with the desert stretching out behind her, the mountains silhouetted against that blazing sky. It was a moment where everything just clicked—the dress, the colors, the setting, her confidence. You could see her future as bright as that sky.

Throughout the entire session, Emerson was nothing short of amazing- and in 110 degrees! She embraced the desert, the heat, and the little quirks that come with shooting outdoors. At one point, we were gently reminded that Arizona likes to throw in a surprise or two—she giggled her way through a breeze that tried to play with her hair, and when we weren’t dodging a few curious insects, we were chasing that perfect light. No matter what, she kept her spirits high and her smile even brighter.

Senior photos are all about capturing a moment in time, but for Emerson, they were more than that. These photos weren’t just about marking her senior year; they were about celebrating her transition—from life in Atlanta to finding her footing here in Arizona. She’s stepping into new opportunities, from her love of soccer to her new adventure at the University of Arizona, and each outfit reflected a piece of her journey. Whether she was in jeans, red boots, or that stunning satin dress, Emerson was capturing more than just a look—she was telling her story.

For anyone reading, senior photos are such an important way to celebrate who you are right now. They’re a reflection of all the hard work, dreams, and fun moments that have led to this point. Emerson’s session was a great reminder of that. She showed up with style, confidence, and a genuine excitement for the future, and that’s what these photos are all about.

I always say it’s about more than just taking pictures—it’s about capturing who you are in this moment. Emerson, with her love of soccer, her style, and her new desert home, showed exactly that. She’s got big things ahead, and her senior photos were just the start.

To all the seniors out there—let your photos reflect the person you are, the journey you’re on, and where you’re headed next. Emerson’s session at the Sonoran Preserve was the perfect blend of old and new, fun and fierce, casual and bold. Whether you’re a soccer player, a fashionista, or a little bit of both, make your senior photos your own.

And with that, Emerson’s session came to a close just as the sun dipped below the horizon. 📸✨ We had such a blast capturing all her different looks and vibes, from the casual cool of her jeans to the elegant drama of that red satin dress. Here’s to Emerson and all the incredible adventures coming her way! Cheers to a future as bright as that Arizona sunset. 🌅👗🎓

But Mooooom... When Senior Guys don't *think* they want a Senior Portrait Session - Phoenix Senior Photographer Anjeanette Photography

best senior picture Places near me Phoenix AZ Senior Graduation Portraits by Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography Peoria Scottsdale

Senior year is a time of celebration, reflection, and capturing memories that will last a lifetime. For many moms, senior portraits are a cherished tradition, a way to freeze this fleeting moment in time. But what happens when your senior guy just isn’t into it? Many senior boys don’t care about photos, feel awkward in front of the camera, or think it’s not cool to care about senior portraits. This can create tension and frustration, especially for moms who value these keepsakes deeply.

I can honestly can tell you, Senior Guys sessions are my favorites- I love senior ladies but …some of my absolute best sessions have been for guys who didn’t think they wanted them, then turned into James Bond when they put on the suit mom “made” them wear. Most guys actually look forward to and enjoy their senior portraits, but they may not feel chatty about it. They have a lot of fun with them even if they feel uncertain at the beginning. theres this misconception that photo sessions are not hip with dudes- its not true even if they may tell each other that. Guys have just as many outfits, poses, and charm as the girls. I love it when guys bring a car, theirs or a friends. Or a jersey, or sword- seriously those sword session kick butt and are cool as heck. And if it is HIS idea…he will get into it mama!

I have seen this scenario at least a hundred times (no I am not exaggerating): You’ve booked a senior portrait session, chosen the perfect location, and even coordinated outfits. But your son, who could care less about photos, is dragging his feet. He feels awkward, self-conscious, and would rather be anywhere else than posing in front of a camera. He thinks showing enthusiasm for photos is like flexing, and he doesn’t want to come across as trying too hard. Meanwhile, you’re trying to make the best of it, but the session feels strained and uncomfortable.

best senior picture Places near me Phoenix AZ Senior Graduation Portraits by Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography Peoria Scottsdale

Now, picture this frustration bubbling over. Your son’s reluctance turns into sullen behavior during the session. He’s uncooperative, his smile is forced, and the whole experience feels more like a chore than a celebration. As a mom, you’re heartbroken because you want these photos to reflect the joy and pride you feel for your son’s accomplishments. The tension between wanting perfect photos and respecting your son’s feelings can be overwhelming.

So, how do we bridge this gap? How do we turn a potentially stressful situation into a positive experience for senior guys and their parents? Here are some solutions that can make senior portrait sessions enjoyable and meaningful for everyone involved.

First and foremost, communication is key. Yeah I know I know, he def does NOT want to talk about it. so take a car ride and talk about it TO him, I promise he really is listening :)

Before the session, have an open conversation with your son about why these photos are important to you. Explain that senior portraits aren’t just about looking good; they’re about celebrating his journey and milestones. Share your feelings and listen to his concerns. Understanding each other’s perspectives can help ease some of the tension.

Next, consider a more relaxed approach to the session. Traditional portrait sessions can feel stiff and formal, which can be uncomfortable for someone who doesn’t like being in front of the camera. Keep the session short and sweet. My mini sessions are perfect for this, offering just enough time to capture a variety of shots without overwhelming your son. These shorter sessions are less intimidating and can be a great way to capture some fantastic shots without the pressure of a full-length session. They are designed to be quick and fun, ensuring that we get great photos without making it feel like a chore.

So, how can I help make this process smoother and more enjoyable for both you and your son? As an experienced photographer, I’ve worked with many seniors who were initially reluctant to have their photos taken. My goal is to make each session comfortable, fun, and tailored to the individual.

I understand that many senior guys feel uncomfortable or awkward in front of the camera. That’s why I take the time to get to know each client, ensuring that they feel relaxed and at ease during the session. We can start with simple poses and gradually move to more dynamic shots as your son becomes more comfortable. My experience has taught me how to bring out genuine smiles and capture the true essence of each senior.

One of the ways I make sessions enjoyable is by allowing your son to take the lead. Let him choose his outfits, even if they’re not what you would have picked. This gives him a sense of control and comfort, making the experience more enjoyable. Provide him with three location options unless he has his own ideas. This way, he feels involved in the planning process and more invested in the outcome. Now he may not have one clue or interest and you will need to pack his outfits, if he doesn’t care go for it! The point is to offer him the opportunity to make them what he wants.

best senior picture Places near me Phoenix AZ Senior Graduation Portraits by Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography Peoria

If your son is into art, music, video games, sports or other activities, consider adding action as in my 2 hour Action Session. These sessions focus on capturing him doing what he loves, whether it’s playing basketball, D&D, skateboarding, or even playing an instrument. We go a place he feels good about: arcade, skate park, ball court. It’s a more dynamic and engaging way to showcase his personality and interests. Plus, he’ll feel more at ease in a familiar setting, doing something he enjoys.

During the session, I keep the atmosphere light and fun. Cracking jokes (even if they are super lame mom jokes like mine), playing his favorite music, or even bringing along a friend can help him relax. It’s all about creating a positive environment where he feels comfortable and can be himself. And remember, the goal isn’t to get the perfect posed shot but to capture his true spirit. Sometimes the best photos are the candid ones where he’s genuinely laughing or lost in thought.

Encourage your son to bring items that are meaningful to him. Whether it’s a sports jersey, a musical instrument, or a skateboard, incorporating personal elements can make the session more enjoyable and the photos more authentic. It’s a great way to showcase his unique personality and interests.

Finally, remind your son that these photos aren’t just for him—they’re for you too. Explain that having these memories captured is a gift that will mean the world to you. Sometimes, framing it as a way to make mom happy can be the extra motivation he needs to put in a bit of effort. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about making memories together.

Additionally, consider letting your son bring along someone who makes him feel at ease. Whether it’s dad, an older sibling, or a significant other, having a familiar face nearby can help him feel more relaxed and natural during the session. I have seen dudes light up for a significant other, especially if that person is into photos!! If he feels more comfortable without you being there, it’s okay to wait in the car or at home. This isn’t personally directed at you- often the guys who care about their moms the MOST are the ones most self-concious in front of them! They want to feel cool, and thats hard to do if a mom is there sometimes. Once i had a mom standing over my shoulder asking for his “real smile, like when you were in the 3rd grade and dumped ice cream on your lap!” eek! I know YOU wouldn’t do that mom. We can try starting it with you there, bring a friend of his, and if its not feeling good or getting the results you want, pop out for a water run or something! The goal is to create an environment where he can be himself, and he is growing up and wants portraits that reflect the man he is becoming.

best boy guy senior picture Places near me Phoenix AZ Senior Graduation Portraits by Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography

Here’s a step-by-step guide to make the most of your senior portrait session:

  1. Start with a Conversation: Discuss the importance of senior portraits and listen to your son’s concerns. Understanding each other’s perspectives can help ease tension.

  1. Plan Together: Let your son choose his outfits and provide him with a few location options. This gives him a sense of control and makes him feel more comfortable.

  1. Choose the Right Session: Consider a mini session or an action session tailored to his interests. These shorter, more dynamic sessions can make the experience more enjoyable.

  1. Keep It Light: Create a fun and relaxed atmosphere during the session. Play his favorite music, crack jokes, and keep things light-hearted.

  1. DO NOT MAKE HIM SMILE. I will ask, I run through a few poses and I direct prompts like “look at me, no smile, look to the left, chin down- look up at me” and then when the awkward warm up phase is over I do ask seniors to laugh at me- its weird, its dumb, they tell me so- and I encourage them to try it or give me a sift smile. I dont push it or force it. A forced smile is exactly that. Eventually by the end of the session he usually feel comfortable sharing a few smiles, even as a way to get it over with!

  1. Incorporate Personal Elements: Encourage your son to bring items that reflect his personality and interests. This makes the photos more authentic and meaningful.

  1. Bring a Friend or Family Member: Having someone he’s comfortable with can help him relax and enjoy the session. If he prefers, you can wait nearby or at home.

  1. Focus on Candid Shots: Sometimes the best photos are the unplanned, candid moments. Encourage your son to be himself, and capture those genuine smiles and expressions. Cinematic photos where he is not looking into the camera, like in a movie poster.

  1. Consider offering a faster ending IF he can cooperate until we get the needed shots! This wont effect the price, but if its a real dread offer to him that if the photographer gets the shots she needs for your photos we can end the session faster. This makes a mini session even mini-ier for him. and while this still has the same session fee, if he knows he can get ‘out of it’ faster we may get everything we need really fasy and in a happier fashion!

  1. Do It for Mom: Remind your son that these photos are a gift to you as well. Framing it as a way to make mom happy can be a great motivator. He really does love you, even if he def doesn’t love photos.

best boy guy senior picture Places near me Phoenix AZ Senior Graduation Portraits by Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography

I often have guys tell me “thats wasn’t as bad as I thought” or “that didn’t suck too bad” and even “that was a little fun actually”. High praise from a guy that was not looking forward to his session. A lot of guys secretly love it and I can tell!

By following these steps, you can turn a potentially stressful experience into a positive and enjoyable one. Senior portraits are about celebrating this important milestone and capturing your son’s true spirit.

Curious about how a senior portrait session can be a fun or at least stress-free experience? Take a look at my portfolio and see examples of sessions that showcase the true personality of each senior. My sessions are all about celebrating you and capturing your unique journey with joy and creativity.

Thank you for letting me be part of your senior year journey. Here’s to celebrating your achievements and capturing the magic of this exciting time in your life. Until next time, let’s keep creating memories that last a lifetime! 📸✨

I’m so excited to share Hannah’s senior mini portrait session in Phoenix, AZ. This session was an absolute delight, and I can’t wait for you to see the magic we created.

Hannah is a pride of the West State Champion marching band piccolo musician. Her talent and dedication have earned her a spot at Purdue after graduation. What an accomplishment! I’m so proud of her and thrilled to have captured this special moment in her life.

We chose Deem Hills for her session, and it was the perfect backdrop. The natural beauty of the hills, combined with the golden light of the sunset, created a stunning setting for Hannah’s portraits. She arrived with a big smile and an even bigger heart, ready to make some memories.

One of my favorite parts of the session was when we started with some casual shots. Hannah’s joy and enthusiasm were infectious. She played her piccolo, filling the air with beautiful music. It was like having our own private concert. Her passion for music shone through, making each photo come alive. And oh man, I’m so glad we did this! Her glow? A whole vibe!

As the session progressed, we moved to different spots around Deem Hills. Each location offered something unique. From the rocky terrain to the lush greenery, every angle was perfect. Hannah’s natural beauty and grace were evident in every shot. We captured a mix of posed and candid photos, each one telling a part of her story.

One of the highlights was the sunset portraits. The way the light bathed the hills in a warm, golden glow was simply magical. Hannah looked like a goddess with the sunset reflecting off her hair and skin. We found a perfect spot with the sun setting behind her, and the result was breathtaking. LOVE IT!

We had a few laughs along the way too. A curious lizard decided to join our session, and Hannah’s reaction was priceless. It’s those unexpected moments that add a touch of humor and make the experience memorable. We even managed to get a fun shot with our little friend in the background. These spontaneous moments are what make each session unique.

Hannah’s mom was there to support and cheer her on. The bond between them was heartwarming. We took a few shots of them together, capturing their special relationship. It’s always a joy to see the love and pride parents have for their seniors.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, we wrapped up the session with a few final shots. The sky was painted with hues of orange and pink, creating a dreamy backdrop. Hannah’s silhouette against the vibrant sky was stunning. It was the perfect end to a perfect session.

Logan Arcadia High School Class of 2024 | Anjeanette Photography Phoenix Senior Photographer

Phoenix AZ Senior Graduation Pictures by Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography Peoria Scottsdale

I'm thrilled to share Logan’s senior mini portrait session in Phoenix, AZ. Logan, a senior from Arcadia High School, celebrated his graduation with a quick but unforgettable portrait session at my favorite desert location. It was an afternoon filled with laughter, stunning scenery, and a few surprises that made the session even more magical.

From the moment Logan arrived, I knew this session was going to be a blast. He brought along a sick pair of Ray-Bans that added a cool, edgy vibe to his look. LOVE IT! We started off with some classic poses, capturing Logan’s confident smile against the beautiful desert backdrop. The sun was shining, the light was perfect, and Logan was a natural in front of the camera.

As we moved through the session, we mixed things up with some candid shots. Logan walking through the desert, the sunlight catching his hair just right – it was all so perfect. And let me tell you, those Ray-Bans? Total game-changer. They added a touch of style to every shot, making Logan look like he stepped right out of a fashion magazine.

Then, as if the day couldn’t get any better, a monsoon storm started brewing right at the end of Logan’s session. Now, if you know anything about Arizona, you know how rare and spectacular these storms can be. The sky started to change, with dark clouds rolling in, creating a dramatic backdrop for the final shots. Oh man, I’m so glad we stuck around!

Phoenix AZ Senior Graduation Pictures by Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography Peoria Scottsdale

The storm brought a refreshing coolness to the air, and the desert began to transform. The colors of the landscape became more vibrant, and the energy was electric. We took advantage of this incredible setting to capture some stunning sunset portraits. Logan, standing tall with the dramatic sky behind him, was a sight to behold. The way the sunset lit up the clouds and reflected off his Ray-Bans was a whole vibe. This glow is a whole vibe!

One of the best moments was when the rain finally started to fall. We quickly found shelter, but not before getting a few shots of Logan with raindrops adding a unique touch to the photos. His smile, mixed with the dramatic weather, made for some truly unforgettable images. It’s these spontaneous moments that make every session so special.

Logan shared some stories about his high school journey, and it was clear he’s ready to take on the world. His excitement for the future was palpable, and it made capturing his portraits even more meaningful. He’s not just a great subject for photos; he’s a fantastic person with big dreams. Celebrating his accomplishments and capturing his unique spirit was an honor.

As the storm passed and the sun dipped below the horizon, we wrapped up the session. The sky was painted with hues of orange and pink, creating a dreamy end to a perfect day. Logan’s silhouette against this vibrant backdrop was breathtaking. It was the perfect way to close out an incredible shoot.

Logan, your senior portrait session was an absolute joy! Your energy, style, and enthusiasm made every moment special. Keep shining and chasing your dreams. Your future is incredibly bright, and I can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll achieve. You’re a star! 🌟

For everyone reading, if you’re looking for a unique and unforgettable senior portrait session, consider a desert location in Phoenix. Tyler & Cam's Senior Prom mini sesh! | Phoenix Prom Photographer Anjeanette Photography

senior pictures near me Peoria AZ Senior Graduation Pictures by Phoenix Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography Glendale

I can't wait to share this sweet mini senior prom portrait sesh of Tyler and Kam at Rio Salado Park. These Cactus High School seniors were on their way to the "Time of the Century" prom at the Martin Car Museum, and their excitement was contagious!

Tyler, a football and lacrosse player, and Kam, his talented girlfriend, have been together for quite a while. Their chemistry is undeniable. They’ve even shared the stage at the Del E. Webb Center for the Performing Arts in productions like The Lion King and Fiddler on the Roof. Talk about a power couple!

Rio Salado Park provided the perfect backdrop for their portraits. The greenery always desired in AZ, the serene water, and the soft evening light made every shot magical. Kam looked stunning in her elegant lavender dress, and Tyler was dapper in his purple suit. They even had matching painted nails like the rockstars they are! Both were beaming, and you could tell they were ready to make some unforgettable memories.

One of my favorite moments was capturing the candid shots. Tyler and Kam were laughing, holding hands, maybe a butt was grabbed I won’t tell, and just enjoying each other’s company. Those genuine smiles and the way they looked at each other were priceless. It's these moments that truly capture the essence of their relationship.

As the session progressed, we moved to the trestle bridge where the sunset was just starting to cast a golden glow over the park. This light was a whole vibe! Kam’s dress shimmered, and Tyler’s suit took on a warm hue. They looked like they had stepped out of a fairy tale. We played with some fun poses, and they were totally game for everything. Love it!

One particularly memorable shot was by the water’s edge. Tyler picked up Kam, and they both laughed as I captured the moment. The reflection of the sunset in the water added a magical touch of glitter to the photo. These spontaneous, joyful moments are what make portrait sessions so special.

As the sun dipped lower, we wrapped up the session with a few more poses, capturing the last bits of daylight. Tyler had some pose ideas, specifically he wanted some with Kam wearing his suit jacket and after I asked him to softly kiss the top of her head I knew I had THE shot of the night!

Tyler and Kam, your prom portrait session was an absolute joy! Your connection and the fun we had made it a memorable experience. Keep shining and making memories together. You both have such bright futures ahead, and I can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll achieve. 🌟

DON’T I HAVE TO USE THE SCHOOL YEARBOOK COMPANY? | Anjeanette Photography Seniors Phoenix Az

No, you do not have to go to *JUST* the school yearbook photographer.

But I think you’ll want to do BOTH!

The schools portrait company is hired to take your yearbook mug-shot, tux or drape, and cap and gown. Unless otherwise stated that is the image they will use in the yearbook regardless. You are so much more than one shot!

Honestly, I love and have taken the traditional tux and drape shot. Its a classic! Secret Confession: I WAS a school yearbook photographer for 8 years- its a great business. One of the school the company I worked with service a high school that had large composites sheets from every year the school had been open- back to the 1920’s! It was amazing- and being a small town there were kiddos going to school with their great grandmothers, grandpa’s, and parents watching over them! Its timeless and sentimental and I loved it!

So get that yearbook pic and enjoy it. I suggest getting the school-approved print portrait package for a formal yearbook shot too. I bought my kid’s yearbook photos and senior photos from the school-approved studio too. I mean let’s face it I am the ideal client…I want all the images of my baby ha! But I also wanted something that REALLY showed off who they are and their personalities too.

..... what about YOU? Your hobbies and passions? Some schools allow independent photographers’ images- like mine- to also appear in your book. Regardless an individualized senior session is an important milestone. All other photographs beyond one formal headshot from the school’s photographer will be fast, cookie-cutter images, and they are completely optional to purchase!

Over and over I’ve been encountering seniors who believe that they must use the school photographer for all of their senior portraits. The school’s yearbook photography companies will attempt to lead you to believe that they are the ONLY photographers and you must go to them since they purchased a contract with your school for your photos, that is not true and you are not obligated to buy anything from them-

I encourage a classic formal portrait in cap & Gown or Tux or Drape- its a milestone shared by your parents and grandparents, an iconic part of the senior experience. But wait- there can be so much MORE!

Felt cute..

Might post my 1991 school yearbook pic later!

AFTER THE YEARBOOK FORMAL ADD THE REAL YOU PERSONALITY AND ARTISTIC MODERN PORTRAIT FROM ANJEANETTE PHOTOGRAPHY!

You are free to make your choice about your senior photographer!

I encourage you to look around at several talented, small, independent photographers such as myself in your area. Make a decision based on the quality of their work. You will get better quality images, more time spent with you and more poses to choose from if you use an independent photographer with years of training and artistic experience.

The yearbook photography companies are usually high-volume studios that profit from getting students in and out quickly with just a few backgrounds- the same ones all of your class will have.  And that’s their business model because it works- AND its inportant to get a photo of every kid. Not everyone will want a special session just for them and sad as that maes me personally hahah I want every kid in the yearbook. Sometimes when they are actually there in the yearbook folks studio they realize its a pretty cool experience and want more poses…You’ll still pay big bucks for your senior pictures at a bigger studio, but what you won’t realize is that you are paying for the business name.  Consider your options. In the world of digital imagery, why would a studio only let you pick a few poses?  Independent photographers will provide you with lots of options and will take the time to individually edit your images.  They will take pride in their work because the images they produce will be a direct reflection of their abilities.

Do you charge more than the school photographer?

It really depends, however, most high-volume yearbook photographers charge more than I do for their sessions and products. Please compare our prices. ;)

Faith Sandra Day O'Connor Class of 2024 | Anjeanette Photography Phoenix Senior Photographer

Glendale Peoria AZ Senior Graduation Pictures by Phoenix Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography

Faith’s senior portrait session at Thunderbird Park in Glendale, AZ, was truly an unforgettable experience! Faith, an amazing young woman with a passion for childhood education, is already making waves by working in a daycare. You can see how much she loves it in her eyes!

She chose two outfits that were just perfect for the setting. First, she rocked a boho red shirt with jeans. The vibrant red contrasted beautifully with the natural surroundings of Thunderbird Park. Then, she slipped into a flowy black dress with cowboy boots that is so on trend with the Class of 2024. Both looks were spot-on, highlighting her unique style.

Thunderbird Park is a treasure trove of natural beauty, making it the ideal location for senior photos. The scenery is simply stunning, and we were blessed with perfect weather. We started shooting in the late afternoon, capturing the soft, flattering light. Faith was a total natural in front of the camera, exuding confidence and joy in every frame. Her blonde hair gleaming in the sunlight was simply gorgeous.

We explored the park, discovering fantastic spots along the way. One area, bursting with wildflowers, perfectly matched her boho outfit. Faith twirled and laughed, creating candid shots that truly captured her free spirit. The whole vibe was relaxed and fun, and she was absolutely glowing with happiness.

Golden hour was the pinnacle of the session. The sun’s warm, golden light bathed everything in a magical glow. Faith looked breathtaking in her black dress, her hair illuminated by the setting sun. The combination of the soft dress and the rugged park scenery was stunning. That glow? Pure magic!

Faith’s dedication to childhood education is truly inspiring. She shared stories about her daycare experiences and her future aspirations. Her nurturing spirit shines through, and it’s clear she’s on the right path. Capturing this milestone for her was a true privilege, and the photos reflect her beauty, kindness, and commitment to making a difference.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, we wrapped up the session with a few last shots. The sky was a canvas of oranges and pinks, creating a dreamy backdrop. Faith’s silhouette against this vibrant sky was mesmerizing and the perfect close to a fantastic session.

Faith, your senior portrait session was such a joy! Your warmth and enthusiasm made it truly special. Keep shining and following your dreams. You have an incredible future ahead, and I can’t wait to see what you achieve. You’re a star! 🌟 Remember, the key to fantastic photos is to have fun and be yourself. That’s when the magic happens!

Thank you, Faith, for an unforgettable session. Here’s to celebrating your achievements and capturing the magic of this exciting time in your life. Until next time, keep shining and making memories! 📸✨

best senior picture Places near me Phoenix AZ Senior Graduation Portraits by Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography Peoria Scottsdale

Charlotte's BFF senior session was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment her friends arrived, the energy was off the charts. This wasn’t just a photo shoot – it was a celebration of friendship, laughter, and the end of an amazing high school journey.

Charlotte and her besties chose stunning Papago park for their session. The sun was shining, and the light filtering through the trees created the most beautiful glow. We started with some group shots to capture their bond. The way they interacted was so genuine and heartwarming. You could tell these friendships were built to last a lifetime.

Each of Charlotte’s friends brought their unique style to the session. From trendy outfits to casual chic, the variety was incredible. We had a blast incorporating their personalities into the photos. One of my favorite moments was when they all jumped in the air together, their joy perfectly captured in that split second. LOVE IT!

We also took some individual shots of each friend. It was important to highlight their individual achievements and personalities. They’ve all come so far and have such bright futures ahead. Charlotte, the star of the day, was radiant. Her confidence and happiness shone through in every shot. This glow is a whole vibe! 🌟

As the sun started to set, we captured some amazing golden hour shots. The light was perfect, casting a warm glow that added a magical touch to the photos. Charlotte and her friends were in awe of the beautiful colors in the sky, and it made for some truly stunning images. The whole scene felt like a dream.

By the end of the session, it was clear that these photos were more than just pictures. They were memories. Capturing this important milestone with the people who matter most to you is priceless. Charlotte and her friends will have these photos to look back on and remember all the good times they shared.

Charlotte, your BFF senior session was an absolute blast! You and your friends were amazing, and the photos turned out beautifully. Keep being awesome and making memories with those who mean the most to you. Your future is so bright, and I can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll accomplish.

Maxie Perry High class of 2024 | Anjeanette Photography Phoenix Senior Photographer

senior pictures near me Peoria AZ Senior Graduation Pictures by Phoenix Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography Glendale

Maxie's senior portrait session on Roosevelt Row was absolutely incredible! Maxie isn't just any senior; he's also a photographer. He knows how to work the camera, both in front of and behind it.

We started the sesh with Maxie showing up in the first of two fantastic outfits. Each one was on point. First, he had this casual, red polo and relaxed denims look that was effortlessly stylish. Then he switched it up with a crisp brown shirt and edgy black jeans.Every look was a total hit. LOVE IT!

Roosevelt Row is the perfect spot for photos. The murals, vibrant colors, and artsy atmosphere make it an ideal backdrop. And Maxie nailed every pose. Honestly, it was like he’d been modeling forever. 📸

One of my favorite moments was when we checked out the 1 1/2 Street Mural alley behind The Churchill. Maxie stood in front of it, and hopped up on a nearby set of mailboxes to hit all the angle. The contrast was just perfect. His posing was spot on, and we captured some stunning shots. It was like the mural was made for him. The energy of Roosevelt Row matched Maxie's personality so well – friendly, confident, and just cool.

The best part of the session was the laughter and fun we had. At one point, some curious passerbys decided to join our shoot. Why do people always ask “Are you taking photos?” Maxie took it all in stride, laughing and making the best of every moment. It’s those unexpected moments that make the shoot so unique. City Life! It isn’t just about the photos; it’s about the experience.

Maxie told me about his love for photography and it really shone through when he described some real estate work he was part of. He’s been taking photos for himself and his school, and you can tell he’s got an eye for it. His passion is contagious, and it made the session even more enjoyable. Seeing him so engaged and excited was truly inspiring.

We ended the day with some golden hour shots on top of the 1st street garage, and the lighting was perfect. That glow was everything. Maxie looked absolutely radiant, and the photos captured that dreamy, warm light beautifully. It was the perfect way to wrap up an amazing session.

Maxie, you are a star! Your senior session was one for the books. Keep being awesome and chasing your dreams. Your talent and passion for photography are going to take you far, and I can’t wait to see what you do next.

If you’re looking for a spot that’s full of life and color for your senior portraits, Roosevelt Row is the place to be. And remember, it’s all about having fun and being yourself. That’s when the magic happens!

Thanks for tagging along on this adventure with Maxie and me. Until next time, keep shining and making memories! 📸✨

There's fire, and there's FIRE | Indoor studio sessions for summer: Anjeanette Photography Phoenix Senior Photographer

Hey everyone! Let’s talk about why senior photos in a studio are so chic and totally trending right now! 📸✨ I know, I know, the thought of studio photos might bring back memories of those awkward school photo sessions with weird props and stiff poses. But trust me, my studio sessions are NOTHING like that! We're all about capturing your unique style and making sure you look fab.

senior pictures near me Peoria AZ Senior Graduation Pictures by Phoenix Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography Glendale
senior pictures near me Peoria AZ Senior Graduation Pictures by Phoenix Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography Glendale

First off, studio photos are super fashionable. They give off this sleek, modern vibe that's just perfect for senior portraits. The controlled lighting in a studio means we can create all sorts of cool looks, from soft and dreamy to bold and dramatic. Natural lighting and or strobe flash. It's all about showcasing your personality and making you look like a total stunner!

And let's be real, Arizona summers are HOT. When the temperature hits over 95 degrees, there's no way we’re doing an outdoor shoot. Here’s why I only do studio sessions when it's blazing outside:

  1. Safety First: We don’t want anyone getting heatstroke. It's serious business. Staying indoors means everyone stays cool and safe.

  2. Skin Matters: Greasy, shiny skin from sweat? Not cute. And trust me, it shows up in photos, highlighting every bump and texture. In the studio, your skin stays fresh and flawless.

  3. Makeup Meltdown: Even with the best setting spray, makeup can melt right off in the heat. In the studio, your makeup stays put, keeping you looking fabulous throughout the session.

  4. Fresh Faces: Heat can make your eyes and face look tired. We want bright, vibrant expressions, not the look of someone who just ran a marathon!

  5. Equipment Overheat: My camera gear does not love the heat. Keeping everything cool ensures we get the best shots without any technical hiccups.

Now, I do have a small studio space in North Phoenix, but there are some amazing studio options in Phoenix. Each place has its own vibe and unique charm. TO NAME A FEW:

  • Studio House AZ, Downtown Phoenix: This spot has such an urban, artsy feel. Perfect for those looking to capture a bit of the city’s edge.

  • Parkwood Studios, Midtown Phoenix: A versatile space that can go from classic to contemporary in a heartbeat. This places looks like a Hollywood sesh. Love it!

  • Stone Studios, Mesa: Known for its rustic charm and natural light. If you’re into a more organic, laid-back look, this is your place.

  • Casa Peony, Scottsdale: Totally chic and glamorous. Ideal for those who want a touch of elegance in their photos.

senior pictures near me Peoria AZ Senior Graduation Pictures by Phoenix Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography Glendale

And don’t worry, we’ve got some great options in Peoria and North Phoenix too. Wherever you are, there’s a fab studio nearby to make your senior photos pop!

I can’t stress enough how studio sessions can elevate your senior portraits. It’s all about capturing YOU in the best light (literally) and making sure your photos are as unique and awesome as you are. No awkward props, no outdated poses. Just pure, fashionable fun!

So, why are studio sessions so popular? It’s simple. They offer a controlled environment where we can play with lighting, backdrops, and your style to create photos that are totally YOU. Plus, we avoid all the hassle that comes with shooting in extreme heat. Trust me, once you go studio, you won’t look back!

If you’re ready to rock your senior portraits and create some stunning memories, let’s get in the studio and make some magic happen. Your senior year is a big deal, and your photos should be too. Can’t wait to see you shine! 🌟📸✨

Until next time, stay cool and keep slaying!

When to scedule class of 2025 senior portraits | anjeanette photography, phoenix senior pictures

Planning Your Senior Session: The Early Bird Gets the Photoshoot ⏰

Class of 2025 seniors & parents, senior portraits are more than just pretty pictures. They're a way to freeze this pivotal moment in your child's life, a time capsule of their hopes, dreams, and unique personality. One of the most significant portraits in a person’s life- because think of it…how often does a person have a solo portrait session? While obviously I think portraits should happen more often, most photos are with family and friends, or at a wedding, maybe a work headshot. Senior Portraits capture the once-in-a-lifetime evolution from child to adult as they embark on a new adventure and so many changes.

Here's the thing though: senior sessions are popular, and while there are amazing photographers across the valley, this year my calendar as well as several other senior photographer I know filled up by mid-February! Every year I have to turn folks away because I fill up and there are only so many days in a month. I really hate it. Most school yearbooks want images for yearbook ads and more as early as November to as late as January. Announcements to friends and family to celebrate your senior and/or invitations to grad parties need to be made and ready to mail by mid-April (especially if family from out of town want to attend ceremonies and parties- they need to book flights early)

As a senior photographer with experience watching parents plan and as a parent to kids who have graduated as well, I feel the ideal time for senior portraits is November and December, or if spring portraits are wanted March to the first week of April.

Some parents don’t schedule portraits until late April and May…then are upset they don’t get the date they wanted if they get a date at all. Or they miss yearbook and banquet deadlines. Or they don’t have time for announcements and the seniors miss out on those long thin congratulatory envelopes full of checks.

Don't miss out – book your session early to secure your spot.

Edgy or traditional….I’d love to capture your Senior Story!

Don't let this special time slip away! Contact me today to schedule and start planning your dream senior portrait session. I can't wait to collaborate with you and create a session that's as unique and unforgettable as your graduating senior. Let's make their senior year shine!

FAQs:

What should I expect during my senior portrait session?

Our session together will be laid back, relaxed and hopefully fun! I'll guide you through different poses and locations, but there's plenty of room for you to express yourself and have some laughs.

What should I wear to my senior portrait session?

There are no hard and fast rules! The best outfits reflect your personality and style. Think about a mix of casual and dressy options, and don't forget to bring accessories that add a personal touch. Check this out: bit.ly/WhatToWearSeniorPictures

When should I book my senior portrait session?

The earlier, the better! Especially with limited availability, booking early ensures you get your preferred date and time. why stress and put it off all year? It just gets busier and busier after January.

My top suggestion is November and December

If spring portraits are wanted March to no later than the first week of April.

What locations do you offer for senior portraits?

I offer a variety of locations to suit your style, from urban landscapes to natural settings. Or I should say, Phoenix, Arizona, and the world do! 80% of seniors choose outdoor on-site locations. I also offer fantastic fashion studio locations! I can also accommodate special requests if you have a particular place in mind.

Check these places out: https://phoenixseniorphotography.com/location-guide

Where are you located?

I am located in North Phoenix Arizona. I cover all of Phoenix, Az. to 30 miles around town- and I will absolutely fly to Iceland of whereever if you want the most epic of sessions! I relocated from Hendersonville, Tn home of Johny Cash. I am available to travel.

What about blemishes?

Don’t worry! Everyone has days, weeks, months etc with less-than-perfect skin. You shouldn’t have to live with once-in-a-lifetime portraits that have a temporary blemish. Applying makeup properly can help. Makeup in photography is gender neutral and can show me where you want a touch-up done while I edit. I go over each final image to remove minor skin blemishes. Most braces can be removed at this time but there is an extra fee. However, I do not do extensive body modifications: my policy is that if it’s temporary I remove it. If it’s permanent it stays! Be loving and accepting of who you are and the natural beauty you possess.

The Bra and Stubble Clause

Everyone should come to their session ready to be photographed as they appear! I will let you know if something peeks out or a hair needs adjusting (what are those hanger strings in shirts called? I’ll let you know if I see it!) It’s probably too late after the gallery is delivered, because while I can edit stubble and undergarments out…the fee is an additional $50 per image.

How long will it take to receive my senior portraits?

You'll typically receive your final digital images within 3-4 weeks of your session but if you need exact dates..here ya go!

Sept/Oct : 3 weeks from Final Payment

November:   4 weeks (not including holidays)from Final Payment

December:   3 -4 weeks (not including weekends OR holidays) from final payment

Jan/Feb/Mar : 3 weeks from Final Payment

April: 3-4 business weeks from final payment

May : 4 weeks from Final Payment

Apr/May sessions: Photography will attempt to get 1 or 2 images of photographers choice to you asap before the full gallery is ready for graduation events or announcements, etc.

I also offer a variety of print and announcement packages to help you preserve your memories- all from the comfort of your home with no pushy sales meeting.

Layla & Lillian Centennial High Class of 2024

As a Phoenix senior photographer, I've had the privilege of commemorating many graduation milestones. However, few sessions are as special as my recent portrait experience with twins Layla and Lillian from Centennial High School's Class of 2024.

These remarkable young women, both National Honor Society members, have an unbreakable sisterly connection. Even as they prepare to embark on different collegiate journeys, the affectionate dynamic they share is beautifully unshakable.

When Layla and Lillian arrived at the Botanical Gardens full of excitement, we instantly forged a rapport that allowed their authenticity to shine before my lens.

Collaborating with twin is a unique creative opportunity to highlight the distinctive individuals within an intertwined bond. Through a little thoughtful direction and an encouragment, I helped Layla and Lillian to feel comfortable expressing their individual personalities.

For me, their session marked the culmination of another profound senior portrait season. As the sisters' high school journey draws to a close, a new class eagerly awaits the opportunity to immortalize their own stories of growth, friendship and memories through iconic portraiture.

Phoenix families with current high school juniors – the window to reserve your senior's portrait experience is already open for the Class of 2025. Just like Layla and Lillian's session, your senior's portraits will become treasured heirlooms celebrating them.

Don't let these fleeting moments slip away. Because when the diplomas have been tucked away and careers have blossomed, it's the memories captured within these portraits that will transport you back to their fearless, radiant selves on the brink of an unwritten future.

Emma Class of 2024 | Peoria Arizona Senior Portrait Sessions by Phoenix photographer Anjeanette Photography

Phoenix AZ Senior Graduation Pictures by Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography Peoria Scottsdale

Emma's vibrant personality and unique sense of style were the perfect match for her senior portrait session in the eclectic Roosevelt Row neighborhood. From the moment she started, her bold fashion choices and confident demeanor set the tone for an unforgettable day.

Time's Passing By BLUE STEELCushyDamma Beatz https://www.epidemicsound.com/track/Dj01FjZh1c/

Ditching the traditional smiley senior portraits, Emma embraced an edgier, more expressive approach that reflected her authentic self. She curated a collection of statement-making outfits, each one complementing the colorful murals and graffiti-adorned walls that lined the streets.

The hazy day provided the perfect moody ambiance, adding depth and dimension to our shots. As we wandered through the vibrant alleys, Emma's outfits effortlessly popped against the urban backdrop, creating a series of striking images that captured her unique style and unapologetic attitude. Emma owned every look with an undeniable coolness. Her ability to convey emotion and attitude through her expressions and poses made every look fire..

As we explored the neighborhood, Emma's infectious energy and enthusiasm inspired me to think outside the box, pushing the boundaries of traditional senior portraiture. We played with angles, lighting, and unconventional settings, resulting in a collection of images that defied expectations and celebrated Emma's authenticity.

Throughout the session, Emma's confidence and willingness to experiment shone through, creating an environment where creativity flourished. Her unwavering trust in my vision allowed me to capture her true essence, showcasing the depth and complexity of her multifaceted personality beyond just her striking appearance.

Emma's senior portrait session was a refreshing departure from the ordinary, a representation of the power of embracing individuality and pushing boundaries. As I reviewed the final images, I couldn't help but feel inspired by her fearless spirit and uncompromising approach to self-expression. In a world where conformity is often the norm, Emma's senior portraits serve as a reminder to stay true to oneself, to embrace the unique qualities that make each of us special, and to never shy away from boldly showcasing our authentic selves to the world.

Yva Highland High Class of 2024 | Peoria Arizona Senior Portrait Sessions by Phoenix photographer Anjeanette Photography

Phoenix AZ Senior Graduation Pictures by Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography Scottsdale

As the hazy sun peeked through the afternoon clouds, Yva, her mom, and I set out for her senior portrait session in the breathtaking Tonoto Forest. Little did we know, Mother Nature had a surprise in store for us. The day started off beautiful, with rays of warm sunlight filtering through the trees over the mountains, creating a magical ambiance for our shoot.

This videos music:  Horizon Song by Sean Williams

Yva, a talented makeup artist embarking on her journey in cosmotology next year, had meticulously planned her outfits to showcase her multifaceted personality. From a bohemian-chic flowy white dress to a sleek, modern pink look, with a sunny yellow grad dress as well as a shorts outfit in between, each ensemble exuded her unique flair and confidence.

We began our session capturing Yva's radiant smile and infectious energy amidst the natural splendor of the forest. Then we stumbled upon a picturesque clearing, where the sunlight danced across the vibrant yellow wildflowers.

However, the serene setting quickly took an unexpected turn as dark clouds rolled in, and the first raindrops began to fall. Undeterred, we tried to embraced the change and allowed the dramatic thunderstorm to infuse our shots with a moody, tone. However, as the rain intensified, we made the wise decision to reschedule the remaining portion of our session. Being prepared for such contingencies, I always reserve a few backup dates, ensuring that no reschedule fees or inconveniences arise due to uncooperative weather.

Phoenix AZ Senior Graduation Pictures by Arizona Photographer Anjeanette Photography Scottsdale

On our rescheduled date, we ventured to the Salt River, where the red rocks of Tonto National Forest provided a stunning contrast against Yva's ethereal beauty. With her adventurous spirit, she fearlessly waded into the cool waters, creating dreamlike portraits that captured the essence of her free-spirited nature.

Throughout our sessions, Yva's infectious enthusiasm and her ability to effortlessly adapt to unexpected situations made our time together an unforgettable experience. Her senior portraits not only showcased her outer beauty but also captured the resilience, creativity, and zest for life that define her as an individual.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to capture such a remarkable clients like Yva and her mom Erikca. Yva's senior portrait session was a testament to the importance of embracing the unexpected and finding beauty in every moment, no matter the circumstances.

She uses both the rich, artistic textures of Natural Light & dramatic, clean lines of Flash Photography - to give the BEST of both worlds to your valuable memories and be ready & experienced for any situation! In business since 2008, she studied photography in high school and college, developing film and educating herself in digital later through research, workshops, classes, & 8 years as a school portrait and sports photographer.

Your moments are precious, whether silly, serious, candid, or posed, & Anjeanette has the heart and experience to preserve those captures in time for you to treasure!

Anjeanette photographs fleeting life adventures: Senior portraits, professional head shots, families and children. Clients have included brides & grooms, families, musicians & artists, & a hip artisan soap company. She gives back to her community back as a volunteer children & family photographer for schools, band, non-profit organizations, and church. When she’s not awkwardly writing about herself in the third person, she is praying, painting, reading, and exploring the world with her husband and children and her trusty National Parks Passport.

When it comes to senior portrait sessions, guys can be a bit hesitant at first. There's a common misconception that these photo shoots will be cheesy, uncomfortable, or just plain weird. And honestly one of the first things I tell seniors when we start shooting is that YES- it is going to be a little awkward at first. Look we just met and I am telling you to pose or sit ‘funny’ and staring at you. It’s vulnerable and can make almost anyone feel self conscious. However, just a few moments into my session with Talon proved that they are not the miserable experience some fear.

As we kicked off our session at The Mill in Tempe, Talon arrived with not only a great attitude but also a fantastic sense of style. He'd carefully curated several outfits, each paired with a different set of shoes that showcased his unique flair. From the moment he stepped in front of the camera, any preconceived notions about senior portraits quickly melted away.

Our next stop was the Center for the Arts, where Talon's natural charisma truly shone through. He effortlessly transformed the urban backdrop into his personal stage, Talon's session truly came alive. At Papago Park amidst the stunning desert landscape and the Arizona sunset, he embraced the rugged beauty of the surroundings, allowing his genuine personality to shine through in every frame.

I was consistently impressed by Talon's willingness to try new angles, experiment with different looks, and truly immerse himself in the creative process. His friendly and personable demeanor made our collaboration an absolute joy, reminding me why I love what I do. As a senior photographer, there's nothing more rewarding than capturing the unique spirit of a young person ready to take on the world.

To all the high school guys out there who may be hesitant about senior portraits, let Talon's experience calm your concerns. These sessions are an opportunity to showcase your individuality, celebrate your achievements, and create lasting memories that will be cherished for years to come. Embrace the experience, have fun with it, and trust in the expertise of your photographer. Because when you approach senior portraits with an open mind and a willingness to let your true self shine, the results can be truly remarkable – just like Talon's unforgettable session.
